Faction synopsis.

Die Weiße Rose Widerstandsbewegung (White Rose resistance movement) is the leading political and militarian influence within the Bundschuh movement. The faction handles the Bundschuh matters and its own by a strict democratic role. The militarian arm of the Weiße Rose is the "Armee der Weißen Rose" (Army of the white rose) which uses all possible paramilitary assets available to the Bundschuh to fight against the enemies of the movement. The political part of the movement, the "Partei für ein neues Rheinland" (Party for a new Rheinland), sets the political course of the Bundschuh movement and assures its diplomatic success. The Weiße Rose was officially founded due to the great political crisis of 823 A.S. when the many different factions within the Bundschuh attempted to run as its governing body due to the absence of the Bundschuhpartei's representatives. The activists of the Weiße Rose think that a more radical attempt than the VWA ones is needed but a less radical one than the Hessians, therefore finding a balance. The movement takes the biggest part in securing the people that live in the current Rheinland tragedy regions (e.g. Omega-11 and Munich) and is being funded by several government insiders and wealthy donors.

History.

Early beginnings.

Die Weiße Rose was once known as "Bundschuh Angriffsgeschwader 039", a squadron of only a few fighters and gunboats that based out of Bruchsal. The squadron was founded in 820 A.S. as a response to the advancement of Liberty during the Rheinland - Liberty war, the squadron aimed to attack Rheinland Military ships in Hamburg, where the gate was destroyed by the Rheinwehr. Back then, the squadron consisted out of 6 people only and played a minor role in the events of the movement. Members of this squadron eventually got to know each other and became trusted comrades. Their common opinions about the Revolution and the Bundschuh brought them to the idea to name themselves the "Weiße Rose Schwadron". At that time, the name had not much of a meaning other than being something the pilots chose to show their bond. It didn't take long until the first discussions about the Bundschuh's stance on things were, especially regarding the pacifism that caused the faction to become weak and forgotten. Helena Wunderbring, the leader of the squadron, saw this kind of discussion as a signal that something was fundamentally wrong with the movement. She declared regular meetings between the squadron members. Their plan became an objective to fight for, they wanted the Bundschuhpartei to listen to their suggestions and possibly accept a few of them. However, this proved to be quite difficult. The movement's wide variety of people, reaching from academics to almost terroristic pirates who may share the Bundschuh's goal but ignored their way of behaving, to peaceful protesters, made it difficult to convince a bright mass of people, especially during the "reign" of Freya Eistochter, the witch of Frankfurt. Freya was, compared to the biggest part of the movement, radical and brutal in her position as the Partyvorsitzende.

Rising from the shadows.

The attempts to become a politically successful entity within the movement failed several times and the group became unmotivated. The Eistochterists still dominated the political side as a new leadership had reached the top of the Bundschuh which founded a new paramilitary known as the "Vereinigte Widerstandsarmee". The VWA went along the path that the Weiße Rose squadron expected, a pacifist and liberal approach to gain an influence within Rheinland, mainly with propaganda. While this approach wasn't completely condemned by Wunderbring and her allies, it was seen as weak and inefficient, the people of Rheinland may bow to words if their position doesn't allow them to do anything else but the spirit of a Rheinländer was to fight, and that is what the Weiße Rose knew they would do if the Bundschuh doesn't. To avoid any threats or attempts to demean them as traitors, the Weiße Rose searched for supporters of their opinions, this happened mostly by silent searches. As expected, this ensured that the flow of supporters was very stagnant and low at first. For a year, the squadron gathered allies and their own supplies, splitting from the Bundschuh wasn't prohibited but a wide variety of people meant a wide variety of reactions, hostility was to be avoided until strength could be responded with. Wunderbring, together with her political partner wrote a plan for a political party that was similar but not the same as the Bundschuh Partei, represented by Eistochter. The politics were to become more liberal towards allies, as the VWA saw the Hessians as their questionable friends, as an example. The act of revolution became more radical in that sense, while not as peaceful as the VWA, it should not become as violent as the Red Hessians.

To the front.

The initial "push" of the Weiße Rose began recently in 823 A.S. The disappearance of Oberst Haupt of the VWA and other important resistance elements caused the movement to divide itself more and more. The political direction of the Bundschuh was questioned several times and split groups rose their voices with the wish to lead the movement into a bright future, no matter if by force or by words.The Eistochterists, with their iron fist under the strong Bundschuhpartei, tried to keep the direction their way, but a large part of the Bundschuh was tired of the pressure that the party made. The Klugmann's had their violently peaceful methods, opposed by the violent and radical part of the movement. The Haupts followed Dr. Annika Jana Haupt, commanding officer of the VWA, who was rather close to the Klugmannists than the Eistochterists. Several minor so-called "sects" of the movement voiced their opinions as well, Die Festung, Die Kerzen von Hamburg, die Roten Adler and the Hamburger Vereinigung für Entwicklung und Bildung (HVEB). Out of those, the VWA won the power back then, the Weiße Rose was not a part of such a party collective, their plans remained only for the interested ones. The shaking ground on which the Bundschuh was standing at that time provided the ideal start for the Weiße Rose to attempt its push into the leadership. The announcement of the Weiße Rose as a part of the Bundschuh together with a competing political party was met with mixed reactions. Due to the long search for Aktivisten to help, the Weiße Rose had a slight numerical advantage towards smaller groups. The plans of their alternate political party, the "Partei für ein neues Rheinland" became official and were made public. Convinced by the will to change something within the ranks of the Weiße Rose, they immediately started working on their goals, aiming to push the Bundschuhpartei and the VWA away from their throne.

Goals.

Primary.

- Overthrow the current government of Rheinland with political activism and militaristic methods.
- Establish a more functioning, uncorrupt and equal social democracy after the principles of the Partei für ein neues Rheinland.
- Gather allies for the revolution by keeping the public up-to-date with the Bundestag's acts of treachery against Rheinland's citizens.

Secondary.

- Bring as many activists to the Weiße Rose movement as possible.
- Protect the citizens of Rheinland from their own claimed protégés.
- Save the refugees from Nuremberg and Omega-11 before it is too late.
- Destroy the BDM and the Unioners by any means necessary.
- Free Saalburg from Corsair influence and either take it ourselves or hand it to the Hessians.
- Keep the Bundschuh technologically advanced.

- Assist the Red Hessians against the Corsairs.

Modus Operandi.

Armee der weißen Rose - DWR|A-

The paramilitary of the Weiße Rose is responsible for militaristic actions against the "lawful" assets of Rheinland. A fight cannot be won only through words. The activists of the Weiße Rose fight mostly through overt methods due to the shadiness of covert operations within Rheinland. The people are supposed to see that something is happening, inspiration shall follow.

Partei für ein neues Rheinland - DWR|P- and DWR|PSNR-

The PNR denounces ideologies in their common type and rather uses common sense to determine the political direction of the Bundschuh. Every member of the Weiße Rose is a soldier and an activist for the party who operates outside of Rheinland space to spread knowledge and information to the common person and try to raise interest in the struggle. However, a person doesn't have to be a soldier to be an activist, anyone can be.

Radio Weiße Rose

The Radio Weiße Rose is the tool to spread the word of the movement through the channels of Rheinland. It is being transmitted from Cloppenburg and is available to anyone. Anyone can have a word through this station on request.

Zone of influence.

Frankfurt

The Frankfurt system is the heart of the Bundschuh's operations. Due to the location of the local sanctum of resistance "Bruchsal", the number of activists in this system is extremely high. Bruchsal is the place where the most influential members of the Bundschuh reside and operate from. Although the location of Bruchsal is not a secret eversince the Nomad War in 800 A.S. the local authorities cannot hit largely on the base and are mostly being fought off aggressively. From Bruchsal, activists can quickly reach the neighboring Sigma-13 and Luneburg (Sigma-15) system. The Munich anomay has shifted near Saalburg, however.

Munich

A troublesome system for the Bundschuh. Due to the crisis of the radioactive cloud that is slowly swallowing the system, the Weiße Rose saves refugees from Nuremberg and brings them to Bruchsal, where some of them deicde to stay and side with the activists, and then to Erie where the people start a new life. Munich has the second highest Bundschuh activity, the activists operate from Eltmann Moor, a small outpost in the Schwarzwald cloud.

Luneburg (Sigma-15)

Luneburg is the Weiße Rose's gate to the Omicrons, where they can aid their Order allies. The system has only few inhabitants, most of which live on the moon "Hammersee" and the Bundschuh base "Bielefeld". A few Zoners have settled down on the local Freeport and are at peace with the Bundschuh. The Core is a big threat that is able to come to Rheinland from there.

Sigma-13

The close system Sigma-13 is controlled entirely by the GMG. The Weiße Rose receives H-Fuel shipments from the close anomaly to Bruchsal. The GMG's sovereignity is being respected and protected whenever possible.

Bremen

A system that is only reachable by traveling across the Frankfurt system or by coming from Hamburg. Bremen's distance and quietness from all the trouble gave the Weiße Rose the idea to plan all sorts of transmissions from there and use the local base "Cloppenburg" as a hideout when the conflict is too hot. Cloppenburg is the base where the Weiße Rose sends its radio transmissions from. The only staging point of the Rheinwehr is the RNC-Braunschweig that is laying a keen eye on the activities in the system.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire, a system scarred by the Rheinland-Liberty war, is being protected by a minefield when coming from Rheinland. This fends off prosecutors and gives activists the possibility to hide on Geneva, a base where the wrecks of the Wraith-classes of the Rheinwehr are being repaired and constructed. The system is under Liberty's control, therefore no threat by the Rheinwehr is to be expected. The LNS-Whitefield, the battleship that looks over the Bremen-New Hamphire connection, assures this.

New Berlin

Due to the dissolvement of the LWB, Kaiserslautern Depot, the only unlawful stronghold in New Berlin fell into the hands of the Bundschuh with many LWB members defecting to the movement. This made operating in New Berlin very easy and the capital planet, and thus, the people, more reachable for the introduction of our politics.

Hamburg

Hamburg is largely unused by the Weiße Rose as something other than a passing system when the activists are on their way to Liberty. The Unioners control most of the system, their nemesis, Alster Shipyard, is in the center of the system and a feeling of nationalistic rise-up is spreading through the system.

Stuttgart

Once the core of the LWB's efforts against Synth Foods on planet Stuttgart, the system lacked any unlawful presence useful for the Bundschuh eversince the faction dissolved and Darmstadt was deconstructed. Now the only place for criminals to hide is the Cruiser Greifswald, which was handed to the Gaians and thus proves little to no support for the local groups.

Koeln

A system where the Unioners have the most influence. Heisenberg Research Station is the only valuable place for the Weiße Rose, as it is a possibility to recruit several Freelancers that find their way to this station for various reasons. The only local lawful base is Wuppertal Refinery, an ALG base, which poses no threat to the Bundschuh due to their understanding.

Dresden

Dresden was once home of the Bundschuh's depot "Zwickau", which got destroyed in a brawl between the Rheinwehr and the Red Hessians, which is why many of the Bundschuh activists, especially the remnants of the VWA, hold a grudge against them. Recently, members of another Bundschuh group managed to free Bautzen from Krüger's control, therefore bringing it in the hands of the Bundschuh. The station is still under repairs from the Weiße Rose. The only lawful resistance is the RNC-Altenburg, a Bismarck-class that is in need of constant repairs due to its proximity to Vogtland.

Omega-7

The bordering system of Stuttgart, Omega-7, is rather tough to reach due to the only safe way entering it being the Hessian guard system Omega-54, which is a big inconvenience. The mining corporations Krüger Mineralien and Daumann Heavy Construction, as well as the IMG are mainly operating in the system. Only rarely is an activist to be seen there.

Omega-11

Pressured by the soon-to-explode-red giant within the system, Omega-11 has become another source of danger for Rheinland and its citizens. The Weiße Rose is mainly using the Hessian outpost "Freital" as a source for cheap Blood Diamonds that they can haul to Liberty to bring Pharmaceuticals back. The system is going to go supernova in the near future.

Generaloberst

The Generaloberst is the militarian leader of the Weiße Rose. He coordinates attacks and other actions that the Weiße Rose has to follow, the Generaloberst is also the Generalsekretär of the "Partei für ein neues Rheinland" and makes sure that all political aspects are being reflected correctly within the military. He also takes care of the military diplomacy of the Weiße Rose. He is the leader of the revolution in Rheinland.

Oberst

The Oberst is replacing the old "Major" rank. The Oberst's are the assistants of the Generaloberst and command the forces of the Bundschuh in the absence of the leader. They are permitted to command all ships and call for strikes and other operations. They primarily act as advisors for the Generaloberst. There can be two Obert's at once.

Hauptmann

A Hauptmann is the highest commanding officer of the mid-command. They may execute strikes with permission of the Oberst and Major and hold authority over other soldiers. They are sometimes allowed to give their opinion on strategical moves within the Weiße Rose.

Kommandant

Kommandanten are the Aktivisten and soldiers that have shown a strong and great will to succeed in their military career. They are allowed to fly gunboats and take bigger roles in all operations, especially when being the highest commanding officer.

Soldat

Soldaten are the members that have been fully accepted into the ranks of the Weiße Rose and thus are being considered a fully-fledged member. They will continue their political and militant career from this point on but are still in a learning phase under higher ranked soldiers.

Rekruten are recently accepted members on probation. Some of them hold great talent that will be discovered while they prove their worth to the Weiße Rose. Most of the knowledge will be brought to them over time.

The Quartiermeister is in charge for the logistical division of the DWR and is the go-to-person for any requests relating technology that is hard to obtain for the Weiße Rose and goes out of the ordinary. He acts under the High Command and may permit/deny requests.
