1. The actions of a member of the community in which was taken out of context to an unseen level and thus used as a means to stop the RP of a last few others dead cold.

3. For myself. Pretty much the reason why I barely even come here much more. Aazalot changed his character but I don't know how it affected him otherwise. The member which was the center of the incident has had a lot of RL problems and psychological trouble which he still has to deal with to this day for feeling he was the root cause for the rule change.

even if they are good roleplayers don't you think its still kind of absurd to have a furry, pony, or Han solo at the helm of a ship?

I think at least some structure is necessary, otherwise there are other places to fulfill that kind of character. I think this rule has been around for about as far as I can remember in some shape or fashion even if it was more along the lines of general RP guidelines and less specific.

The last few players to do so were HIGHLY structured for themselves, not just myself included. And yes, there are other places for such, but only one Discovery.

We've had everything from importing of klingons to sentient trees to Mastermind incarnate (Huggie's Nomad for the Oracles) to Dr. Robotnik and Vampires over the years but I guess its sad to say that they don't have the same impact for banning/outcry as such stated for this thread. But people nowadays are so hurt for their feelings of "MUH IMMERSHION!!!" that they have to go and cry hollow tears to either have the player stop such or the right to ignore their RP.

Oh how far we have fallen and it shows every day when the players online tab doesn't even click over 60.
