As some of you may have noticed, I like to take my camera ship out to film the random unplanned battles in NY between Outcasts and lawfuls. Sometimes this leads to me roaming around a bit on the ship - of course not interacting inRP with anyone, until I get bored and eventually leave.
I was informed that this may cause trouble, but I felt sure that as long as I did no type of RP or something affecting other people I would stay out of trouble. I'd just like to find out if I'm doing anything wrong here.
TL;DR, can I take my camera ship to unplanned random fights and then roam around silently after they finish?
Yes, you can. Make sure your camera ship is at least neutral to all partaking parties, by taken Freelancer ID on the camera ship. Make sure you never tractor something, don't go too close into the fight (like, especially in snub fights, don't go closer than 1k) and don't write anything in local/system, only pink or green. Don't talk to people while they are in a fight, as that is kind of annoying for them, and don't comment a fight. If you are on a camera ship, shut up and enjoy the scenery.
I've got my own camera ship personally for pictures to upload in my spare time. Other players have informed me it was best to use a recruit id and to not use it to any metagaming purposes for which none of the sort has been done. You could do the same, but your id and ship is your choice.
As for what sombera said, it would be best not to do those things.
