pachyderm mining premium scrap

would i be able to mine premium scrap with pachyderm Junker ID and junker IFF?

As far as I know. The only ships the can mine premium scrap are the CSV, CSF, the Junker SHF, and Scrapper frigate.

People who are junkers, please correct me for my utter failure at explaining that.

You can mine premium scrap in it. However, it gets no bonus so change it to something that has one unless you want to be stuck in the field forever.
Check @"K.Reddy"'s link for more info on that, section's name is "Eligible IFF ID Ship combinations"

how did they pick salvager to have a bonus? is that the biggest that can mine with bonus?

Well, it still is a Junker ship so it should be pretty much guaranteed to be able mine a fragton of scrap. Yes, it's the biggest.

A small addendum: You can't really mine Premium Scrap in a Gallic ship, for these reasons:

1. The Pachyderme is Gallic in origin - and the Libertonian military forces would likely shoot you down if they spot ya in it.
2. Even with the Junker ID, you can't get the bonus in such a ship.

Hence why, everyone advises you to head for Vieques Shipyard, Puerto Rico system, and get a Salvager frigate.

Don't. Capital ships aren't all they're cracked up to be. Stick with fighter craft, bombers, and transports.
