Hallo everyone, your resident Rooski potato needs some info.
What are the best bombers in the game and what makes them best? For cap hunting, piracy, group fights, duels, for noobz or MLG_420_SNACIT players. No restrictions on categories or factions.
I'm looking forward to reading detailed opinions of experienced players.
Warran is a popular choice. it can hold 3 cruise/torpedo slots, has two rear guns and four in front. Slower turning than a upholder, but has more armor than it. Good for sieging capital ships.

After the changes I did half a year ago they're all pretty much balanced for the role they do.
Cap fighting = any bomber, heavies are the best in terms of dps but worst in survivability. If it's caps only you should always use heavy bombers.
Piracy = loadout dependent, hellfires are a mandatory and any sort of efficient guns for maximum dps (SNAC is bad for piracy, novas are alright but situational, new bombs seem really good)
Group fights = highly situational, if you mean a fight where all classes are fighting each other then light bombers will survive the longest but they have the lowest dps.
Duels = doesn't matter, any bomber can beat any bomber, although heavies are much easier to hit so anything that's not a heavy or a big medium bomber is alright. Having an extra gun also helps, which makes BHG or Core bomber one of the best.
Noob friendly bomber = a heavy bomber shooting novas at caps at safe distance.
MLG_420_SNACIT = get good. Any bomber works. Watch my montages and the angle I approach the targets.
Keep in mind that this is all in regards to the SNAC still being in the game. From what I've heard it'll get removed in the future, and if that happens I can see heavy bombers becoming much more stronger once they can't get instakilled anymore.
Edit: I'll throw my opinion on the best in each subclass:
The best light: Cougar
The best medium: Kaichou
The best heavy: Nanda Devi

This could be literally inversed and then it'd sound correct. Scorchers are the ones amazing for piracy while SNAC and ASURAS are terrible. Efficiency is by far the most important stat here because it directly goes into max dps. Scorchers have almost double the efficiency compared to the SNAC, not to mention you can't block them with a shield regen to negate a portion of damage (light or med transport shield).
Kaichou because the snac is centered, the ship is small enough to last long enough against snubs and if you can aim the snac well enough, you might even kill snubs and feed off their bots to keep you fighting even longer.

My claim is just fine and is correct.
Efficiency my ass. Good luck effectively hitting a TSing transport/GB while dodging solaris guns. You have to go close range and even then some of the shots will MISS
Scorchers are terrible for medium ships . They bring you into horrible positions so that you get hit effectively. Also, 1 scorcher hit is like... 1/10 the hull while a snac hit is 1/3 with a transport using armor. Snacs allow you to position yourself BETTER than scorcher bombs and you can even hit FARTHER.
For suitability i would choose snac over stupid scorcher any day.

Are you pirating gunboats?
Here's the thing. If there's a turret steering battletransport and bigger, you will be hitting it consistently with the scorchers as well as the SNAC, but since the scorcher has almost double the efficiency it's better against them than the SNAC period.
If there's a turret steering transport smaller than the battletrans, neither the scorchers nor the SNAC are the best solution, but hellfires, chainguns or energy cannons are. However, if the transport is turret steering and fighting you back, chances are it's not running towards the base, or if he is he's getting there much slower, giving you more time to kill him.
In any case, you have tools to deal with any kind of a transport - the 3 guns for smaller ones and scorchers for bigger ones, but none of them is the SNAC. You -can- use it, but it's not as good as other options. If you rely on the SNAC and ASURAS only, the transport will survive much longer than if you use an optimal loadout. I remember doing tests with Karst a while ago, a SNAC+EMP bomber will down an AU VIII Serenity in about 40k, while the one with hellfires and energy cannons will do the same in ~20k, depending on the percentage of hellfires hit it can be even less. Not only that, but you can afford to straight up tank transports because you deal so much dps (max efficiency = max dps in the long run) that you can afford to trade regens and speed up the process significantly more if you're short on time.
