Indeed. Sleep paralysis --- it's absolutely terrifying.

Well it's been a while since my last one, once I realized that I was in my head it became so easy to just get rid of them. But one I can remember was shortly after my Family had to evacuate from Beaumont to Denton because of Hurricane Rita.
From what I remember about it, we were in a convenience store that we stopped at during the evac (That was hell to go through by the way, My cat at the time almost got Heat stroke from it due to lack of AC in the car.) We heard someone scream outside and ran out to see what was going on, and we saw the Rita... from about 200 miles away, coming fast. (I was young so I didn't know what it actually looked like, so it just looked like the underside of the orbital pictures) The reason it stuck with me is because of how my family reacted, way to accurate for my liking, and that terrified me.

I've had many nightmares of a different kind and the weird thing is - some of them seem to be a recurring theme. Like, when one of those dreams appears again, I am aware that I have dreamt of this before. I have seen the stuff I am about to see and there can be different endings to this.

I HAD THE SAME DREAMS

It was in my room, the stuff i saw looked close at first, as it usually is. But upon moving closer it didnt appear to come any closer. As if i was infinitely small and infinitely far away.

Those are far from the worst though. In fact, they were comforting in a way. "Cozy" i suppose.

Have you ever had a dream where you try to talk but nothing happens, try to move but nothing happens, try to breathe but nothing happens? You can see people around you and they can see you, they begin to move away from you and theres nothing you can do to stop them. You cant even ask them to stay. All you can do is watch them abandoning you as you struggle for oxygen and panic as to why you cant move or breathe or even talk.

Worst dream I had was waking up, and while I get up from bed the floor disappears and I start falling just to wake up from it and think ufff what a nightmare just to getting up this time for real and it wasn't... and start falling again and wake up again so afraid to move wondering if I was awake or still asleep...

Was terrible the feeling

Now that i think of it, the last time i had a bad dream that left me creeped out for a while (and it takes something really bad to creep me out) was a few weeks ago. I woke up in the middle of some remote savannah in the middle of the day. Remaining calm - this has happened to me before, i started walking in the direction of a mountain in order to use the high ground to see further. On my way there i came across a steep hill i couldnt climb, but there was a tree that would allow for a jump from the branches to the top of the hill/cliff thing. As i climbed into the tree, i found the weirdest things. A thin yellow mattress, a few worn dolls, various shades and paterns of cloth fragments, and some pillows. Then i heard a very strange sound outside and instinctively knew i had to hide. Then i saw it. A yellow humanoid with no face or ears. Just fully yellow. It started running at me and it scared me enough to wake me up.

This isn't a thread for jokes. If you're just going to crack a pun, don't post here.

Same goes for all of you who posted joke-ish "nightmares". Go throw that crap in flood.

In his defense, this DID actually happen.

On topic: I tend to forget all my dreams. Most of course I don't remember at all, as I think is the case with most dreams of most people anyway. But even the few that I remember initially after sometimes a day, sometimes a few weeks disappear from my memory.

However I do remember that in the past I used to have a lot of those nightmares where you feel like falling into an abyss and I'd wake up absolutely terrified and confused. So those are the worst I can remember anyway. I vaguely recall that I had worse. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and not actually wanting to return to sleep because I was afraid the nightmare would continue. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I no longer know what these nightmares actually were.
