Dont understand why you so sticked to this tags, they absolutely not important for RP. Any differences between subfactions could be recognized by simple RP with thems. Even if most of tags have inRP sense they not so matter after all in encounters.

How is this:

Less complicated/clear than this:

Your proposal just adds unnecessary characters to tags, as well as sucking the soul, uniqueness and roleplay out of them. Yes, there are certainly some tags that could be clearer, but the majority of tags are fine. Rule of thumb is that when in doubt of something, you should just ask. Sling the ship a PM if you don't know who they are. Outside of the factions added by the Discovery Mod itself, the only circumstance where I can see newbies struggling really hard to identify tags at the beginning is not playing vanilla, which I didn't, but even then it was really easy for me to familiarize myself with faction tags like [LN] and =LSF=.

I think you're seriously overexaggerating the bad impact of factions using the current tags, as in many cases they're actually used to draw activity.

I agree with the youn' blood. It makes sense for tags to have a standard form throughout Sirius.

Shinny idea, Manu. Keep at it.

Question for you, Manu. Under this system, would players be sanctioned for having tags claiming to be of another faction?

I'd totally disguise my pirate as a trader if I could get away with it.

I'm not proposing any system. I'm simply providing feedback to the Discovery developers based on the impression I got as a new player and suggesting to be more aware of tags and move forward into a more simple scheme in order to maintain the purpose of integrating new players into faction interaction IN GAME! while avoiding any sort of sabotage or subtle undermining either intentional or UNINTENTIONAAL! of the community by creating a wall between these groups with the usual: "I don't want to deal with newbies", "I don't want newbies to decipher my faction so they don't bother asking", "I own this game", "This is my house, my circle, my niche of friends", "don't call us we call you", "you cant sit with us" type of VIP dynamics that is usually formed in games with groups factions or cliches with high server numbers.

I'm not saying that this is happening! Perhaps I'm completely wrong. But this is my impression based on my experience and my opinion and I'm simply letting the devs know.

Like I could easily tell the devs where doing great efforts to try integrating new players to the R/P going to the Forums and joining factions with very easy access, simple welcome, helping buoys, giving players starting cash, big ship, ready to jump into r/p. But I also felt like some of the factions were like "hmm no no no, not happening!" Like not in the same page you know?

And because I know changing faction Names could cause friction, I suggested to create a friendly environment for new players to focusing in slow progress and grinding with a focus into maintaining them in the server as much as possible, giving them time so they can get a basic grip of the hieroglyphics, as well as getting a grip of the Labyrinth (Discovery Forums) as well as expanding to a younger audience and this sparked in my mind when I saw my nephews having fun in disco and comparing its visuals to Disney's Star Wars Rebels animated series. By also suggesting a simplification and simple access of the forums I think this could create ground to attract a younger audience. And I don't think they should wait till the server numbers drop to a dozen to do so.

reading that would be way easier if you didnt make the whole thing italics.
also some factions are very strict about who gets in and who doesnt, but 90% of them are welcoming and support everyone

FTFY

The amount of "invite only" factions is actually really miniscule, and the amount of factions ravenous for players is very large.

If your app shows you to have no concept of "roleplay", the roleplaying faction on a roelplaying server will probably deny your app but invite you to re-apply when you have a firmer grasp of the server, indeed some may contact you directly and explain in detail what needs to improve.

I can only think of Wild, Rat Pack, [Star], and LC- off the top of my head as the invite-only factions that are relevant at all. [Admin] is allegedly invite-only, but all their players are lolwuts.

EDIT: @"Exo the Plier Guy" here. Derp.

I don't have an answer for this because Ageira is currently using it's complete name in the ID, so Ageira is not part of the problem. You picked up a Faction as example that is not contested to the issue at hand.
