Ah, well, I figured that since I managed to get my Order Guard rep to max on my Order gunboat I might as well go ahead and snag a guard tag. Thing is, I've got to drop a LOT of other reps to do that. Like, both the Outcasts and Corsairs, the Xenos, the Kusari State Police, etc.... I killed waaay too many bounty hunters....

Anyways, if you see an Order lunchbox by the name of Adamant floatin' around your space, please don't freak out too much. It's going to take a while to fix his overly polarized rep sheet...

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

Exactly. This is why I need to drop my rep with both: they're both at max green, meaning that if I want to make sure I get the tag I want (Order Guard), then I have to lower both.

The point remains. If I had a nickel for everytime I saw a rusty toolbox floating by, I'd be a rich, rich man. There are much better looking, betting equipped, and far less spammed GBs in Disco, but anyways... Lets not argue.

I think if you frag a handful of Corsair and Outcasts, that will lower the reps on their allies as well, and make it much easier to lower a lot of reps quickly.
In any case, I sympathize. It took me 3 additional hours of flying around Sirius losing 3 separate tags before I finally got the Order Guard one. That one seems to be particularly hard to acquire if any other reps are maxed out.

There arent really any other gunboats available to order characters. Our -only- close allies that construct gunboats are corsairs right now.

Cant use house gunboats, zoners dont have gunboats (yet), the order doesnt have gunboats (yet), we cant use any of the outcast/hacker/rogue/dragon designs because we're hostile to them.

It's more a matter of being forced into those ships than wanting to use them.
