NEMP Tracking speed is 0.4 that means Battleships cant dodge that and even it can hit Battlecruiser and Cruisers

You can alert allies yes but all you can do is use Flak or CMs but if it hits CM you may die because of 5K Blast radius
CDing the NEMP will cause it to explode again and damage everyone within 5K radius

Honestly there's many ways to notice an NEMP when its fired. First off is the voice ingame, the NPC voice that always says "Incoming Torpedo" when you got one lined up and flying at you. The second is the beeping that starts off slow but then gets faster as the torpedo closes in. Third is the fact that CD's, torpedos..whatever explodes can simply take it out. Fourth is the fact that its still a missile-type weapon, which means Countermeasures can deflect it if your fast enough to notice.

So unless your telling me you have ingame sound muted where you can't hear the AI yell "Incoming torpedo" or where you can't hear the loud beeping when a missile is closing in, or the fact you can't avoid a missile that can be deflected with CM's either...In all my time, this is the first time I've seen an NEMP rocket put to good use, and ironically its also the first time I've seen anyone care to make a post to make it nerfed. If you can't avoid it, or hear the AI screaming at you that you've been targeted by it, then perhaps turn your sound up and us CM's? It sounds easier then you think

NEMPs being epic and overpowered would be nice but you shouldn't be able to throw them around at will. Increase the requirement to get one and maybe include RPing with it if need be so there's some kind of supervision about who gets how many.

But if you're just going to stack 20 NEMPs in your storage, better just remove it rather than nerfing it and making it something uninteresting.

Meanwhile, any battleship and battlecruiser can just get a JD and jump back. It's like blaming people with CAU8 being superior to people with CAU6.

Sometimes there are inevitable turns that life takes in Sirius though. Tactics had to adjust when cloaks came, when JD's came, etc. In our world, we've had to deal with the existence of weapons of mass destruction for generations. How did they deal? Well, eventually when all sides had them, we wound up in world where they aren't actually used.

In the discoverse, perhaps as more have them, people will start to think of them as deterrents more. People may eventually get in the habit of holding off on using them for fear of the enemy unloading theirs as well. Or maybe it will wind up best to save them to try to turn the tide of a battle at a pivotal time.

From here on in I think they should be open to be built and used by the community equally, and let the inrp consequences play out. Disco literally now is like a world where a new WMD has been introduced. Wars will evolve around their use, and policy will form. The houses will have to craft inrp laws around them and their use by navies/militaries and even decide whether to use them or not. But, like nukes, if you decide not to have them, and someone else does, you take a risk. I see every house winding up having these. But I think the current wars (Gallia vs LibBret, Kusari civil war, GMG vs Rheinland, Core vs Order vs Zoners etc) are a good chance to let it all play out and see where it goes. Eventually as most factions wind up with them, it will result in a 'don't use them on us or we'll use them on you' situation. Eventually, after many initial battles, disasters and victories, factions will decide inrp to leave them out (lest it begin a new round of NEMP exchanges). That then leaves the indie or lone wolf 'terrorist' use of them, which is where the use of new Countermeasures could and should come in.

TL;DR - Disco should implement the MAD/Nuclear Deterrance mentality.

NEMPs are great fun, very rarely used and very expensive to fire. They're fine.

No. They only work well in respawn events. And even then it's kinda bull. Takes the fun out of the game. "Whoa just insta- killed 5 of their caps. This gon-b ez"
