I've always thought that its not really that realistic to call K kilometres and M metres, in reguards to distance in space. Bleh, freelancer has many things that are unrealistic, however, I think we could at least fix this one?
I've heard many people call "K" Kilometres and "M" Metres. I don't think that it is this way, I mean, flying 3k across space is like... nothing...
Could we invent a new discovery name for "K" that isn't kilometres, and one for "M" so it is a little more realistic?
As for your opposition to it? Those are international standard measurements, employed a lot more than anything else really. Whats the problem with it? I think it helps people to scale distances in their minds.
Technically K is more regularly used to refer to integers in the thousands though.
When I write RP stories, I write them to a more realistic scale. However, in game, K really does mean kilometres and M metres. Just look at the size of the guy in the cockpit. The game is basically scaled to his size. and as dumb as it is, we have to live with it.
like what dab said, it's all freelancer scale, so really, "K" isn't 'kilometer' it's actually Space klicks which is, as we all know, bigger than your ordinary mild-mannered klick:cool:
