Hello!

Recently got a Roc, have no idea how to fly that thing. Can virgin bombers even compete with chad fighters? What are the best bombers and how to fly them? What guns do you put on these things?

A Roc is a good bomber to start. There are various loadouts for them. Ranging from suicidal Dual Nova Torpedoes + HellFire Rocket Pods to Antimatter Cannon aka SNAC + ASURAS Code weapon combo and scatterguns for snubfights. Experiment with loadouts until you find whats good for you.

SNAC + ASURAS for good balance, at least, in our opinion.
Scatterguns to handle snubbery.
Roc is certainly a good bomber.
Barghest is also nice, but we're biased there.

EMP's, Snac, CD and nuclear mine, a good snipping setup nowadays. Charge from the smallest to the biggest ship.

I do use the same loadout as Rax proposed. Just one little moment, I do prefer to use Screamer mine, when flying generic stuff and Nomad mine when Nomads/Wilds.

Bombers that are well-rounded to handle fighters and capitals alike tend to sport a SNAC in at least one of their slots. If you're looking to bounty hunt, a CD is pretty much mandatory, or if you want to prevent a large capital ship from cruising up to and breathing down an ally's neck. EMPs tend to be mixed with SNACs, or you could go Scatterguns to better counter enemy fighters.

Scorcher bombs are touch-and-go. They don't aim dead-center where you want; they have a sort of "recoil" spread to them. But, 25,000 hull damage on a 4.00 refire is enough to make someone dodgy, and a single hit will chunk away 80% of a VHF's hull. If you manage 2 consecutive hull hits, they're probably going to die outright, unless they have more than 12,000 base armor (Which is only about 1/4 of the game's VHFs). Meanwhile, any capital ship you manage to unload upon with Scorchers will die FAST. Just be careful, since Scorchers are close range bombs, versus a SNAC being more of a back line weapon.

The best way to experiment is through practice in Connecticut! Plenty of folks are usually willing to fight there, and you can grab a buddy in a bomber for multi-person bomber engagements against capitals.
