p/ much that. If I want to talk to people, then too bad. Sucks to be you.

Quote, BAF are not supposed to be talking to GRN for 20 minutes before they realise they are the enemy who want to enslave their country. The enemy who killed thousands of breotnians and took over Leeds by force.

I couldnt agree more. A couple of lines of RP chat then have at it.
If you have been caught, your fault, buy em off, or die in the process.
The whole point of the GRN war is conquest and the fightback.

RP between smuggler and pirates and law enforcement is fine, a few or many insults is the way to go!
If the Role play is longer than 5 min both parties are wasting time, credits and their money.
More so if the pair of you are the only ones in the system.

On a point of order Aliens dont understand human languages, unless they are a mind controlled humanns or a Kooky AI. Both are difficult to talk to.

I don't know why talking is the synonym of role-play in Disco. Role-play is, of course, playing the role of the character you are playing as. If he is a politician, talking will do. But, if he's a soldier, his role-play will be to shoot at the enemy.

Talking, however, can be useful sometimes. You can keep a pirate busy while the police is coming, for example, or you can keep an enemy busy so you are not attacked before reinforcements arrive. Holding a speech for their own forces is something that, I think, admirals should do before battle. Taunting the enemy as the ships are being aligned and prepared is fun too.

Although I agree with Sombra, I had to correct some technical issues with the point. Additionally, the original post is unusually long and repetitious, so I think that it could be shortened. More people will read it to the end in that case.

PS: "Childish" is a childish word. Use "infantile".

He does have a point, kinda. I mean, I never understood the "my side is better, no my side is better" or the "I will try to change you and see that I am right and what you do is wrong" RP. I mean, if you do fly a Navy character, let's say GRN, and encounter a BAF or LN, it would be logical to go full "RED ON SCANNER ! ARMING WEAPONS !", right ? I mean, that's the pilot's job, to kill the enemy, not trying to make him see how Gallia is the better House and how his King will make things better for everyone if he stands down and joins the GRN. I mean, I guess it would be ok if its a high ranked officer taking to another, but just a soldier (pilot in our case) to soldier RP, that doesn't sound too good of a RP.

I doubt that it would be logical to say anything whatsoever in most cases. Asterisks come in handy in those occasions, though.

*The ship's turrets are slowly turning towards their target. The gunners are sitting idle and waiting for the order to fire. Following the captain's move of a finger, the kilometer long structure of metal starts spewing clusters of energy that can raze a city in one hit.*

This is how I role-play my Mako, because the captain is an autistic psychopath.

Well yeah, but it needs to be said something, some sort of RP so it would be within the rules. But Navy RP should be kept minimal, if you ask me. I am fine with others doing more RP, they should, especially the intelligence factions. And pirates-police-bounty hunters-traders RP is big and wide, but sadly, you usually find all these things backwards. Navy to Navy RP, and the others just go full "RED ! ENGAGE !".

By the way, since this is a chance to point out this inconsistency, why would anyone who is not the commander say "engage"?

Why would a low graded officer walk alone trough the lands, then .

upon reading the baf and corsair post, and deleting 6 walls of text, I can see your point. However, discovery is designed for a roleplay game regardless of the rules involved, if you want to leave the talk zone, they're not stopping you. If they cd you, there is that fabulous pvp you really wanted.
