The thing is, a leader with a bad attitude can hold his faction hostage completely. Theres no way to presently remove them, the 'best' someone can do in response to an abusive, inactive or otherwise irresponsible faction lead, is to make a 'revenge' faction to take over

Making a revenge faction leads to sanctions. Making a better faction is alright, but first speak to the 1iC and be respectful and friendly towards each other.

Another thing, snow. Being a good leader isn't decided by how much activity you do. it is about good decision making.

Real example is TBH:
Clavius is away for a long time now and didnt say what he is doing. There is also no active 2iC.
Now if a noob to the faction was doing a lot of rp inside, would he deserve to be leader? No. He wouldn't.

I believe 30 days of inactivity on the forums to be more than adequate.

Speaking as someone who hasn't been here for any drama and is relatively new to the server, this sounds great.

These are official factions we're talking about, and the leaders of such factions should at least have the common sense of notifying at least one person of their absence. No reasons need to be given, but if a faction becomes inactive as a result of someone's unwillingness or inability to communicate, then quite frankly, they don't deserve that role. I think people sometimes forget that leaders have obligations towards their followers too.

There doesn't need to be any drama at all, this just seems logical, if you ask me.

Really? If both the 1ic and 2ic are gone, wouldn't the person actively RPing deserve to be leader? I really don't understand your logic here.

You're saying that the 1ic of a faction should be treated like they were the infallible pope, and no matter what life decisions they make or how they treat their fation/community, they should simply be humored on the basis of....Well you haven't presented a basis for it.

Being a Good Leader -is- decided by how active you are, and making good decisions. I'd point at Arbs of [LN] as a good representation of this, active on Skype and on the Forums, and shows up ingame from time to time too. Thunderer is another good example, and Wesker too.

I dont believe in karma, but I will say that IRG deserves it. 6months of waiting for my rp with them and then I final gave up. They however cannot wait more than 1 month while they tell me to be patient and wait.

What has the IRG done with all the RP they were hired by factions to do? not much besides helping Aux and stuff.
They have not done other things and now they cannot be patient themselves.

I dont believe in karma, but I will say that IRG deserves it. 6months of waiting for my rp with them and then I final gave up. They however cannot wait more than 1 month while they tell me to be patient and wait.

What has the IRG done with all the RP they were hired by factions to do? not much besides helping Aux and stuff.
They have not done other things and now they cannot be patient themselves.

Well the fact is, the 2ic simply does not have the same level of access as the 1ic does. The 1ic has access to OFL chat, direct admin contact, access to the Dev Forum, which the 2ic simply does not have.

you've got to be kidding me if you say that arbs is active on forums when he doesn't bother to reply to a thread without being poked by an admin about it.

Activity doesn't cut it to be leader. GOOD activity is good. There is also such a thing as bad activity.

No one will take over TBH because the leader knows the faction inside out. That is what makes a faction leader good: you cant replace him wven if you wanted to because they dedicated the time to be THAT good at it.

OFL is a crap hole.
Admins tend to ignore 1ic unless harassed.
1ic have no access to dev forum

Eh, if the 1ic is irreplacable...it means they did so on purpose, as in, created their RP, and set up their faction so they could hold it hostage...
