The doctors carefully laid Hemlock on his stomach one a bed. "Get him into a separate room and get thst out of his back." The doctors took Hemlock to the next room and began the procedure.
"I wish I had something for you Admiral, but I don't have anything new." Nova was concerned. Whatever Nomad plot was going on, it was clear it didn't involve Hemlock, given the attempt on his life. Beyond what would happen next, she had no idea where to go. "Sir, an individual known as Reaper attacked the ship and their crew. Killed a few of them. They used Navy gear to do it, Hemlock thinks you or Admiral Jones authorized the attack. You didn't.. did you?"
Sader looked on Nova and lighted a cigarette. "Reaper? Intresting. Well the attack was not azthorized or planned by me. And when it comes to Alan he did not order it either. On the other hand i want that artifact destroyed before more people get hurt. Get both Reyes and Hemlock to separate isolation rooms. Seems standard medical rooms are not good." He exhaled some smoke then grabbed his communicator. "Sader to Stevens.""Sir?""Board the ship with your men escort every crew member off the ship to separate isolation rooms. And place 2 guards at every door. Also seal the decks where they will be.""Roger that sir." With this the marine teams quickly started boarding the ship and escorted everyone off.
Having heard Sader's order, Hemlock shoved the medical personnel away, the spike still lodged in his back. "Just because.. I have a spike in my back.. and my XO is out of the loop doesn't mean you can.. just make my entire crew scarce..."
He stammered forward, regaining his balance somewhat as he approached Sader. "If you think I'll stand idly by.. while my entire crew's rights are violated.. then you've got another thing coming.."
"Get them off my ship.."
Reyes continued to mumble, the sedative easily knocking her out soon after.
Nova briefly sighed before ordering her men to destroy the artifact. "Hemlock please, sit down. You're injured enough as is, we don't need a fight to break out in here, not in your condition." Nova's operatives placed the artifact into an explosive containment device alongside a small pack of moderate-yeild explosives. After safely behind a blast wall, the artifact was blown up to ensure nothing remained, the operatives checked to ensure it was a pile of ashes.
"No. Screw that. I've since tolerated him taking me, my best friend and every single branch of authority from that ship. Now he wants to completely vacate the whole place? It's not happening."
Instead of a pile of ash, the artifact seemed to have completely disappeared. There was no influence on anyone anymore, Reyes' mumbling having ceased and the sedative now completely taking over, and Hemlock seemed a little less angry, but still flat out pissed.
Smoking his cigarette he turned towards Hemlock "Listen to me Captain. And listen good. Be happy that i did not arrest you already for the crimes you've commited. And untill further notice you or anyone from your crew will not approach that ship. If you continue this behaviour then you will see how thin my patience really is, and you will find yoruself in a nice cell awaiting court martial. Do you understand me?!"
"Crimes?! What crime have I committed?! Bringing the ship back? Doing my god damned job? Tell me wh-.. actually, don't."
He walked towards Reyes and whoever was holding her. He gently pushed them away from her, pulling her arm over his good shoulder and turning towards the door, grunting a little with the spike still in his back. "This is without a doubt the most disrespectful and unlawful crap I've ever seen, and to see it coming from a prestigious admiral is just insulting. Look through the Bay all you want, but when your people don't find jack squat, don't come crying to me."
He slowly started walking Reyes out. "And don't touch my CD collection.. It's worth more than the Missouri.."
"Nova.. can you lead me to wherever this 'isolation room' is? If at all possible, I'd like a window so I can watch your boss go through every single thing I own like the inconsiderate numbskull he is.."
"Admiral with all due respect, the only thing we have is possession of an artifact and being MIA for a year, we've pieced together most of the rest. But if you charge him and have any of them locked up, it'll heavily impact my investigation. So please, hold off on the charges. Hemlock, please calm down, you've just been stabbed for Christ sake. I'll take you to them but I know the Admiral won't allow you two in the same one. I'm sorry, I can't override his decisions." Nova started to the door, but slowly, watching to see if Sader's pair of marines would stand in her way.
"Negative Nova. Go back to the ship and take command of it. Marines get Hemlock and take cuff him to the bed. Doc take care of both Reyes and Hemlock. Also sedate Hemlock if he tries to resist." With a quick "Aye aye sir" the marines walked to Hemlock grabbed him and back to the other bed.
"Get your god damned hands off me! This is so a violation of my civil rights!"
He clearly resisted, using what strength he had to force himself free, stumbling forward towards a wall. He caught himself, looking back at them. "You wanna go?! I'm not the one who started all of this!"
He seemed to ignore the spike in his back, the pain being overwhelmed by the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He took up a defensive stance. "I know Kenpo, guys.. I'd rather not use it against loyal marines, so this is your one chance to us your own heads rather than that of the clearly incompetent Admiral here.."
Reyes was helped by one of the docs, them sitting her on one of the beds. She mumbled, looking up blurrieyed at her CO. "Hrmmhmm...."
