Do a trial like the keeper one.

1 - Find One of the 6 Osirises in Sirius. 4 In house space and 2 near the nomad systems.

2 - Prove the Order you are a person having the virtues they need - a good pilot (/fighter), capable of moving undetected and eavesdrop (spy localchat dialogues while following the trainers and not being detected by the radar) and return with valuable information. (All of these could be done via simulations with existing order players)

since the order are to be spies, i suggest to make them an even better scanner that could be found only AND ONLY on order ships to track their subject.

A lengthy post.....

Each point is worth commenting on its own, however, the first part that sticks out in my mind is in the allegiances part:

Specifically in regards to the Hessians and Dragons - Both of these are allies of the Outcasts, which means you will potentially be in situations that would pit you against the Corsairs, your former allies. Now given the discovery RP angle where the Outcasts, major suppliers and allies to the factions you mentioned tend to venerate the Nomads - the very species you are sworn to fight against....

You see where im going with this?

Why would the Order put themselves into that camp in such an obvious way? Who are the Hessians in particular going to side with.... The Order (for what benifit?) or the Outcasts (with obvious benefits in their war with the Corsairs).

Bundschu, Red HEssians and Blood Dragons are fighting their house governments.

Their house governments are fighting WIlde and Nomads.

Why should Order ally with the pirates/unlawfuls instead of Kusari and Rheinland directly?

Kusari might get problems with Liberty if they do. But Rheinland?

The Freelancers (Trent), LSF (Juni), the LN (Walker), BLood Dragons, Rogues, Bundschu were more tools of the Order than allies.

Why should Order have allies at all, if they post a battleship base near the Wilde systems.

About the capital ships I agree, but its a problem for Outcasts and Navy too. Should be a Sirius-wide solution. If not the same people will just get Zoner, Navy, or Outcast capital ships.

BHG -- Order war is one of the most contrived storylines ever invented anywhere.

Not only is it ridiculous that Bounty Hunters (who are lone wolves out for rewards) would assemble fleets but that they would UNITE under a common goal to wage war on a technologically superior armada JUST because they want some alien technology.

Why Bounty Hunters of all people? Bounty Hunting is a profession. It's not a country. Why not Rheinland wanting to have alien tech to a point that they declare war on the Order. Why not Liberty?

At this point, the Zoners are fighting the Nomads more than the Order is, as they are often busy dogfighting Bounty Hunters.

Laowai.... how long has it been since you followed anything of what's been happening in the mod? Neither Dragons nor Hessians are Outcast allies, and haven't been for a long time... In fact, both of them are quite opposed to both Outcasts and Corsairs at the moment. So I would say this argument has no place really... no matter who the Order sides with, Dragons and Hessians will fight Corsairs. So it's a non issue.

On the topic of the changes: I have an Order indie, but despite that I agree with these changes and would like to offer an alternative to the rather silly idea of "Order capship license": use faction right no. 5. The Order| can declare any ship hostile to the Order as long as it is within RP for them to do so. Any idiot captain can be declared as nomad infested, and to be hunted down. Then you pass a note to the admins, and he gets a red rep to the Order to reflect that, and possibly a trip to Bastille upon the loss of his ship.

Screw the Pope, Tenacity wins the game. We are all free. Go get some air.

Then get your arse back in here and implement these changes.

_______________________________________________________________

Okay, Tenacity, and Community, I'll offer my feedback.

Section 1: Order-BHG War

That war never made sense to me. I'd love to see it end, since I /ragequit my Order indies whenever I got loldessie'd in Minor/Delta

Section 2: Covert vs Overt

The CIA and FBI are not marines or Navy. I would like to see it back to being a stealthy orginization, where I may see Nepths crawling through House space, as spies. I might like to see a SRP-given "Stealth Ship" That is only detectable on scanners from 5k and acts as a spy.

Section 3: Alliances

I agree totally that the Corsairs have out-lived their usefulness and should revert back to being neutral, if not unfriendly. Ending the conflict between The Order and Liberty would be welcome, too. Allying with Dragons, Bundschuh, and maybe even affiliating with Hackers would be the best way to have ears in the Houses, and forces to deal with Nomads and Wilde.

Section 4: Capship control

Yes. Please. If it means taking away Corsair Osirises, please, do it. As an Outcast, nothing annoys me more to see our worst enemies using tech belonging to a neutral group. Furthermore, it doesn't make sense that the Order would allow their super-high tech battleship to be used by warring criminals. It's like giving mobsters AT-ATs.

This entire "Outcasts worship Nomads" thing is increasingly irritating me.
They were called "spirits" because the Outcasts are superstitious.

Outcasts are mostly Catholic.
They wouldn't worship Nomads just because they're blue and sparkly.
"Spirits" easily translates to "demons" as well, which is probably a more accurate estimation of what the Outcasts would really think of them as.

I don't really care whether or not there is a link between Nomads and Cardamine or not.
Are we going by what was in the actual game, or what contradictory preliminary material says? If the game contradicts the lore, that should be entirely final. That means the developers didn't like those ideas and threw them out. Trying to reintroduce them doesn't fit well at all. (See: Extended Intro.)

Discovery seems to be ruining vanilla roleplay left and right while we're on the topic of Corsairs, Outcasts, and the Order and various potential allies.

Well, Sprolf, it's more fear and awe that they revere them for. It's a "We suck up to you, you don't wtfpwn us" kind of deal. That, and the Noms need them to culture the Cardi.

I vote Yes. A big Yes from small person but still Yes.
But i have to ask on question...
1. When will be this realized

Asking because...
Well i say it loud, Yes i have a geb.
But i believed i was never called a lolwuter and even when i am not part of order p-faction i still keep my limits.
I am always having a very good RP either with Toving.Kelt and Keepers. As far as i know, i believe in powers of constructive speech rather than guns. So i would prefer keeping it but if you say so, fine.

Anyways perfect idea. Get this to work ASAP. I will pray for you people...

Kuda out.

I will once again point out to you, that without the Corsairs the Order would have a total of 1 Osiris. The Corsairs have been making the Osiris for much much....much longer than the Order, it is just as much a Corsair ship as it is a Order one. If the Order doesn't want to use the same ship as the Corsairs, they can go and develop a new one, they have the technology and supplies and means to do it. The Corsairs are not, I repeat not getting rid of the Osiris.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51997
Quote:Just a note: Osiris is considered okay for the Corsairs to use. It is, in fact, sold on a Corsair base. The Corsairs know how to build it, etc.

The Geb and all other Order ships are not.

Have a nice day.
