Why cant users have custom titles.

Make them special treat for like 100 million credits. Or even 250 million. And charge any changes of course. Guarantee you, there still will be lot of people willing to pay for it just so they can feel more special
It would kill two birds with one stone - it would make money sink and admins/mods would check every text and stop possibly obnoxious titles.

Just get rid of custom titles altogether, then there is no us vs them problem right? This will solve it all. And yes, it is us vs them, the sane players vs the trolls. I have been around the block long enough to know the difference between someone having an opinion and someone being a troll.

Custom titles allow for the community to express themselves a little more. I think it should be free for people to make their titles, but if they're a faction leader or otherwise important players, they have to remain with their official leader position titles. There has to be some trust in the community, it really isn't as if this is elementary.

I'd say we have a test period of a week or two with CUTs being editable by people with over 1k posts. If what you say happens (too many meme names), revert them and we're back to what we had before.

EDIT: On the topic of the OP, I really can't see anything necessarily wrong with CUTs. I mean, if people misuse them, we can deal those people individually. I think it'd be something neat that we could implement or at least trial.
