My RL obligations have altered my timetable, although hopefully in the coming week or so I can see about getting the ball rolling again. Thanks for the support peeperinos

i think the entire reason it created activity was because it was two factions that most groups have actual dealings with.
I agree.
We need conflicts that actually make people go emotional, passionate about them.
At the moment, there is literally no place in Disco to spark passion, to make leaders motivate their players, for players to feel that "there is something to do that is worth it!".
Emotional investment is what has made the Delta conflicts good.
Not saying everything was great, actually lots of things were not.
BUT: at a time when there are barely 50 players on at prime time, we should look at solutions that get players involved again with Disco.
Then people should start logging instead of counter-logging. I think they need something achievable. Maybe the OFL-Leaders should work on rewarding their people's ingame activity a bit. Core could use a high-score board for Marduk-hunting. I know for fact that some NL PoBs are a bit desperate about their BS-remain supply since Core doesn't do that anymore really.

You still wouldn't have to deal with Lyth ingame and regulation of ingame actions would be mediated by someone else to prevent anything that can be regarded as abusive. That was a serious problem resolution, not me being a jerk.
I'm helping set up an event that will be for the benefit of the entire server right now, so please don't throw stones, Alley.

Core does have a sort of missions and rewards board. Maybe it can see a return once we get some cash.
As expressed in the OP factions really are under-rewarded for contributing to the mod, and as such it leads to great demotivation in both the leaders and members. I seriously think we need a sort of system that acknowledges and rewards people for their hard work. I always felt the FSR system had the foundations to be a platform that recognized legitimate player and leader talent, although it was greatly underutilised and ended up highlighting the inefficiency of the request system more than anything.
I think generally speaking in this community, both in and out of factions, the efforts and hard work is players is underappreciated. This creates a loss of interest, and players who like their effort is meaningless ultimately leave.
Okay, judging by opinions here my current ideas are looking at a way to create short-term, activity-centric things to do in the Omicrons, before eventually settling in to something more long term for the players to get involved with. Before my ban I had worked on a massive list of story content and the like to do, and I have been talking to @Foxglove in regards to some of the more Nomad related things on that list 8)
I think then perhaps closing the lid on, or at least giving a temporary conclusion to, the Freeport 11 / Delta drama stuff in the near future would be good. IIRC Spazzy said there was going to be an event or something related to those Zoner Battleship plats at the FP11 (are those still there?). Something in regards to destroying those could be worthwhile looking into. Who are the Zoner reps? I would be interested in getting in contact with them.
And then once that's done we could look into creating long term story arcs of some sort to help maintain interest.
That's a shame. I'll be honest and say they were an incredibly, bloody annoying, hug magnent. But an event involving them rather than their outright deletion would have been a better course of action.
CoF is sadly extremely sleepy since Arioch left. OSI is still pretty active, but we won't partake in combat situations. Was a bit lame to see that the ships we paid a billion bonus credits for left without any notification. Like, the idea of an optional event goal was pretty great, as Core was blocking Kappa pretty nicely and all that. I can't say we wasted the billion. Can't say we'd do that again, though.

I'm borderline tempted to have a go at Zonering again, to be honest. Or take Nesrin in that direction. Run a Zoner group that tries to do what the COF does a-la phoenix or Omicroners (with less caps). Try to federate things a bit. We need a -zoner- group again to match alongside specialist zoners (who also have their place) such as TAZ and OSI and IRG.
Remember when I ran CW? Was fun.
Unfortunately, I don't want to distract from current UN'ing unless I have a good 2ic.
