Weapons are an interesting choice, but we will need some heavy upfront investment to obtain all of the resources, given that our map does not offer them. I am tempted to set us up with a large cloth-plant site so that we can provide our peeps with clothing, but also sell off the excess for profit.
The original game had huge leeway when it comes to silver and you could farm it easily. The mods I am using will make our colony silver-starved as we will be importing around 80% of the resources we need for high-end stuff.

Looks like that means Maren won't ever get the preggers. Oh boy. Can we also produce limerock flutes, chert puzzleboxes, oak toy hammers and mudstone mini-forges? Don't tell me we can't do that!
At very start, we should produce something not require higly tech and sell well, like Food, tools, drugs, maybe clotches or just to set trade station or some kind of fun facility, like casino, theater or something.
