1,000,000,000 credits I believe Nooblet. One of my factions, RHA just applied for Omega 54. That took a while of trading, that's for sure.
Now on topic. When you die/lose a pvp fight, it is best to log off. Your character's aren't superhumans, they cannot keep fighting after being blown up and shocked by the escape pod ejection.
However, if you don't wish to log off, respawn and make sure you aren't in the same system as any of the combatants.
Wait, so the four hour rule doesn't apply to traders? Or did I misread the first post.
Sir Michael Brown (BMM-Bristol(T)) - Bretonia Mining and Metals, Trader, Captain of the Bristol Ensign John Thomas ([QCR]John.Thomas/[QCR]John_Thomas) - Queen Carina's Royal Fleet, Regular Pilot Christopher "Chris" Armstrong (Armstrong) - Unioner pilot, Independant Crewman Alexander Cooper (Bs|Alex.Cooper) - Order pilot, Black Squadron
I take the rule to mean all players but the possibility of exclusion Admin and associated vessels.
As a trader I follow the 4hour rule, which normally works out to about 24 hours before I make a return to a system.
I know that a few players dont follow the rule; Ive even had players re-engage with me within same battle using the same character.

Traders are not prohibited from returning to a system where they were killed within the past 4 hours in order to conduct trading. If they come back and hunt down and attack the character who killed them, then they have violated the rule. If they simply continue trading, they are ok. The pirate who killed them is also allowed to pirate them each time they come into the system. There is no four hour rule against pirating the same person twice.
On a separate but related issue, the four hour rule only applies to the loser of a fight. It does not apply to the winner. The winner can engage the loser again without waiting four hours, although the winner must give the loser the chance to leave the system where the first fight took place if the loser respawns in it after being destroyed. In other words, if the police destroy a pirate in Texas, and the pirate goes to California, the same police can go to California and attack the pirate again. The pirate, however, may not attack the police except in self defense for the next four hours. The pirate may defend himself if the police attack him again.

Just so we are clear, the trader rules that allow a trader to continue to trade also apply to a smuggler doing an illegal trade route killed by a lawful, right?

as far as I'm aware, yes, smugglers are just traders with more questionable cargo - you're still allowed to smuggle (aka trade) in the same system after dying or fleeting.
Ok what about this situation, as it happened to me last night.
I was in my outcast fighter when i met up with a navy pilot, and 2 other's. Ofcourse a fight broke out. (Was a great fight my 1 on 3 had lots of fun.) I killed the navy fighter, even with 3 fighter's on me, hurt a second, quite a bit then ran into a mine with downed sheild's boom! hehe. I responded on junker base said good fight logged off that char, and went to my trader. All good right? Except navy pilot went to other navy ship same name continued in NY.(NP i left) An hour or so later i noticed the ship that killed me was gone so i logged back in with my outcast to do a transfer. 60 sec's later the lib navy fighter come's to junker base telling me i have to leave as i died(after i killed him i repeat). Arguement insue's,but no fighting.
My point is I left until my killer was gone, so i broke no rule's.I did not reingage the lib guy,so i broke no rule.Lib guy was not in a group with person who killed me,again i broke no rule's.
So without flaming what is everyone else's take on this? Did 1 of us break any rule's here? If i did I will post my own screen's in sanction against me. If i did not, i would like said navy guy(you know who you are) to PM an apoligy.(i will not post screen's against him either way.It will just prove you have some honer)
That migth seem comolex at first glance but when you break it down it becomes much less so. (1) You killed him, meaning he must leave the system or log off. and cannot re-engage you for four hours. (2) You were killed in a group battle with his teammates, you must leave the system or log off, and cannot re-engage them for four hours. (3) You logged off, meaning that he could return to the system, no rules broken. (4) You logged back in, now if only the fighter that landed the killing shot had left and the other combatant was still in system, then yes you broke a rule by not immediately undocking and leave the system, if however they had both left, then no rule was broken.
Remember the 4 hour rule and the leaving system rule applies against you for all members of a group fight that were involved with your death, not just the one who landed the killing blow.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.

You missed the part where i said he was not in a group. We engaged, and onther's joined in.No group/no faction's/all indie from diff group's.And he did leave several time's going between his fighter/bomber/B cruiser. All same name. When i came back on he was in his B cruiser, then switched, and came to junker base in his fighter.
