Ok i have to say I would make a rule that SF members can only use Bretonian and Liberty ships but then people would not want to be in the SF as they would have ship restrictions.

I Would also love if all people would use ships that fit there reputation.

Another thing is I wolud like is if pirates would have a pirate reputation as it really annoys me when i see a pirate sitting next to the police as you try running from one of them and the police just sit and watch you. (though I must admit this has got a little better lately)

Why would they?

The SF always had a ship restriction, only liberty or britonian ships.

If people want to use any ship they like then they can go freelance and do an RP story as to how and why they've got it.

Otherwise we get to the state we are in now, only the 'best' ships get used.

Marauder ... I wholeheartedly agree. The RP now is slipping away in the rush to be have
best gear. My chars all have their stories as to how and why they use what they do.
But I hate would hate to bore everyone with pages of how they came by it ... Lets just
say retired members of the [TC] had a bit of free reign when it came to weps of quality.

How about having another armor upgrade and shield for each type of fighter which can only be attached to certain factions ships

ie, BEST EQUIPMENT (numbers & names for ilustrative perposes only)

Raven Claw

Shield: Advanced Champion (lvl 10) strenght: 10,400
Hull Multiplier: 2.0x

Liberty Avenger:

Shield: Ulimate "liberty" Shield (lvl 10 (should be 11 but dont think that no can be used)) Strength 20,000
Ultimate "liberty" Hull Multipier: 2.5x

Chimera

Shield: Ulimate "Kusari" Shield (lvl 10 (should be 11 but dont think that no can be used)) Strength 20,000
Ultimate "Kusari" Hull Multipier: 2.5x

this would mean that the house had significant benefits in defence (which is thier primary role in a system) over the less well funded pirates

this idea could then be rolled over all the House ships, even with higher differences for battleships.

Marauder actually the AW would use restored BSs bought from junkers from the Sigma-13 field and other battlezones. Also we have captured BSs from houses, mainly (in and RP sense) Rheinland during the time we occupied it. But mostly we would use Osiris and Huegenots. Osiris are made by Corsairs and we are right next to them, and Outcasts have the Huegenot in production. I guess I could restrict my people to Titan, Eagle, and Sabres when the fighters are rebalanced again.

As long as people can come up with some convincing RP reason, like you have, then I don't have a problem.

Whats annoying me is the people and factions using ships so 'they can win' or 'cos they're the best' that really mess up the RP.

Trying to resist getting the best equipment isnt that hard. Anyway the whole "factions have their own ships" thing sounds fun.

I think that many if not all factions should try this idea out.

Yes, specially because now everybody is in Ravens no matter what faction they are.
I agree with Dab, AW forces should have VHF from borderworlds, captured ships from the houses (or those built during alliance times) and hueggys / ossiris.

As far as I know, the RM only have Rheinland ships.

i.e. Rheinland Gunboats, Cruisers, Battleships, Wraths, Bombers, and maybe a Phantom here or there (The ship, not the faction. :dry:).

And if anyone in the RM *dosn't* have a Rheinland ship... You better have one by the time I find you, otherwise you'll be pulling police duty in Omega 15. In a Banshee. For a month.

And if I have to, i'll get one of the admins to help me do it. :P
