So, the Kusari Civil War is over. The IKN (Imperial Kusari Navy) has been folded back into the KNF, and Emperor Nara Tetsuya is back on the throne in a constitutional monarchy.

But what now? Coming from the perspective of someone who ran / tried to run / is going to adapt an SRP of a defector IKN battlecruiser captain, it can't just be that easy.

How is the navy going to handle elements of its officers and sailors (cosmonauts?) that are still hostile to Gallia? I know that Captain Honda is going to be as vocal as her station permits that the GRN is still a threat that needs taking care of.

And how does Gallia feel about openly hostile fleet elements being absorbed back into the KNF, presumably without any censure or consequences for attacking Gallic troops? Lots of lore has pointed to Kusari building up her forces in the last two decades, and after the upheavals following the war with Bretonia and then the war with Gallia, and the reform puppet-corporate-Gallic sympathizer government and the civil war, there must be some kind of outlet for that tension.

I know that the Hie will certainly be pushing a nationalist, pro-monarchist, pro-reform, anti-Gallia stance, perhaps even to the point of trying to start a political/military faction in the government, or jumping for a special ID as an anti-Gallic raider.

So, I know this is pretty stream-of-consciousness and dispersed. Ultimately, my main question for you all to consider is what's going to happen with Kusari? What is Gallia going to do? We know that the GRN has its Normandie(?) reserves and a general strategic reserve complement, so they may feel they have to take action. Kusari needs some kind of direction.

The way I see it, these are all things that can be developed over time via RP. They don't need to be determined immediately this moment!

You’re right, and I should clarify that I don’t mean this as a unilateral “let’s do everything now and change states of war for ten factions,” and I’ve seen the KuGov RP going on right now and I think it’s probably the best in Disco right now. But I also think Kusari has more roles, events, considerations that need community-wide attention.

In the Gallic history discussion thread I saw a lot of reference to GRN reserves, and a GRN reserve by some sealed jump gates to a group of autonomous systems referred to as Normandie. My point here is that they have the requisite material to open up another front if they felt sufficiently threatened.

If by "a lot" you mean a single one, yes, I saw that one too (a vague speculation, to be honest), so let's get this straight: Normandie is history, connections to that system/region are history, gates were sealed and are now either disassembled or left behind in a system which got blown up in a supernova. Nothing will come from there, ever. Don't calculate with that.
