Solution for POBs in mining areas: use the "Entered Freeport NFZ" messaging system

I think a better and easier-to-implement alternative would be to just make attack declaration threads and forum RP unnecessary for bases within 15 or 20 k of mining fields.

That would be the best

adding such a message same like with the freeport also would be fair enough warning


or disable deploying player base within 10-15k from mining zones "if its possible to add such a filter in the FLhook "

If you read the rules you'll find that it's presently not against the rules. It's only against a Bretonian Law that's hidden in a huge bloated post somewhere.

I just restarted playing a couple of weeks ago, and I was thinking about doing a base there, went there with a light fighter talked to some BMM miners about that (really nice folk by the way), searched some PoB rules in the forums (real deep search)... and it's not mine ahah just to clear that if the BMM miners think that PoB it's mine, it's clear that they don't need any more PoB mining depots around there

5.4 - Base Operational Regulations
The following regulations are expected to be consistently and permanently observed by all station owners, in regards to their installations. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in the structure'€™s siege and destruction. Regulations are as follows:
Bases must be no closer than 10K from any existing base or jumpgate, unless special permission is granted by the War Cabinet.
No Hostile entities (see: 1.5 - Definition of Entities) may be permitted to land on the station. Authorities may request evidence of docking permission logs at any time to confirm this. Unfriendly Entities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
No station may leave their docking rights unrestricted - "defencemode 2"€ - due to potential abuse by unlawful parties.
All stations must have docking permission at all times for Bretonian law enforcement agencies: this includes the BAF|, BIS| and BPA).
All bases must be fitted with sufficient evacuation equipment to prevent the loss of life of residents and crew, should the base become compromised via circumstances artificial or natural.
Bases are to be no nearer than 10k from any Mining Field.

Maybe I need to condense this down, by quite a bit, for it to be more easily seen?

As for this, the relevant Base is the latest of a series of Bases that have appeared in the Mining Field. The BPA started to do the relevant RP and giving 72 hours to respond and then giving another 72 hours to respond (with no reply) to then going to the point of eventually, after about 2 weeks from the first Post, destroying the Base.
Then almost immediately, another sprung up in the same Place. RP was done, no response. Destroy Base. And another appears. This is about the 8th Base that has appeared in the last 3-6 months.

When I spoke to the person, via pm, who was putting down the Bases, the response I got was:

PS: Sorry if that Waldorfsalad character should be you, but I was told it was a great firework out there with massive server activity to blast away one of these stations. Could be made an event even....

It isn't against the Rules, as he rightly pointed out.

Maybe we could go down the route of a Violation Report for possible Trolling (which we haven't done), but instead we now do the minimum RP, give the minimum 8 hours notice and destroy the Base. This can be achieved by 1 Fighter/Bomber as the person doesn't bother with crew or anything and it doesn't even have a Shield.

Then we wait for the next Base to appear and repeat the cycle.

The post is better structured and less bloated than most things on the forum, sorry. It would have been better to say that people who read server rules without looking through house laws before construction wouldn't have known it was illegal IRP.
