I have recenlty returned to Disco. And I've been familiarizing myself with the changes that have occurred in the time I've been away. There has been, however, one particular change that begs the question of both purpose and implementation:
Quote: 2.3 No ponies, furries, or direct imports are allowed
Now, I have no Idea on how and when this rule was implemented, but I do know a few people who RPd characters falling under that rule. Despite being ill-recived by some parts of the community (especially @Omicron) they did, in my opinion, provide good RP and gave diversity to the characters one could encounter in space.
Of course, one could say, it's not "lore" to have such a character, but then again, there are whole factions who have no basis in lore, such as the Core.
So if someone could enlighten me on
Why the rule was implemented
When the rule was added
What happened to the RP that was affected by the addition of the rule
Actually, adding ponies to Disco RP is batfrag insane. And this comes from a guy who roleplays one on a dedicated forum. We have sci-fi here, not some multiverse crossover. However, banning pictures is toppest kek. Inb4 Thomas the Tank Engine ban or Transformers ban or RWBY ban or you know where I'm going with that.
I give no frag about furries if they are able to RP instead of snowflaking around and simply ERPing left and right.

even if they are good roleplayers don't you think its still kind of absurd to have a furry, pony, or Han solo at the helm of a ship?
I think at least some structure is necessary, otherwise there are other places to fulfill that kind of character. I think this rule has been around for about as far as I can remember in some shape or fashion even if it was more along the lines of general RP guidelines and less specific.
