Good day, old chaps!
I'm sure you've all noticed the lack of recent reports from us lately. The last month has been a bit rough for us, but we're alive and well, and ready to get back out into the black and make some credits.
Early last month, while we were in the Coronado system, we had a mishap with our FTL communications router that managed to do a number on our internal computer network as well. Without any sort of external comms, and with our systems unable to talk to one another, we were dead in space. Fortunately, a passing Crayter Military patrol spotted us and was able to get us towed back to Sabah Shipyard.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of our troubles. Do you have any idea how hard it is to source an FTL comm router for an AS-1300? There aren't many of these old tubs still in the sky, and some of the less commonly replaced parts are getting a bit scarce. Fortunately, we were able to locate one at a scrap dealer in Liberty, and they shipped it out straight away. We thought that would be the end of it, but it wasn't to be. After an inordinate amount of time, I contacted the scrap dealer again, and after getting the runaround for a bit, I finally talked to someone that confirmed that my part never even shipped! Somehow, some stupid bellend managed to lose my part between the warehouse and the shipping dock. Needless to say, I was slightly miffed. I gave them a bloody good bollocking, then headed down to the Octavarium Mercantile Guild office to file a formal complaint and to rent a shuttle. I sent two of my own people to Liberty to get the part themselves.
We finally got the part a couple days ago, got it installed, and ran a full set of diagnostics on it. The part was perfect, and we're back up and running. We shoved off out of port this morning and have resumed doing what we do best.

Since Canberra is going well, we've invested some time and money in additional materiel. We have produced or procured multiple small craft in and around the western Independent Worlds and will be stationing them there for local defensive operations. All core pilots of the Fourth Octavarium Fleet may at any point sign out one of these ships to assist our allies against threats in the area if you happen to be passing through. Just give your friendly neighbourhood Taskmaster a ring first to make sure the keys are still there.

Subject: Fighter production focus Encryption:Better built than that old Bayonet
Director Jones,
Some of our older fighters are no longer able to keep up in the current combat environment. While part of this is definitely due to human rust, there is an element of mechanical age to it as well. It appears the Gaul's taunt that his technology is superior is in fact correct when he fights that Natio, as the old Hacker-derived first generation Bayonet-class EWAR fighters cannot withstand the Gallic Lynx in a head-on engagement. I have just now learned this the hard way, having limped approximately one third of a Bayonet back to Curacao from what is now a small ship graveyard in the aerospace of Birmingham.
We need to take stock of what we have and begin constructing modern fighters. The Raven would be a solid starting point if it weren't a goddamn brick. I recommend we work off the Falchion platform; we have the Mk I and Mk II blueprints handy and will send them to you, and I will be making a trip down to visit some old friends aboard Leiden to ask about the Mk III. They're loyal to the Raiders so we should see results by this time tomorrow.
I know a retooling like this can get expensive, but clearly, while the brute force of smashing an IMG-derived brick covered in tubes and armour plates works against the common rabble it will not work against organized Gallic forces.
Listen, I've been poking around Canberra, and I need a proper cleanroom and, if possible, the tools for delicate electronic work. I'll be more than happy to go acquire the tools myself if we don't have any, but I could really go for a dust-free, climate-controlled environment.
Are there any available hangars I could commandeer that may be large enough to house, say, a gunship?

Good day, ladies, gentlemen, and various transgendered individuals!
After our last mechanical problem with the Falcon, we decided to start looking into newer ships. As luck would have it, a brand new Serenity-class Transport was available, fresh off the assembly lines in Bretonia. Through the Octavarium Mercantile Guild, we were able to complete the purchase and take delivery of our new ship, which we've christened the Dreaded Skies. We've since put her through her paces, running trade to just about everywhere we're welcome, and have only had a few minor troubles. Nothing beyond the usual shakedown adjustments, though.
For the sake of easier maintenance, though, I think we'll be replacing the stock Bretonian PTE-15 engine with a Crayterian CHN-D6. The performance of the Bretonian engine is as good as ever, but since the war started, all the best engine components have been earmarked for military use. Bretonian civilian engines have been a bit flaky as a result, and replacing them would save my engineers a lot of time on maintenance and repairs. Between that and the upgraded Charon defense turrets we picked up in Liberty, I'd say that we're more than ready for anything.
On a side note, during our nearly month-long downtime, I finally managed to get a couple of my pre-Tau War trade contacts in Kusari to answer my calls. Nobody from Samura wants to speak with me, and under the circumstances, I wasn't really trying too hard anyway. My contacts at Kishiro and some of the smaller companies on New Tokyo, Honshu, and Kyushu got back to me, though. They're more than happy to make some credits so long as the diplomatic situation holds. I've passed along their information to the Octavarium Mercantile Guild so our other trade ships can take advantage as well.

Specialist Illat,
My name is Ellen Rey. I am the Minister of Services and, by extension, the overseer of Canberra Star City. I must say, this is an odd request. While most of the Fleet is based out of Melbourne, a significant number of vessels have been diverted to Canberra for defensive operations, and research and development labs are currently under construction and refitting aboard the mostly-civilian colony. That being taken into account, this is a civilian installation, and we cannot properly support capital-class vessels aboard.
Nevertheless, I have been informed by Minister Kane that this is of importance to the Fleet's ability to do something classified, so while we do not have any gunship-sized berths, we do have several mooring points that you can choose from, and there has been what we presume to have once been a storage bay near the upper mooring ring that you are free to claim and convert for your own purposes.
Regards,
Ellen Rey

[14.07.2018 01:58:22] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm. Evening, Raider.
[14.07.2018 01:58:39] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: *(the captain's distinct Bretonian accent is clear.)*
[14.07.2018 01:59:03] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Sundog, I'm with the Commission. Bad run in Leeds, need to make sure the ship's functional again.
[14.07.2018 01:59:26] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Those Valor phalanxes are... a problem.
[14.07.2018 01:59:38] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Need an escort back to..?
[14.07.2018 02:00:01] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: This was about two weeks ago, functionality is restored... more or less.
[14.07.2018 02:00:08] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We're out in Tau-44 now, though.
[14.07.2018 02:00:18] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: You know, Crayter, then Gallic, then Crayter again.
[14.07.2018 02:00:22] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: 44? Well.. That is something.
[14.07.2018 02:00:29] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Lot of fighting for a system that... doesn't really have much.
[14.07.2018 02:00:49] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: ... that is a fascinating choice of ship.
[14.07.2018 02:00:49] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: More than meets the eye. Already had that back then.
[14.07.2018 02:01:02] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Well, there *is* the uranium planet.
[14.07.2018 02:01:08] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I swear that has to just be a sensor anomaly though.
[14.07.2018 02:01:13] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It isn't.
[14.07.2018 02:01:21] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It can eat your hull under five minutes.
[14.07.2018 02:01:29] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Not doubting the radiation
[14.07.2018 02:01:31] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: If you're standing near its gravity well.
[14.07.2018 02:01:38] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: just the reported uranium content.
[14.07.2018 02:01:53] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: If the data actually matched the IMG reports on it, it would've collapsed on itself
[14.07.2018 02:02:05] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Yet, it stands.
[14.07.2018 02:02:19] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: So either physics is wrong, or the radiation broke their scanners.
[14.07.2018 02:02:31] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Fascinating rock to be honest. More fascinating is that the the 44th Battlegroup trained there.
[14.07.2018 02:02:49] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: That explains a lot of the crayterians back then.
[14.07.2018 02:02:56] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: ... you *can't* be serious.
[14.07.2018 02:03:11] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Oh I am.
[14.07.2018 02:03:18] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: *Lights up a cigar*
[14.07.2018 02:03:33] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Bloody hell.
[14.07.2018 02:03:36] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: So, Captain.. Sundog?
[14.07.2018 02:03:50] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Callsign. Commission thing, you understand.
[14.07.2018 02:04:13] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: *Exhales the smoke* No, not really.
[14.07.2018 02:04:25] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Octavarium Intelligence Commission. Does that explain it better?
[14.07.2018 02:04:45] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We generally try not to be too open about who exactly we are.
[14.07.2018 02:05:02] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Now that is a different thing to be aware of.
[14.07.2018 02:05:33] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Well, Captain Kaze Dagon, at your service.
[14.07.2018 02:05:37] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: How is Mr. Kane?
[14.07.2018 02:05:44] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Surprisingly, still alive.
[14.07.2018 02:06:07] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Our flight from Kansas wore on him, but he's doing better now.
[14.07.2018 02:06:07] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It tends to happen from time to time.
[14.07.2018 02:06:24] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Yes, your path.. isn't really clear.
[14.07.2018 02:06:38] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: That seems to happen a lot with us.
[14.07.2018 02:07:13] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We made some deals iwth Crayter to get re-established, which... some of us have doubts about.
[14.07.2018 02:07:41] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: But, they have experience colonizing the Barrier, so it made sense. Hold on...
[14.07.2018 02:07:52] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Heads up, Gallic corvettes inbound. We should... relocate.
[14.07.2018 02:07:57] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: True that.
[14.07.2018 02:08:02] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I suggest 29.
[14.07.2018 02:08:12] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: That would seem best.
[note: party jumped to Tau-31 at this point]
[14.07.2018 02:08:51] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Your.. organization does happen to have quite the history. Colorful to say the least.
[14.07.2018 02:09:47] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Well, I *can* safely confirm I wasn't with the Raiders.
[14.07.2018 02:10:37] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm. Well, the Raiders did evolved.
[14.07.2018 02:10:39] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I joined in the colonization of Kansas... which, well. Liberty was actively unhelpful, to no one's surprise really
[14.07.2018 02:11:08] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It is Liberty.
[14.07.2018 02:11:23] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: As I understand it, now the Legion controls the system. I imagine that's not the result they had hoped for.
[14.07.2018 02:11:34] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Kansas?
[14.07.2018 02:11:45] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Mhm. Well, the "Commonwealth", but...
[14.07.2018 02:11:54] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Actually I believe Liberty has assets within Kansas.
[14.07.2018 02:12:05] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Nothing permanent.
[14.07.2018 02:12:21] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Nothing ever is, Captain.
[14.07.2018 02:12:29] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: ... alright, that's fair.
[14.07.2018 02:12:35] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Nothing *intended* to be permanent.
[14.07.2018 02:13:17] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We've noticed Gallic incursions have gotten further than just Leeds recently
[14.07.2018 02:13:28] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Yes. New London has been breached.
[14.07.2018 02:13:54] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: We are preparing for the inevitable.
[14.07.2018 02:14:18] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We'll do what we can to help, but we aren't a large fleet.
[14.07.2018 02:14:56] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hitting the gaul supply lines is more than enough help, without risking yourselves in a head on engagement.
[14.07.2018 02:14:59] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: There are a lot of Octavarians that want a crack at the Royalists, especially after they attacked our colonists passing through
[14.07.2018 02:15:00] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Magellan.
[14.07.2018 02:15:09] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm.
[14.07.2018 02:15:26] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: But, tactically, head-on engagements are... not wise, as you said.
[14.07.2018 02:15:36] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: *Nods and puts out the cigar*
[14.07.2018 02:16:09] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Blockade running and interdiction... just like the old days, so I hear.
[14.07.2018 02:16:30] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Not all of what was in the old days.
[14.07.2018 02:16:42] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I still remember Petrucci running a slave convoy.
[14.07.2018 02:17:01] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Yes, that's some business that's been phased out.
[14.07.2018 02:17:09] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: had been as early as Kansas
[14.07.2018 02:17:19] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Prior even, I believe.
[14.07.2018 02:17:57] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: As I said, I wasn't with the Raiders, so I wouldn't really know. That would explain why LIberty eventually let us be, though.
[14.07.2018 02:18:22] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Well a new face and a new name does help.
[14.07.2018 02:18:40] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I suppose Gallia giving them something else to worry about likely had an impact as well.
[14.07.2018 02:19:18] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Not only. *She nods*
[14.07.2018 02:19:24] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Have they been actively assisting within Bretonia?
[14.07.2018 02:19:26] NO-F-Saronsen;: Isn't this a quiet little gathering.
[14.07.2018 02:19:33] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Evening.
[14.07.2018 02:19:37] NO-F-Saronsen;: Good day.
[14.07.2018 02:20:22] NO-F-Saronsen;: Pardon if I'm interrupting, ladies.
[14.07.2018 02:20:24] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I mean, we kept bouncing back and forth between 31 and 29 trying to find each other, so
[14.07.2018 02:20:31] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Not really, Mr...?
[14.07.2018 02:20:45] NO-F-Saronsen;: Saronsen. A pleasure, miss--?
[14.07.2018 02:21:15] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Dagon. Captain Kaze Dagon.
[14.07.2018 02:21:50] NO-F-Saronsen;: Just thought I'd pop by and see what the little blips out here were. Figured nothing dangerous with the lack of SOS.
[14.07.2018 02:22:17] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Well, 31 is being searched proactively by the Royals.
[14.07.2018 02:22:38] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: 29 is much more.. peaceful.
[14.07.2018 02:22:46] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Not as many invaders.
[14.07.2018 02:22:50] NO-F-Saronsen;: Just the locals.
[14.07.2018 02:23:19] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: And that is more than enough.
[14.07.2018 02:23:22] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: They're always a bit jumpy. Too much killing for profit does that.
[14.07.2018 02:23:27] NO-F-Saronsen;: And you are.. Sundog, right?
[14.07.2018 02:23:47] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Yes. Escher doesn't much care for these ships, so he has me handle them.
[14.07.2018 02:24:13] NO-F-Saronsen;: Fair enough. The Natio actually has rather tight electronic security.
[14.07.2018 02:24:17] NO-F-Saronsen;: Not that I'm admitting to poking around.
[14.07.2018 02:24:25] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm.
[14.07.2018 02:24:26] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Truth be told, I'm not the greatest fan either. I cannot for the life of me figure out what Kishiro was doing when they
[14.07.2018 02:24:30] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: designed the weapon pylons here.
[14.07.2018 02:24:52] NO-F-Saronsen;: A grandoise appearance on a budget, I would say.
[14.07.2018 02:24:54] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It was designed for the civilian Kusarian turrets back in the day.
[14.07.2018 02:25:08] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: And to fit with the.. Kusarian theme?
[14.07.2018 02:25:10] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I suppose.
[14.07.2018 02:25:15] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I am no designer.
[14.07.2018 02:25:23] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I suppose. The Tokugawa does also have those inexplicable holes.
[14.07.2018 02:25:27] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I just used to shoot them.
[14.07.2018 02:25:40] NO-F-Saronsen;: I don't think I've ever actually had an encounter with Kusari.
[14.07.2018 02:25:52] NO-F-Saronsen;: My nightmares are still filled with Liberators.
[14.07.2018 02:25:58] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Libbies.
[14.07.2018 02:26:01] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Yes.
[14.07.2018 02:26:07] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Quite the nasty little buggers.
[14.07.2018 02:26:10] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: The navy's been rather quiet lately, which is strange. You'd think the upswing in Dragon activity would prompt a reaction.
[14.07.2018 02:26:29] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Better that they're not poking around the Taus, but it's concerning.
[14.07.2018 02:26:34] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: They are preparing for a war.
[14.07.2018 02:26:39] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Far from here.
[14.07.2018 02:26:43] NO-F-Saronsen;: As if they have the numbers for war anymore.
[14.07.2018 02:26:52] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: A war, far from... hm.
[14.07.2018 02:26:57] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: That certainly narrows things down.
[14.07.2018 02:27:16] NO-F-Saronsen;: The easiest answer is simply on the opposite side of the sector.
[14.07.2018 02:27:21] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: For resources? They will make do, I believe. Greed.. does tend to forego logic.
[14.07.2018 02:27:32] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: If they're fighting Rheinland, it might actually be fair.
[14.07.2018 02:27:47] NO-F-Saronsen;: Corners will be cut. Rheinland doesn't cut corners in their military construction.
[14.07.2018 02:27:51] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Liberty broke Rheinland twice - first financially, then militarily.
[14.07.2018 02:28:04] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Years ago.
[14.07.2018 02:28:07] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: And Rheinland's already proven they don't know how to fight in the Crow.
[14.07.2018 02:28:17] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: It is not a land amenable to change, in my experience.
[14.07.2018 02:28:32] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: The Crow's arms don't reach what I am saying.
[14.07.2018 02:28:57] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Hm. We'll see. Perhaps we need to send a ship out that way to investigate.
[14.07.2018 02:29:07] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Do not send one alone.
[14.07.2018 02:29:10] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: No.
[14.07.2018 02:29:26] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: For far worse things inhabit that space than Rheinlanders and Kusarians.
[14.07.2018 02:29:39] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We... are already experienced with that.
[14.07.2018 02:29:41] NO-F-Saronsen;: I definitely volunteer then.
[14.07.2018 02:30:06] NO-F-Saronsen;: A shame I can't actually locate my old gunship.
[14.07.2018 02:30:08] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm. You would do well to contact the SIS. And ask.
[14.07.2018 02:30:18] NO-F-Saronsen;: I'm certain it's still in Kansas.
[14.07.2018 02:30:19] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I cannot share anymore information.
[14.07.2018 02:30:54] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Could be worse, it could be in New York.
[14.07.2018 02:31:01] NO-F-Saronsen;: I'd say there's no need to be cryptic, but you're still better than the Order.
[14.07.2018 02:31:01] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: In the middle of all that scrap.
[14.07.2018 02:31:23] NO-F-Saronsen;: That seems like where the Lane Hackers found their new gunships, frankly.
[14.07.2018 02:31:26] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: As I said, contact the SIS. I am certain they will be willing to share.
[14.07.2018 02:31:28] NO-F-Saronsen;: Phallic piles of scrap they are.
[14.07.2018 02:31:36] NO-F-Saronsen;: It offends me.
[14.07.2018 02:31:38] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I can't really say.
[14.07.2018 02:31:47] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I haven't met Hackers in some time.
[14.07.2018 02:32:03] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: It's for the best.
[14.07.2018 02:32:05] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Insufferable twats.
[14.07.2018 02:32:25] NO-F-Saronsen;: I'd take offense but I never was part of this current.. generation.
[14.07.2018 02:32:39] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: They do sport themselves as the villans now, don't they?
[14.07.2018 02:32:46] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Oh. You were a Hacker?
[14.07.2018 02:32:53] NO-F-Saronsen;: For quite the long run.
[14.07.2018 02:33:03] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Moriarty's days?
[14.07.2018 02:33:05] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: They talk like what a Los Angeles director and his slack-jawed audience *think* intelligence sounds like.
[14.07.2018 02:33:17] NO-F-Saronsen;: Mmmh, name rings a bell. I'm more familiar with Phate.
[14.07.2018 02:33:24] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Shot him down. Twice.
[14.07.2018 02:33:28] NO-F-Saronsen;: I wasn't part of that proper Lane Hacker inner circle.
[14.07.2018 02:33:37] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Quite the sporting fellow.
[14.07.2018 02:33:47] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Very professional in his work.
[14.07.2018 02:33:53] NO-F-Saronsen;: Me and him had a.. disagreement once. He wanted the lane I was situated at.
[14.07.2018 02:34:14] NO-F-Saronsen;: He argued with torpedos, I had a trio of razors.
[14.07.2018 02:34:41] NO-F-Saronsen;: I suppose he's either retired or dead now.
[14.07.2018 02:34:45] NO-F-Saronsen;: Haven't seen that name in years.
[14.07.2018 02:34:58] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Most likely dead, I would venture.
[14.07.2018 02:35:10] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: That line of work.. doesn't allow retirement, I would venture.
[14.07.2018 02:35:12] NO-F-Saronsen;: But then, I somehow made it out alive after personally offending Admiral Hale.
[14.07.2018 02:35:24] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Ah Hale.
[14.07.2018 02:35:35] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Now that is an intelligent man.
[14.07.2018 02:35:46] NO-F-Saronsen;: [muffled coughing]
[14.07.2018 02:36:01] NO-F-Saronsen;: I suppose compared to the regulars, yes.
[14.07.2018 02:36:15] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Never dealt with him myself. He was before my time in the Barrier.
[14.07.2018 02:36:24] NO-F-Saronsen;: Determined may be a better word.
[14.07.2018 02:36:28] Rules Tip: Pirates can issue only one cargo or monetary demand per encounter. Telling the trader to stop is not a demand, however, if they ignore the request, they can be shot down without issuing further demands.
[14.07.2018 02:36:50] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Bullheadedness seems to be a recurring trait in Liberty.
[14.07.2018 02:37:14] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: There was a story going around on Freeport 4, back before it was destroyed, about a previous LSF director personally chasing a
[14.07.2018 02:37:31] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Lane Hacker through a solar corona because he wanted to stop her that much.
[14.07.2018 02:37:53] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: He wasn't successful, of course, or the story wouldn't have made it back to the Freeport.
[14.07.2018 02:37:54] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Burned to a crisp?
[14.07.2018 02:38:10] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Apparently he broke off pursuit in time to save himself, and the Hacker got away.
[14.07.2018 02:38:32] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Stories change in the telling, though; who knows what actually happened
[14.07.2018 02:38:48] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm. LSF were always the brainless bloodhounds.
[14.07.2018 02:39:01] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: The main branch I say.
[14.07.2018 02:39:03] NO-F-Saronsen;: I do admit I miss my time in Liberty. Always something exciting happening.
[14.07.2018 02:39:22] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I have... concerns about that place.
[14.07.2018 02:39:31] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Were you around during the Merc Wars, Mr. Saronsen?
[14.07.2018 02:39:41] NO-F-Saronsen;: I was.. in the area, I suppose.
[14.07.2018 02:39:47] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: With the Raiders?
[14.07.2018 02:40:14] NO-F-Saronsen;: I don't think I was with the Raiders at that time.
[14.07.2018 02:40:31] NO-F-Saronsen;: I think my joining was just after they had formed a truce with Liberty.
[14.07.2018 02:40:49] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: That sounds... about right.
[14.07.2018 02:41:08] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We didn't exactly keep detailed paperwork at the time, though, which we've been working on.
[14.07.2018 02:41:26] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm. Pitty. Is Warlady Zachary still around? Or died as she lived?
[14.07.2018 02:41:55] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: No one knows. There's a standing Commission alert for anything related to that case.
[14.07.2018 02:42:15] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We're reasonably sure her ship is gone, but by all accounts she wouldn't die that easily.
[14.07.2018 02:42:36] NO-F-Saronsen;: I'm living proof that a ship blowing up on you isn't always immediate death.
[14.07.2018 02:42:47] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I do agree.
[14.07.2018 02:42:50] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Wait.
[14.07.2018 02:42:55] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: The Chaos is missing?
[14.07.2018 02:43:02] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: *Raises an eyebrow*
[14.07.2018 02:43:11] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Remember "Overlord" Spike?
[14.07.2018 02:43:50] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: The name does ring a bell.
[14.07.2018 02:43:50] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Things got messy once that shortsighted imbecile took power. It's used as something of an example in what passes for officer
[14.07.2018 02:43:52] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: training around here.
[14.07.2018 02:44:44] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: From there, tracking some of the assets that *should be* ours became difficult, and the Chaos remains unaccounted for.
[14.07.2018 02:45:01] NO-F-Saronsen;: Conveniently disappeared into the black market I assume.
[14.07.2018 02:45:03] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: We suspect Spike stole it, in all honesty. We also suspect that he's dead.
[14.07.2018 02:45:19] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Pitty. That ship was quite the spectacle.
[14.07.2018 02:45:32] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Our fleet is... not what it once was.
[14.07.2018 02:45:51] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: We aen't like what we once were.
[14.07.2018 02:46:15] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Mm. For example, somehow the Raiders have become vaguely civilized.
[14.07.2018 02:46:19] NO-F-Saronsen;: That.. reminds me to push forwards a message I sent again.
[14.07.2018 02:46:43] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: So, no Petrucci, no Zachary..
[14.07.2018 02:46:58] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I don't truly know if I was the one that killed Fierceshot.
[14.07.2018 02:47:17] NO-F-Saronsen;: Even pirates seek safety and security eventually.
[14.07.2018 02:47:26] NO-F-Saronsen;: So civilized, perhaps not.
[14.07.2018 02:47:29] NO-F-Saronsen;: Sane? Certainly.
[14.07.2018 02:47:31] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I have to ask, I wasn't around to meet him
[14.07.2018 02:47:38] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: did Fierceshot seriously wear a bird mask?
[14.07.2018 02:47:41] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Yes.
[14.07.2018 02:47:53] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: And was quite the pilot.
[14.07.2018 02:48:14] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I had to ram his ship with a cannonball in Tau-23 once.
[14.07.2018 02:48:40] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: A double edge sword, considering the asteroids.
[14.07.2018 02:49:09] NO-F-Saronsen;: That reminds me. Why aren't launchers universal mounts again?
[14.07.2018 02:49:22] NO-F-Saronsen;: Equipment designers really need a get-together.
[14.07.2018 02:49:46] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Reinforced mounting allows for better connections, supporting heavier munitions and more advanced tracking AI.
[14.07.2018 02:49:51] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: You're asking the wrong person, to be honest. I still weep for the disappearance of the heavier fighter torpedos.
[14.07.2018 02:50:08] NO-F-Saronsen;: I mourn for my sabre with six launchers.
[14.07.2018 02:50:16] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: I spent some time helping Aquila convert some of their old mining ships for commerce interdiction.
[14.07.2018 02:50:36] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Mostly just for errands, but I picked up a few things.
[14.07.2018 02:50:56] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Hm.
[14.07.2018 02:51:02] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Well gentlemen.
[14.07.2018 02:51:11] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: I have to return to active duty.
[14.07.2018 02:51:22] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: And I need to do some sensor adjustments back at Freeport 6.
[14.07.2018 02:51:37] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: If you ever find yourselves in Newcastle, I should be around the Ark Royal.
[14.07.2018 02:51:37] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: A good discussion, though. Drop by Tau-44 sometime, if CR will let you.
[14.07.2018 02:51:42] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: *Smirks*
[14.07.2018 02:51:45] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: They will.
[14.07.2018 02:51:57] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: It is much their home as it is mine.
[14.07.2018 02:52:00] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: OIC ships aren't all that popular in House space, but I may be able to work something out.
[14.07.2018 02:52:03] NO-F-Saronsen;: Honestly, I still don't take 'no' for an answer.
[14.07.2018 02:52:08] NO-F-Saronsen;: So go where you please.
[14.07.2018 02:52:26] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Will do, Mr. Saronsen.
[14.07.2018 02:52:42] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: After all, people like us don't like barriers that much, do we.
[14.07.2018 02:52:58] NO-F-Saronsen;: Just another challenge to climb over.
[14.07.2018 02:52:59] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: Barriers can be good hiding places.
[14.07.2018 02:53:06] NO-F-Saronsen;: Have a good night, ladies.
[14.07.2018 02:53:13] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: Good night. *Nods*
[14.07.2018 02:53:20] NO-OCS-Save.Yourself: you know it's me 'cause I always jump on a terrible pun
[14.07.2018 02:53:20] BAF|Cpt.Kaze.Dagon: And safe winds.
Captain Dagon was seen flying a ship very similar to the Hunters' Hammerhead. I suspect this is that "Marlin" I've heard rumors of. Heavily armed, as one would expect from a Bretonian in the Taus.

Ellen, thank you for the reply. Indeed, the research labs being constructed is why I had hoped for space on Canberra as opposed to Melbourne. The mooring should be sufficient, and from what I can see, the storage bay could easily be fit to my liking.
I appreciate the space, and will keep well out of the way of normal operations.
Subject: I finally get to somewhere Encryption:As high, as our encoder allow Location: Melbourne Station, Tau-44
Greetings to everybody. After some blind jumps, my Wishmaster finally reached Tau space, even without any diplomatic scandals. Right now we docked on Melbourn, and dont know what to do. That jump carrier fully functional for dispatching anything, if you have coordinates, but absolutely not ready for fights.
If you'll say to me where i can drop my wives, I could find application of this cargohold.
Identification: Taskmaster Harold Kane Affiliation: Natio Octavarium, Fourth Fleet
To: Taskmaster Escher; Commander Sydney Harper; Lieutenant Florence Clemens; Specialist Erin Deacon; Specialist Saronsen Illat; Johnathan Jones, ADS; Darren Wilson, ADS; Captain John Riley, OMG
Subject: Research and Development Meeting Encryption:Encroyable Location: Melbourne Station, Tau-44
All,
You are all on this message for one key reason. You are either part of the command structure of the Fourth Octavarium Fleet or you are in a position that will allow us to ensure the success of the Fleet's ability to keep our tiny nation safe while we continue to recover from our exile and near-demise.
I will be convening a meeting over the next few days aboard Melbourne Station to determine the path forward for research and development of our Fleet's capital-class force projection and defensive warships. Taskmaster Escher is representing the Octavarium Intelligence Commission in this endeavour. Commander Harper and Lieutenant Clemens will be representing the Fourth Octavarium Fleet and Fleet R&D as officers. Specialist Deacon has been invited due to her background with multiple organizations throughout Sirius and her knowledge of their technologies. Specialist Illat's history with our nation as well as the Lane Hackers and Ageira Technologies will be invaluable in maximizing the efficiency of the active and passive sensors and EWAR units connected to the LIMELIGHT system.
Three civilians have been brought in for this meeting as well. Johnathan Jones is the chief executive of Aquila Defense Systems and will be instrumental in securing locations for us to build our capital ship prototypes. Darren Wilson is one of Aquila's chief engineers and will be instrumental in organizing the engineers and technicians under his authority as well as providing key guidance in the design of the ship alongside Lieutenant Clemens. Lastly, John Riley of the Octavarium Mercantile Guild has been invited due to his position of respect within the Guild, which will undoubtedly be a success factor in our ability to procure and deliver required materials.
