Dreams are a key way to find out more about your personality and psychology. Most specifically nightmares! You know, those scary dreams that terrify you at night and make you immobile in the morning?

So what I want you to do, is describe what your worst nightmare was (to the best of your ability).

Oh, PLEASE don't derail this thread alright? This is something really serious.

When I was younger, I had a reoccurring dream the majority of nights.

To help with understanding, does anyone know the feeling when depth perception fails, and somehow the keyboard you are looking at feels really far away? That's what makes this bad.

Imagine that it is dark, the kind of dark that you cant see your hand in front of your face. This darkness, combined with the failure of depth perception, with no floors, and a long way down.
In short you are floating/falling in infinite darkness and bad depth perception.

Other times I dream 'the future.' Its hard to explain and even harder to understand once it happens.

I've had the "falling into infinite abyss" dreams often, but never had I suddenly lost my depth perception. That's pretty unique.

I was falling down from the sky but was immobilized so could not wake up. The sound of wind started growing louder and louder up to roaring. I decided to take some deep breathes and then I have managed to wake up. I actually somehow enjoyed this dream, even though I am afraid of heights, but the roar really scared me and I thought that I'd better stop until my ears explode.

Well, I have little in terms of "worst" nightmares go as I have more or less forgotten about them or have grown out of them. But if I had to name one, then I suppose poltergeist-esque nightmares/activities still scare me shitless sometimes.

Though, perhaps one of my weirdest ones in my entire lifetime, was a dream of me running around my elementary school building while evading two "girls" whom seemed to have the power to teleport around freely as they saw fit.
I don't know how, I don't know why, but I ran out of fear. I only remember running out of fear, while hearing chatter and playful tones coming out of their mouths as they talked in the distance, or close to me. Running away, hiding, fleeing in bursts. It was one of my weirdest yet somehow most memorable and enjoyable ones now that I think about it.

Worst nightmate, that's easy.

The nightmare where you're just chilling at home, lying in bed or whatever, and suddenly one of your family members goes nuts. Strangles your mother, stabs your brother and then bangs on the door you locked/barricaded with no escape route.
That shit could still force me to grab new pants to this day.

EDIT: kenshin156 here, forgot I was still logged on here.

Interesting post

Well I got many bad dreams in my life for sure. But there's one which I consider the worst and harrashes me once a year or so, since I can remember it in its finest details...

These are the kind of psychedelic dreams, everything flips or disappears, and then appears there and here. The dreams' scenarios tend to change numerous times during the night, and you forget 80% of them when you wake up, so the thing comes when you are aware that you're chaning these scenarios, and running from something you don't even know what is, shoots? bandits? evil? death? .
Add a kind of "glue" on your eyelids that erases your vision, so you're basically running blindly from someone trying to kill you. Then when I wake up I realize, I was trying to stop the dream, in fact, and I "couldn't open my eyes" cause they were closed, but I was trying to.

Uh, being murdered, tortured and raped. Public embarrassment, forced self-defecation. Being abducted and tortured extensively. Being disemboweled. There's no specific dream, just continuous thematic similarities.

I used to have extremely unpleasant dreams. As my mental health started to recover the older I got, the less of a problem it was. Ultimately dreams are reflective of incidents within people's lives - at the time, domestic abuse. I fed off them, diarised them, inserted them into my writing - decided I could move beyond that. Eventually you become your own helper.

I still suffer from extreme stress and anxiety, but it's been improved. Fantasy, Sci-Fi universe have helped me out considerably, be they books or videogames. People bang on about Discovery being toxic - it isn't. Real occurrences can be much worse. Freelancer, Freespace, Homeworld, Star Lancer and Star Citizen have helped me convalesce, and ultimately formulate a productive, socially useful life as a student, academic, writer and music producer.

Vive Discovery.
