Switching out renders and colors is well and good, but have you thought about using a different sort of background altogether? Variety isn't a bad thing, you know.

It's still missing a border. Seriously, just draw a recangle in Paint.

How's this? I took a spaceship texture and cut it down to a 5 pixel wide border... =P

I would say try a more plain border, like black with white outline. The texture seems out of place...
