6.5 Buying an ID will not automatically mean that player becomes part of appropriate player faction

Apologies in advance for going over what to many must see as old ground :(

Does this mean for example One wouldnt be able to buy a Rhineland Police ID tag, then RP on the server with other players in accordance with their character ID tag without joining the clan who operating the Rhineland Police.
I can see the benefits of clan factions; the organisation would give aide to better Role Playing, but then what about those players who dont want to commit a clan for a number of reasons, but would still like to part take in RP on Disco server.

then simply buy ID, Banshee or Phantom and role play as RH police...and better be good at it...

That line of the rules refers more specifically to player faction specific IDs, which currently include:

The Keepers ID
Coalition ID
Asgard Warriors ID
Phantoms ID
Das Wilde ID
Helghast ID

Did I miss any?

Well i think its safe to say that If you get a Merc ID you will not become part of a Merch clan/fraction.
And the same goes for any other groups. but you will be part of the RP fraction your ID says, so make sure your IFF and ID match.

So dont go Corsair ID and have Navy IFF and so on.
ID and IFF goes hand in hand.

I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

Yep, the vast majority of the (NovaPG) converted to [HG] and the faction leader converted it. There are still NovaPG which use their ID, but they are now an unofficial group rather than the official faction, the [HG].

TK9780: Heh, you should see Xeno attacks. XA is an official faction on the server, but there are still tons of indie Xenos that join up in attacks, and all of them have fun. The restriction of indies by certain factions is only in place to prevent a few elements from ruining an image of an entire faction with their stupidity. It may look harsh but it only filters out the idiots. If you put in some effort into RP and act in RP in accordance to the player faction, you will find that the player faction won't have anything against you.

Actually it was a legit question, not a faction flame. So your pie will remain uncooked forever.

Although if you want to be Rheinland Military, either apply for the faction or be VERY GOOD with your RP. If you aren't, you, err, get marked as an enemy of the state...

Not that I blame them, you wouldn't believe what comes through, but that is probably the one case where you really should join the faction to enjoy yourself. Everyone else will welcome you as a brother in arms, so long as you don't try to order them around.

Speaking of Rheinland, if you want a place where indie/playerfaction really has no meaning, join up with one of the Rheinland pirate NPC factions. None of the factions claim to be unilateral factions, so just RP with your ship and you're good to go! YEEEHAW!!!
