Looks way better withno the drill. Have you ever thought about removing the side angines and replacing them with some containers or access points? Or both with additional smaller engines.

to be honest, I think the drill looks nice with it, it just had to be more connected to the rest of the ship and the engines are great, there are too less ships with those engines
