Font issues.

So yesterday I realized that all of sudden one of my console fonts had been switched to Agency - specifically the one that renders the console text answer to /commands.

Chat font was untouched, but I was puzzled and hit the help on discord. Nothing came out of it, so I proceeded to reinstall everything - game, mod and fonts, which only made it worse. Now even the chat font has changed, which - for me - is nigh unreadable.

Did I make a wrong turn somewhere? Images for clarification.

Reinstalled once again, from different sources as well, no dice. It's weird because they show fine in some parts, but not on others - as if on purpose.

Kaz's suggestion on discord worked the chat issue. '/set chatfont default default' made it return to normal.

Server messages and /commands still remain weird.

The font you are dealing with there is Vibrocentric. It is the default font for Freelancer (or FLHook, I cannot recall) and it automatically switches if it's installed. I recall this being a problem several years ago on one of the FL servers, as I saw threads about it on the Starport.

Yes, I remembered - thats really the default font, ever since the Freelancer Demo, which used it.

For future reference, I managed to avoid the issue by doing the evil thing and renaming the font face to something else than Vibrocentric. Had to use Typograph for that, but it worked. Thank you for the directions, that was easy but painfully out of the way.

Pleasure. I just went into the fonts folder and deleted it directly when it happened to me.
