Doc leaned on the bar top, his right hand scratching his chin as he looked at the presentation. He was definitely intrigued.
"Those portable units are something," he commented. "One can carry it on there back and still have full use of their arms. That will expand our ground capability a lot."
He made similar comments about the stationary units but added, "I see those as being more suitable for say, a new colony or something. You know, somewhere where people are getting a new start."

He was looking over the medical kits. "Those are almost identical to what we have here in terms of content but I like the design a bit better."
After a bit more study, he turned his attention to the professor.
"So, are you building these or are these in the design phase and in need of an engineering team to build?"

"As long as I have the materials I can build them. But...gathering supplies can be a tiresome activity. Especially... since people don't really like dealing with robots when it comes to acquisitions. Thus, I have to personally go and buy the materials."

He shows some more pictures of the Unity " As you can see, the stationary units can be found all around my ship. I've also brought ten samples of each unit type for you and your team to test."

"Speaking of production, the process is not difficult once you get the hang of it. I am sure that we can figure out a way to build some production facilities on Canaria or aboard your ships."

"Materials I can get rather easily," he quickly answered. "We have quite a bit aboard Med Force One and I have plenty of sources and friends to get them. I will take care of that."

He takes more interest in the unity. "I still think those would be great for small stations and colonies. If it's credits you're after, you could make some with those."

"Production," he thinks, "that's one area I have limited capability for. That will be something I have to think about. What kind of team do you need to build one in terms of people, space and time it takes per unit?"

"Like most things that are produced now, the whole process is automatized. But, I must admit that I do not have the capability to produce more than 10 units per day. Even so... since the production facility is set on my ship, space is something that hinders me from increase production." he looks at his glass...

"Speaking about credits... I would really like to see my inventions used for helping people, for now... I am not having any funding problems. I guess, we should see how these will come in hand in our project. If, after using them on MFE, people/governments/organizations notice them and would like to acquire them; we could set up a joint Organization that manufactures and distribute them where they are need."

Turning to fill his glass again he asks Doc, " What do you think about my idea?"

Doc grabbed the cider jug from the fridge and filled Nerva's glass.
"That's what we all desire to do in the medical and research profession," answered Doc, setting the jug on the counter, "help people. But, I would be careful when it comes to governments. I don't trust them, not a one of them." He commenced in re-filling his Scotch.
"Sure, I have at least cordial relations with all of them but their wars become a reason to harass us Zoner types and interdict trade. That said, I like doing business with independent minded groups and organizations. They have less restrictions and don't ask a million questions and trust me, there is more than enough credits to be made there."

He sipped his Scotch as he thought a moment. He nodded, "Yes, a ship can be quite restrictive for manufacturing. My lab downstairs is no better nor is it what I would use for manufacturing but...."
He thought a moment before giving a curious look to Nerva, "If you're serious about mass production, you might find a facility in Canaria City that would do. I know there is a good work force for them. What do YOU think?"

"I am extremely serious about mass production. These things are designed to be there when people need them to be." This is a nice turn of events, he thought.
"Regarding house governments... I must admit that I had no idea what your views were when it came to dealing with them. Nevertheless, I am really happy we share the same opinion when it comes to them."

Nerva takes back the media device. "I want to show you some more portable devices that are not part of the kits yet. Until I find the right ones, can you pelase elaborate more about the facilities available in Canaria City?" He starts typing and swiping left and right on the screen...

"Facilities in Canaria City," he though out loud, "That's what I'm not sure about. I mean, there have got to be places looking for a business to fill them. When we get a few minutes, we can check the local real estate listings or something but yes, I know you're serious about mass producing."

At this point, Eddie returned. "Mrs. Burns went to her guest house. I guess she was a bit exhausted from her travel."
"Eddie!" chimed Doc, "Come look at these."
He showed him the pictures and gave him time to think them over. "What do you think? Professor Nerva wants to mass produce these. I think it would be a nice market to get into but don't know where we could do it locally. I thought you might have some insight on it."

Nerva turned to both of them " I am also curious, what do you think? Can we build some production facilities here?"
Eddie scratched his head and after a short break he said " Of course we can, but finding the people to work in our facilities might be trickier."

"Oh, over 90% of the production facility will be automated. Nevertheless, we will need people to maintain the systems."
Eddie looked at Nerva and said " In that case, I think finding a competent team won't be that hard."

"Oh, I told Doc Holliday that I will show him some more stuff... err.. just a sec" Nerva shows them another first aid kit, but this one seemed to be aimed at civilians; people that have no medical training. Compared to what I have shown you until now, this one is pretty basic. What it lacks in high-tech instruments, it compensates by being extremely light and having a simple database of step-by-step procedures that can be performed with the instruments found inside it. Also, there is a nifty communicator built-in for emergencies."

Eddie was looking intently at all that was before them. He scratched his chin as he looked. It was obvious that Nerva had his attention. He also knew that such a project would be more his knowledge base than Doc's....in a way.
"Doc, if you don't mind and I intend no disrespect, I think I can better help the professor on this one," he explained to his boss. About this time, Doc's comm was notifying an incoming transmission.
"No disrespect taken," Doc answered, "I'll take the call downstairs. I'll check with you all shortly."

Doc excused himself. Unlocking the locked door, he retreated downstairs, locking the door behind him. Eddie watched as he left and turned to Nerva.
"With all due respect to my boss, for all of the medical and scientific research genius that he has, he's very lacking in engineering and mechanical ideas," he stated. He then turned his attention back to the plans.

"You want mass production of these units," he re-affirmed, "I think I have an idea that would work." He smiled a bit. He had something on his mind in a good way and it was obvious.

"Now, before you start your idea..." Nerva brings the cider bottle and fills two glasses. He then slides one to Eddie " Ok, you can now continue. I am all ears."
