Can you run normally the original Freelancer game after installing Discovery?

Sorry for the noobish question;

Does Discovery alter the original freelancer in any way? I mean, if I install it, thereafter, will I be able to run the regular game (Freelancer) without any problem or change on it?

They both run right installed in the same system?

The installing progress will copy original files to another location and alter them there.
Nothing will be lost.

Discovery will delete saved file from original one. Because when disco load original saving files, it will mostly crash.

And yes, they can work fine together.

Yes.
The solution is backup your saved files after playing original.
And paste them back to save folder before playing original.
