Then, after doing some routine housecleaning missions with an ensign, we ran into the LNS-Columbia, which, with the help of the RNS-Lyon was also reduced to rubble. This is Commandant Fontaine reporting from the Felin Majestique. Repair efforts to Montmorency are proceeding as planned, despite continued attempts of rebels and savages to undermine our forces.

Some Rheinlander, I'm presuming, thought it would be such a wonderful idea to attempt to hold up moi and attempt to extract payment of francs. As you can see, however, his plan backfired horrendously as he underestimated the power of the 5G Units' combat capabilities, and overestimated his own. With the assistance of EFL transport Batillus this threat was crushed utterly. Also in the area was a Sirian Gas Miners Guild transport, which I believe was hauling ore material on Gallia's behalf. The gas miner sent me five million credits as thanks for dealing with the trash, which I have already sent forth to the exchange for francs and will reinvest into the Roi's resource base.

With their ongoing reshuffle EFL has gotten rid of the troublemakers in their own ranks. We had a bit of an interesting conversation involving the Omicrons and some hyper-advanced drone the capitaine of the Batillus once ran into, but I digress. I expect EFL will fully uphold their present standing obligation to the Roi, given the vigor I've seen out of the Batillus' capitaine in dealing with the aforementioned nuisance pirate.


I'm going to need more heads for this mop I'm wielding. The savage blood just keeps ruining every mop head I use.

As the reports of several small area hadquarters let us to judge, the enemy tries to engage our supply ships. We sent a small battlegroup to reinforce the local units. As expected the enemy ships are being driven away from our superior armada. Still, it is yet incomprehensible how the Crayter peasantry managed to pass through our blockades. During investigations a council battleship has been detected in Tunisie, as the council forces tried to escape behind its turrets. They call it la de Grasse. Recordings will be attached at a later time as we do not need to hurry to crush them. The last two days the Sirian combined peasantry, mainly Crayter battleships, tried to destroy our ships, warships and supply ships alike, at close quarters by waiting for overeager captaines and pilots to undock from Fort Albi in a 1k orbit. We crushed their weak efforts with our superior tactics and command capability, using our so-called 'Launch-everything-at-once' strategy. The naughty hostile forces were destroyed without survivers on their side. Only one of the Bretonian battleships captaine abandoned his honneur and managed to flee. I will personally take the resposibility for this failure. It is yet unknown when the combined peasantry will give up launching attacks into Tunisie, as they usually prove themselves incapable of realizing the futility and relapse done to their own kind. Déclaration de soldat: Jean Yves Patrice de Justéton Rang: Contre-Amiral Topic: Operation 'Porte Tournante' Description de la/des situation/-s Situation un: Over night la Marine Gauloise executed the sectret operation 'Porte Tournante' in order to remove intruders from our homespace, to secure information on the whereabouts of their basements and to launch a preventive strike on the latter. The fleet of unknown, heavily armed ships was hiding in Auvergne, on the sunside of Planet Brioude. Upon closing the ships already opened fire, but without success. Our forces destroyed the hostile fleet. In the second part of the operation we used the slavaged informations from the remains of their ships to set a location for the basement of the hostile fleet. The information led us to the remote system called Landes. Upon closing to the waypoint we encountered a smaller group of the same kind. A group of Sirians, of Crayter origin, showed up at the same time and decided to join our punitive expedition. We demolished the hostile vessels together and afterwards these Crayters had the courage to stay in our weaponrange. Due to their assertion they would not belong to the Crayters and their courage we decided not to open fire at them. They claimed to be a faction called Natio Octavarium. The third part mainly covered the securing of valuable informations and the return of those to the Agincourt system. A small group of the Crayter mainfleet. a Council cruiser and a Coalition cruiser attacked our fleet during our return. We destroyed them accordingly. I shall express my opinion towards le Natio Octavarium. After our combined attack on the unknown enemy, we recieved valuable informations and materials from them. They seem to be willing to enter relationships. We should keep a closer eye on their group and take opportunities to negotiate with them. But still, be aware. Crayters can not simply be trusted. The operation ended in complete success! Receiving a emergency call from RNS-Aix I derpated from spacedock to aid our battleship. RNS-Aix was under attack by a Bretonian Armed Forces bomber vessel, this one wasn't much of a challenge and the vessel was destroyed by my hand. A short period after my first encounter his reinforcements arrived, just another bomber, it seems the Bretonians haven't much left to send out. During my dogfight with the Bretonian a Outcast vessel arrived interfiering my duel. The Outcast was brave enough to attack me, the Bretonian unfortunately was able to escape. The Outcast wasn't a threat at all and I destroyed his ship. More Vicotries for la roi will come! For the Crown! Topic: Nouvelle-Londres Commerce Stations, Outskirts of Nouvelle-Londres Planetary Defenses. Description de la/des situation/-s Situation un: While supporting Captaine Fontaine on commerce raiding into the Bretonnie Crown's territories we made note of the weakly defended stations on the outskirts of Nouvelle-Londres. These stations have no weapon platforms to speak of, a foolish decision given the current state of Bretonnie. A small fleet should be capable of removing these stations, and I doubt the Bretonniens will put up too much of a fight in their protection as they're most likely non-vital. This was quite the amusing day, as Leclerc will no doubt corroborate. Yesterday was also quite intense -- robbing Bretonian miners in Cambridge right under the nose of their armed forces -- but you've already heard of that!

5G Units deployed from Leeds into Bretonia's soft underbelly as usual. We encountered one of those Junker figures, flying a salvaged Maltese heavy transporter, laden with deuterium in Dublin. He apparently purchased the heavy water from neutral Zoner population in Omega systems, which his course seemed to suggest. We offered him the benefit of the doubt and, instead of destroying him for his illegal ship, or allowing the cargo to potentially reach enemies, shipped it to the Guillestre to fuel the Roi's fusion reactors. He was compensated for time and service. Onwards from there, we continued to harass the Bretonian resource lines. Another count's ransom of gold was taken from a Liberty supertransport and its attending BMM miner, who was coerced into filling out two GATs worth of ore. On the way back into Gallia, we conducted military inspections of traffic encountered along the way. Of note was a vessel (Rheinland-designed fighter) registered to an individual known as "Megaera" who clearly had delusions of some sort of personal sovereignty. The various (and I do say, numerous -- I will let the lower ranking pilots fill in the details for their own merit) crimes against Gallic law amounted to a summary 20 million credit-to-franc fine. The pilot was shot down by Leclerc attempting to flee towards Languedoc and humorously attempting to fine us the same amount we fined them. If there was anything left of the ship or an eject pod that we didn't pick up, I presume the reservistes can be bothered to ship it to Fleury. Last incident of note before we reached the Saint-Denis Refineries was a GMS liner equipped with a high-end cloaking module. We had a schedule to keep so a reprimand was issued, though I advise the etat-major to contact GMS and look into this. The gold netted quite a personal profit for myself and a bonus for Leclerc.

Déclaration de soldat: Pierre Vincent Dupetit-Thouars, Vicomte de Plateau des Coucous Rang: Contre-Amiral Topic: Encounter with an alien "battleship" near Beauvais Production Facility Description de la/des situation/-s Situation un: Patrols in Ile-de-France started receiving strange signals earlier today, but they could not find the source, so a state of readiness was called. I happened to be aboard the Landerneau in Dauphine, and I moved the ship to Ile-de-France, expecting an attack by the Council. Patrolling the lanes, we found no Council ships, but when we reached Beauvais, I spotted a strange and very large object looming about 10K above the station. It was light blue and it emitted pink and light blue light. I had seen one of those before, when I was in Les Bohemes -- it had, somehow, teleported my ship, the Tonnant, from New London to some uncharted system -- but it was much smaller. And, for some reason, my report about the whole event was removed, I do not know by who. However, I still have a few camera shots left in the Tonnant's database, which I will try to access vi the neural net from here. I will post those shots below if I manage. The object resembled a large battleship. I attempted to establish communication with them, but my first attempts were unsuccessful. My bridge filled with static electricity and everyone's hair rose, for no apparent reason. I started hearing "voices", and at first I thought it was just wine, but later, after I had discussed with my bridge staff, I found out that they heard the same voices as well. At that time Noelle Marveilles arrived, in a Lynx. I ordered him to scan the ship, to which he complied, but reluctantly. I expect him to make a report about the scan results. The speakers on the bridge then started humming. Not long after, they were already producing a voice that sounded very electronic, and had little in common with human voice. Nevertheless, it was comprehensible. I will post below what we managed to record. In short, the "entity" never introduced themselves, but they mentioned they approved our war with Bretonia and Liberty, and that they would not mind if we destroyed Sirius. I told them that Gallia was the most powerful nation in existence, to which they answered that they were more powerful and that it was them who were to use us, and not vice-versa, as it should be. Then they headed away. I was offended by their "words", but I did not allow my emotions to influence my behaviour in such a crucial situation. I ordered them to be escorted to Champagne via the jumpholes, as I did not want to panic the civilians by letting them use the lanes. There they would capture a few Council pilots/captains (they already had two Kusari Naval Forces pilots in their cargo, as scanned by Marveilles, so they could certainly capture them). After that they were to return and transfer those to us, as a sign of loyalty. They refused, saying they were not here to fight the Council, but Bretonia and Liberty. Thus, I offered them the ultimatum: they were to be escorted to California, where they would do the same with some Liberty pilots/captains. They refused again, and started closing down on the Landerneau. I warned them to stay away, but they continued. We fired a salvo of four pulses at them as a warning shot, to which they replied with a salvo of three "somethings", which nearly dropped our whole shield. The Landerneau then entered combat. We fired a Hurricane and lowered their shield with pulses. The Hurricane, however, seemed to have veered off -- it was either that they had some countermeasure weapon, or that our warhead was flawed. After that we fired a Warwolf, which hit, and proceeded with our three Cerberuses. At first they were winning, but apparently our Cerberuses were more efficient than whatever they had, or their ship had a poor energy supply, because at the end we managed to prevail. Our hull was starting to buckle seriously when their was near the breach point, too, but they had already used whatever they had instead of shield batteries, and we used our own now, charging our full shield. That seemed to have discouraged them, for they turned away and opened fire at Merveilles with a significant number of fast and fast firing weapons. They failed to shoot him down and their quitting gave us time to recharge our energy for a third Warwolf, which breached their hull. Their ship exploded in a pink blast, which contained a white flash that blinded us all for a short moment. They did not appear to have left anything tangible behind them, not even scrap -- perhaps the object was made of pure energy? I am sure that it had exploded, I saw it with my own eyes, we all did. Merveilles and Laura Malet, a reservist fighter that had arrived in the meantime, docked with Beauvais, but we headed to Melun Research Institution for obvious reasons. There, I found that none of our superficial cameras had recorded anything, although they were in a perfect working condition. Luckily, my navigator, who is also an astronomer and likes taking photographs of stellar objects, had a camera with him, and took the liberty of taking a photograph from the bridge just before the object had exploded. I've no time for a video transmission today so I'm dictating this to my aide. Try to pay attention.

As you know, the enemy has inflicted us a bitter defeat in Magellan a few weeks ago. While I've not yet entirely stopped being UTTERLY FURIOUS at these developments, I've reasoned that a more cautious approach would be in our best interests. While it is too early to make it public, know that our services have been reaching out to several important players in the service of a great operation to come. You will be notified in due time.

In the meantime, I must admit I was pleased by your level of commitment over the past month. Our presence was felt deeply and decisively, but that is no reason to rest on your laurels. Our orders to move out and advance could, at this point, come at any time. I want complete readiness, practice and constant pressure to continue for the foreseeable future. Let our enemies remember us every time they wake up, every time they stop for lunch, every time they go to sleep. Let them go mad with anxiety, obsessed with the thought of their impending doom. The Opération Baliste that I've been teasing you with sadly had to be postponed in the aftermath of the Council's treacherous attack on the battleship Montmorency. The strike was unexpected and could have gone far worse than it did. It has underlined crucial weaknesses in our defensive practices and too much focus on the faraway frontlines, as well as a renewed vigour on the Council's part. None of this bodes well, and we've limited the damage thanks to your prompt response and enduring efforts in protecting the repair crews from our brave corporations. It's a good thing to know that, even caught unprepared, the Marine is still capable to react quickly anywhere.

Still, L'Herminier insists that I remind you of the creation, this month, of the Gendarmerie Nationale, precisely because of the lesson taught by the Montmorency incident. It still needs volunteers willing to work within our borders. It's a less risky, lower-intensity prospect than the frontlines, but it's still an important task. And from what I've heard in the Centre de planification, we may soon face increased terrorist activity within Gallia. The more Gendarmes we have by then, the more ready we'll be to crush them in one swift stroke. Additionally, the Gallant Gallic Gunboat Gobbler Group... Is also still looking for fresh meat, willing to take ridiculous risks in the hopes of securing Bretonian booty and other daring-do nonsense. Get in that if you want, I don't care, I'm not your motheur.

Finally, before I get to the part you're all fretting about, I need to address Thouars... That is, contre-amiral Pierre Vincent Dupetit-Thouars, vicomte du Plateau des Coucous' report. I want you all to draw inspiration on what transpired that day, and how it was handled by our forces. If you see something in space that you don't understand, remind it through whatever means that you are superior to it and that it WILL behave. If that works, enlist it to serve the Roi's cause, as we can never have too many allies on our far-reaching quest. If it doesn't work, shoot it. If it doesn't behave, shoot it. If, after being shot, it pleads for your mercy, grant it in exchange for service to the Roi. If it doesn't understand you, it's probably a libertonian peasant militia, in which case you should already have shot it.
Our enemies come in many shapes and forms. The Alliance traitors are the obvious target, but we understand that true evil lurks in one swampy and presumably uncivilised corner of space. We do not understand it completely but we figured out easily enough that they disagree with Gallia's plans for the Sirius sector. As such, they will not be entertained. Should you encounter more of those during your patrols and assignments, proceed as Thouars and Noëlle Merveilles have. When in doubt, act superior and proceed from there.
Both or them have demonstrated good military qualities and have illustrated themselves in their courageous display of core gallic values in the face of an unknown and potentially deadly threat. They deserve to be cited as examples.

Promotions and rewards

The following men and women of the Marine Royale Gauloise have demonstrated exemplary conduct, tireless commitment and skill in the art of war. They are to be commended and honoured.

- Capitaine de frégate Alaric Jean-Paul Favager d'Astier has been elevated to the rank of capitaine de vaisseau, finally moving past his initial rank. There is hardly a soul in the Marine who hasn't crossed paths with the commandant Favager running off to somewhere in a hurry, shouldering imposing burdens all by himself, diligently with never a complaint. He has come a long way through sheer strength of character and willpower and has set an example to follow for future generations of cadets from less than wealthy environments. Keep up your efforts and the stars await you, commandant.

- Aspirant Eloi Leclerc has been elevated to the rank of Lieutenant de vaisseau. This is irregular, but so have been your first steps with us. You've given much to the Marine straight from your arrival. You've not been thrifty in terms of extra hours, have shown remarkable dedication and have proven yourself to be a valued and appreciated wingman to our pilots. As such, it was decided that you deserved to become a Capitaine a little earlier than procedure advocates. Congratulations : you've set high standards for yourself and this makes you an example to follow.

- Aspirants Julien Coeurnoir and Jesse d'Arc have both been elevated to the rank of Enseigne de vaisseau. Your services have been noted and deemed satisfactory, enough to welcome you among the Enseignes. Keep at it !


- Maître principal Luc Lemarsh has been elevated to the rank of Enseigne de vaisseau. You have proven yourself to be constant and reliable, in addition to being an intimidating presence on the battlefield. We have decided that your time among the Officiers mariniers was at an end and that you were ready for the Officiers. Given your long-standing services, it seemed obvious that you would skip the cadet rank of Aspirant and go straight to the fully-fledged Enseigne. Félicitations, lieutenant.

- Maître Polo Bett has not wavered in his good services for the marine and has illustrated himself on several occasions, at great risk to himself. His courage and professionalism have earned him the rank of Maître principal, which should prepare him for an officer position in the near future. Your actions as part of the 5G unit have been of particular note.

The Etat-major also wishes a warm welcome to those who joined us rcently, namely MT Aimée Barreau, MP Jean Soult, EV Guy Josselyn, EV Charlyn Joseelyn, ASP Sabine de Bordeleaux and QM Broussard. We hope to see much from you.
