Cruiser Shield

Back when I bought my 1st cruiser, I saved up enough cash and bought a BS and then sold and bought a cruiser and put the BS shield on it. I want to get my cruiser shield but cannot find one to buy. My Huegenot cruiser (CruierDoc) is now very RED to the mollies. Is there a way I can buy a cruiser shield and sell my BS shield? Can an administrator swap it out for me?
As an explorer, I never felt this was an exploit but, now that I want to role-play, I want to play fare and not have an unfair advantage.

I used to have a cruiser shield in stock on my holder char, but my holder char went into a planet and 700mill of stuff died with it :(....

The only ways of getting your shield back are:
1- Buy a cruiser to get the shield generator.
2- Ask to an Admin to swap it back.

While developing Polaris, I noticed that there were quite a few freighter shield classes that aren't being used. Maybe Discovery can give cruisers, gunboats and battleships their own shield classes.

I have tried selling my Huegenot and buying it back with the cruiser shield. The game throws me off saying I am cheating. I cannot get my cruiser shield back!!!!

You must buy a different ship first. You can't try rebuying the ship you already have or it will kick you. So if I try to buy a Kusari Destroyer while I am in a Kusari Destroyer than it will kick me. Best way is to buy a low priced fighter or something near the base of the Huegenot.

That worked! I sold the cruiser and bought a wolfhound, then sold it and bought the cruiser back. I didn't get any "cheater" complaints by the computer (and no nasty messages from players that I was "a filthy cheating scum" .....yes, I got those when trying to get a "legal" ship back.
