As a boy, I lacked physical strength and physical prowess like my kin, but I often found myself reading tomes, detailing the past deeds of the Aguilar family, of the exploits of the Corsairs, all the way back to the old pioneers of Hispania. I soon jumped from reading of the past, to reading of the present, and future. While my brothers sparred, I read schematics, manuals, to ships and stations. I read of combat, and finesse at the controls of a Titan. They expected me to be the weak one, can you believe it? The one destined to die during my rite of passage. Yet I was the only one to come out from the cloud, carrying an alien rock in my hold. From that I have learned that our once-proud nation is flawed, not just in relations, but in values. We will not save Crete by charging our enemies with sticks and a few threatening words. If we are to survive, we must change. Else we end up like my brothers, rest their souls.

My name's Raul Diego.
I was born on Planet Crete, from a militant father and a nurse mother.
We were part of the poor population of our Nation, which is about 90% of it.
We always had food issues like everyone else, but we always managed to live in every possible situation.
At age of 15 my father was sentenced to dead by the Elder Council for treason, because he wanted to steal food for us so we can eat.
From that moment I've sworn hate to the Elders because they kept food from us while we were starving.
So I started studying fighting.
I went to my father's friend Paulo to get trained since he was part of the military. He sustained my father's cause but didn't want to risk to get caught.
At the age of 20 I was a very good pilot on his ship, a Gladiator Class Heavy Fighter which is a formidable ship.
But something happened right when we were flying.
We got caught by a patrol there training without permission, so we had to run from there.
We refuged on Freeport in Omicron Theta.
There I finshed my training.
Meanwhile I've heard about you and your cause, which I want to support in memory of my father.
Biography: I was the youngest of seven children. My parents were laborers in the slums of Crete, of no particular account. All but two of my siblings, my youngest sisters, had died of malnutrition or disease by the time I turned 15. My father was a no-account drunk who beat my mother, and drank up the family's money for years until I beat him to death with a length of pipe when I was 16. When I turned 17, I enlisted in the Corsair navy to escape the hellish slums of my homeworld. Most of my earnings were shipped home so that my mother and sisters could afford basic food and shelter. Already unhappy with the starvation and brutality of a commoner's live in the Corsair nation, I became enraged when l years later after learning that my mother and oldest sisters had been robbed and murdered during massive food riots in the Cretan slums. When the Apostate movement began taking hold; I was enthralled by the dream of food security, and a government that cared for its common citizens beyond what was needed for labor in the mines and the shipyards. I took the last of my savings, and my fighter, and defected from the Corsair navy, fleeing to the nearest Freeport for safe haven. I've sold my fighter, and changed over to a non-descript civilian model for the time being. Now I wait, and I watch. I wish to join the Apostates, but I have yet to find a recruiter that isn't an undercover Corsair intelligence agent.
