Of course, his parents did not approve, and tried to take away what he was playing with, but finally gave up when he reached the age of 15. Shortly after reaching the age of 18, he left New Berlin to head for the Munich system, and made his living by mining aluminum. Some years later, he joined the Military as a bomber pilot, stationed in the Hamburg system. When he was not out flying, he was working in engineering on the battleship Westfalen. Now, with the Sigma-21 conflict, he is stationed on battleship Bayern, watching...waiting.

► Full name: Gerwald Klaus
► Brief biography: Klaus was born on Planet Hamburg in the year 799 A.S.. His dad worked as a KMS transport pilot, and his mother died when she gave birth to Klaus. At the age of 14 years old, his dad took him to fly with him on a regular shipment to show him what he could become when he grew up. They were flying through New Berlin, when 2 Red Hessian bombers disrupted their lane, and destroyed the transport. Luckily Klaus survived with minor injuries because he was in the back of the ship at the moment of the attack, but his father was killed instantly when a torpedo hit the cockpit of the transport. Shortly after, a few Military ships came and killed the bombers, and retrieved Klaus's escape pod. After he got back on Planet Hamburg, he was adopted by another family, and lived a normal life until he was 18. Once he became 18 years old he signed up for the Federal Polizei and was a officer for 8 years until a incident that occured on Vierlande Prison made him quit. He had no job, but he remembered what happened when he was 14 years old, so he decided to go and sign up as a Military pilot, to maintain order and keep the Republik safe.

Reasons for joining the Rheinland Militär

As a dedicated person , I believe that i had to return the favor to families of our brave pilots who gave their lives for us to grow and educate in peace. I did my home work well enough and then joined several flights under my father's observation in Kruger, after some brawls with criminals in space, noticed that if i could do some good in Rheinland Military i may Honor our lost and meanwhile Help our Nation with better equipment! so Here i am signing up for all of this.

Born Reinhardt Erwin Henrik von Ehrenberg on New Berlin in 796 A.S., the son of decorated Rheinland Militar-Offizier Kapitain Georg Hans Reimler von Ehrenberg [750-
809 A.S.], of the Alt-Rheinish Aristocratic von Ehrenberg family, and the second daughter of the respected von Jenzig merchant family, Louise Anna von Ehrenberg (nee. von
Jenzig) [763-825 A.S.]. His early years under the care of his mother and paternal grandfather (Henrik Gebhard von Ehrenberg, Freiher von Vallentorm; a long retired Militar
Gunner Officer) on the family's New Berlin estates were happy ones - he spent his days playing games in the snow and learning to fence with sticks under his grandfather's
loving gaze. Although his young life lacked somewhat in discipline, he nonetheless benefited from an early education provided by tutors under his father's employ. Reinhardt
knew little of his father in these early years - being told only that duty to Rheinland kept him away, and that one day the boy would understand. Even so, Georg v. Ehrenberg
was not a loving man - indeed, he was distant and cold, even to his much beloved wife, preferring the companionship of duty and honor over more familial pursuits, a state of
affairs that did not change after the birth of a daughter, Emma Victoria von Ehrenberg [798-813 A.S.].

Following the death of his grandfather in 800 A.S, and beginning his primary schooling at a private New Berlin institution at age 5 in 801 A.S., the boy Reinhardt began to
develop what would become a lifelong love of reading, but he continued to show discipline issues and lack-lustre grades which greatly concerned his father. In an attempt to
provide the boy with some 'structure to his life', Georg v. Ehrenberg enrolled his son in a traditional military fencing academy in 802 A.S., hoping to capitalise on the boys'
joy in the art. Although it had some success, the true change in the boy came after the retirement of old family friend Gerd Albrecht to New Berlin in 803. Herr Albrecht had
served alongside Reinhardt's father since 785, and following injuries sustained during the Nomad Wars, was retired to teach at the Military Academy. He took over the care of
the young boy, and as per his father's request, ensured he learned discipline and pride in his duties. Under the tutelage of Gerd Albrecht, Reinhardt began his education as a
pilot, making his first supervised atmospheric training flight at age 10, in 806 A.S.

On the insistence of his father, and the urging of 'Onkel Gerd', Reinhardt was enrolled in the New Berlin Military Academy to begin his training as a military soldier in the
family tradition in 808 A.S. With the help of nepotism on his uncle's part, Reinhardt had no difficulty in entering the academy, although his connections would cause
occasional problems with other students. Indeed, following an incident with an upper-classmate, Reinhardt was disciplined for striking the other boy. The incident enraged
the boy's father, who angrily chastised him and warned him not 'to disgrace the family like that, ever again.' These words were amongst the last shared between father and son;
Georg Hans Reimler von Ehrenberg was killed when his Bayern-Klasse Schlachtkreuzer RNC Gera was lost with all hands in 809 A.S. Although the official reason for the loss of the
ship remains classified, there were numerous publicly unanswered questions. The family's reputation suffered severely in social circles, although this had little effect on Reinhardt
at the time.

The incident would, however, have a profound effect on the 13 year old - he set himself to his studies with absolute single-mindedness. He spent nearly every waking moment in
study, and all his free hours were spent on the piloting simulator, or in atmospheric flights. His grades continued to impress, but over the following years, he became
socially reclusive, even awkward - only very rarely interacting with his fellow classmates, and speaking even less frequently. Indeed, Gerd Albrecht once commented that
he never did see the boy smile again. By 813 A.S., at age 17, Reinhardt had earned the necessary qualificiations as a Combat Pilot on several craft types, as well as earning
additional distinctions in related fields - advanced navigation, combat theory, Military philosophy, and others. Had it not been for one fateful event, it would have seemed
Reinhardt's entry into the Rheinwehr was simply a matter of formality.

That changed very suddenly in late 813 A.S. While the weeks leading up to his birthday should have been happy ones, preceded by his graduation just three days before, along
with his the homecoming of his younger sister Emma from an art school on Planet Stuttgart. Instead, two days before his graduation, he received word from his heart-broken
mother that Emma had been attacked while celebrating with her friends, and had died of her injuries. Although the culppit was never formally identified or caught, familial
friends shared information that the police believed soldiers of the Rheinwehr had been involved, but an absence of evidence forced the investigation to close. The next weeks
became a blur - Reinhardt took to heavy drinking and drugs, disappearing into a seemingly endless parade of bars, drug dens and the very darkest pits of humanity. He would
drift like this, from dive to dive, living on whatever scraps he could win at the tables or pay he could get for odd-jobs; for more than 5 years. By this time he had changed
his name, and began calling himself 'Morn Bannorn'; he learned to cheat at the tables, and took to cheating well-meaning tourist or good samaritans with 'loans', and
disappearing before the debt came calling. The hard life, and heavy use of drugs would lead him to violence on more than one occasion - making him several enemy he
would have been better off without. Each time, however, he was disgusted with himself and sunk deeper into the morass.

By the age of 23, in 819, he had found himself a job as a deckhand on night-cleaning duty aboard a decrepit old garbage scowl in Liberty, hauling waste back and forth along
the route it had been plying for the better part of a century. Despite having, relatively, settled down, he remained socially reclusive and disliked aboard ship. Following
a drunken altercation turned violent while on shore leave on Erie, he is discharged and left behind. Awaking to find himself once again at the bottom, Reinhardt made his
way to a local bar, and signed on with a mining crew operating in the Pennsylvania Helium fields on an old Hegemon by the name of 'Ugly Buck'. Not much changes in his life
until one day, in 821, he receives a communique encoded from Rheinland - a letter from his mother, who had been trying to track him down since his disappearance in 813 A.S.
Although she is understanding, she urges him to come home; the letter leads to another violent bout of binging.

This time however, Reinhardt is found collapsed and shivering away his latest high, behind some old mining equipment in the cargo bay, by the shipowner - old Liberty miner
Sam Tober. Mr. Tober gave Reinhardt a simple ultimatum: lose the drugs, or lose the job. If he could lose the drugs, he'd get a shot at some real mining - not just stacking
away the work of others in the hold, on the night shift. Reluctant at first, Morn eventually relented - and with a great deal of patience support from the old libertonian
eventually broke his dependency. True to his word, Sam set him up on one of his mining rigs, and set him to work. Until 824, Morn's life continued in this fashion - while
uneventful, boring, work; it gave the lad some much needed roots - and with his finances under strict supervision from old Sam Tober, his gambling debts were soon wiped out.
A little at a time, he began to emerge from his social isolation, and re-found much of the discipline of his youth. Despite renewing and maintaining contact with his mother
via occasional recorded messages and letters, family obligation remained a sore point - and her pleas for his return to Rheinland continued to fall on deaf ears. In late 824,
Sam Tober, at 93 years of age, finally died. A hard life as a miner had earned him his peace. Using the funds he had saved away under his mentor's keen eye, Morn purchased
the old Hegemon for himself at auction, and went into business as an independent miner. He worked like this, in relative peace, until late 825. A.S.

During 825 A.S., while having a quiet meal at one of his favorite Erie miner's taverns, Morn was approached by a local freelancer. Striking up a conversation,
the two spoke for some time about the freelancer's life. Overwhelmed by the boredom of his work, Morn listened avidly; and upon being told that local agencies were paying
good money for captured pilots, resolved to make himself a bit of extra cash on the side. Purchasing a couple of old surplus transport turret arrays, and mounting them, from
then on the old Hegemon would not now flee for the safety of protection when surprised at its work in the ice fields. Instead it put up a fight, and Morn soon found himself
looking forward to the odd encounter. Indeed, little by little, he would venture deeper into the mining fields - even setting course for the further Driftwood and Mead
fields, daring the pirates to come to him.

As time went on the action became a desired part of Morn's life, and the mining began to fall astern. Eventually, a forceful disagreement with members of his crew about
the unnecessary risks, led to a decision: he had had enough of the miners life, it was time to change. Parting ways with his crew, he set about acquiring a freelancer's
licence, and arming his old mining ship to the teeth. He began to take work with the local police, bounty hunters - indeed, anyone would pay him. Encountering a local trader,
he arranged for a special price from a local privately operated station, expanding his network further. Suddenly the boredom was gone, and it was as if he was living a whole
new life - money in his pocket, and adrenaline in his veins. Life seemed good. The work also allows him to expand his knowledge, and his horizons: working as a convoy escort
allowed him to explore and discovery many new places for himself, learning his way around Sirius.

Having spent some time roving across Sirius as a Freelancer, gun-for-hire and all-round independent trader, Morn had visited many of the far flung reaches - he had seen the
devastation of the wars in Bretonia and in Kusari, the rampant piracy in Liberty, and all manner of other sights. Amongst the more memorable of these experiences, several
days spent exploring the many wrecks in Sigma-13 System. Finding such great numbers of Rheinland ships, left over from wars in which generation after generation of his
family had fought and died, brought his thoughts to home and the future. Initially he lapsed into a brief bout of depression, feeling his life wasted, but the feeling soon
passed with the next job, in the next Star System. A letter from his mother a few weeks later brought the matter to the forefront again: she wrote him that she had returned
home from a recent hospitalisation. She had taken ill with a minor ailment, and was already well recovered - but Morn resolved to return to Rheinland and visit his mother.

Thinking himself in no hurry, he slowly began the long journey back to New Berlin, taking work along the way. Here and there he would make a trade, or haul a cargo, steadily
making his way the long way across Sirius. Upon arriving on New Berlin in the dying days of the year, he made his way to the family estate, only to discover that his mother had passed away a few days previously, and the family's estates were being liquidated to cover their substantial debts. After attending his mother's funeral, not knowing what to do, he
sought out the only living person he knew in Rheinland: Gerd Albrecht, now owner of a small private flight school. In addition to his private life, Gerd had been reactivated
into the Reserve-Dienst in 817 A.S. for the Rheinland-Liberty war, and was serving as Reserve-Kapitan of the Bismark-Klasse RNC Falkengraf while she underwent her refit
trials, and re-activation shakedown cruise in preparation for active service.

EXCERPT:

The front room of the small flight school building, along the outskirts of the primary civilian space port New Berlin was pleasant, even inviting.
Bright, warm light bathed the floor, and a plain but pretty secretary sat behind the the front desk. Morn approached the desk, a strained barely-believable smile on
n his face.
'Ich suche Herr'n Albrecht?' The girl looked up briefly, and waved toward the back room. 'Danke', he muttered the word and he shuffled toward the doorway. The
back-room, narrow by the entryway, opened out quickly into a combined loading, maintainance and launch bay. In the centre of the hanger sat a few simple, but clearly
well-maintained civilian trainers. Along the side wall, stacked to the ceiling were spare parts, repair kits and all manner of tech Bannorn didn't recognize. Amongst
one of the many piles stood an aging man, bent double looking for something in a pile of scrap metal. The man's height was obvious even doubled over, and atop his
large, muscular neck sat a stern featured face, with dark hair going grey at the temples. A noticeable scar contorted his face into a bitter grimace, and a certain
stiffness of motion was evident in his right side. Morn smiled for real this time. 'Need some help there, Onkel Gerd?'

The old man jumped bolt upright, turning on the young man who had snuck up on him. Ashen faced, he simply stared for a few moments before finding his voice. 'Mein
Gott... R...Reinhardt, bist du es wirklich? After all these years, mein gott, Reinhardt, what are you doing here? And, oh god, do you know... your mother...'

'Its ok, Onkel, I know. I...I went to the funeral. I didn't realise. I... I would have come home soon..'

'Enough of that now', the old Rheinlander cut across his one-time charge with clipped tones, 'you're here, you're home. What now is the question.' He paused for a
brief moment before continuing: 'Reinhardt, who knows you are back? There are still those, that, well... not everyone understood that what your father did, he did for
Rheinland. If you're going to stay there are things that must be done. Your father's reputation has suffered, but he still had friends in the MND.'

'I know Gerd, I had thought of that... I have something saved, it should be enough to at least clear things up, pay off mother's debts.' Morn hesitated, thinking.
'I thought... I thought I might stay with you a few days, if you'll let me?'

Morn barely had time to finish the sentence before Albrecht's belly full of laughter silenced him. 'Ha, if I'll let you. Ba-ha. Ha. Of course you'll stay here,
with me. Good god boy, you've been away too long - we take care of our own in Rheinland, or have you forgotten all those lessons I taught you?' Brushing himself off,
Gerd grabbed Morn by the arm and led him toward a door at the far side of the hanger marked 'Privat - Eintritt Verboten'. Entering into his old mentor's private
quarter's, Morn felt himself truly relax for the first time in years - almost as if he had stepped out of the heavy jacket of adulthood, into the former innocence of
his childhood.

'The room through there is yours to use for as long as you need, the bathroom is through there. That's the kitchen, there.' Albrecht gestured about the abode as he
spoke, before propping himself against a counter and turning to the lad. 'You still know how to fly, boy?'

'Of course.', Morn was bitter at the suggestion, but then again he could not blame his old mentor, it had been a long time. Swallowing his pride, he simply retorted:
'The things you thought me have kept me alive, ... and fed, for a long while now.'

'Well then... I will arrange for you to fly as a pilot with the Close Fighter Wing aboard my ship, the Falkengraf. The Flight Officer is a friend, Hans Schillert -
good man - I'll make sure he takes care of you, shows you the ropes and so...' He trailed off for a moment, 'but for now... well lad, for now you'd best get some
sleep. We'll arrange everything come the morning.'

Morn did not need to be asked twice. Worn out, exhausted beyond reason, he crashed into the guest bed, and slept a deep sleep.

In the week following his return to New Berlin, Morn spent most of his time sitting around the flight school, catching up on the many military manuals his uncle had gathered
for him in preparation for a return to duty with the Rheinwehr. Thanks to Gerd's efforts, he was commissioned a Pilot and junior officer, and assigned a VHF Wraith in the
RNC Falkengraf's Fighter Wing. One evening, returning from duty aboard the battleship, currently sitting in New Berlin's Orbit, Gerd brought with him an officer of the MND
who claimed to have been close to Morn's father; he assured him that any issues had been resolved, and appropriate records cleared so as to not raise the wrong questions -
a life of service was now open to Reinhardt. Thanks to the savings he had gathered on his jobs over the years, and the timely payout of a contract owned him by a Kusari
organisation, Reinhardt was even able to save his family home from auction - although the lands and much of house's contents had to be sold off all the same. Commissioned,
and relatively content with life, Reinhardt set to his duties under his uncle's command.

Following a futher two weeks of fitting, maintenance schedules, training exercises and battle drills, the RNC Falkengraf was finally released on its refit shakedown; assigned
to a three-system patrol testing various environmental factors and putting the ship through its paces in anticipation of its final delivery to front line commands. The body
of the cruise was uneventful, revealing only minor issues aboard ship - which were routinely corrected as the tour went on. The only notable incidents occured during the
final days of the cruise in a 6 hour period, while the Battleship traversed the Thuringen System. Following an initial, unexpected, contact with a lone ship which was
believed to have been of Bundschuh origin, the ship was stopped to analyse why the ship had not been spotted on long range scanners.

While this was on-going, the ship came under sudden and massive attack from dozens of fighters and bomber vessels operating in a well coordinated wolf-pack. The
RNC Falkengraf's primary systems, including weapons and shields, were devasted in the first few seconds of the attack. A direct nuclear impact against the armored plating of
the command deck caused a hull-breach and a series of secondary explosions killed the majority of the ships senior staff, including Reserve-Kapitan Gerd Albrecht, who died
at his post. Unable to launch fighter's due to heavy damage to the launch bay, and effectively unable to fight back, the RNC Falkengraf was helplessly adrift in space within
a few minutes. And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the attack ended. Perhaps the enemy believed the ship lost as it fell out of the astral plane, burning, dead in
space.

With no other officers to be found, Reinhard von Ehrenberg took command of the ship. Issuing orders that any man still living was to man the nearest station
he could find, they regained control of the battered vessel and on thruster power alone limped home.

EXCERPT:

'Bwaaaaaah-Bwaaaaah-Bwaaaah. Bwaaaaah-Bwaaaaah-Bwaaaah. Bwaaah-Bwaaah-Bwaa-aaa-wa. Bwaaah...' The headsplitting, brain-frezzing sound of the ship's
battle-klaxons was all pervasive as Reinhardt ran onto the bridge. Even before he cleared the doorway another wave of shuddering thunder rolled through the
deck, the entire ship seemed to heave, and before he knew it Reinhardt hit the railing separating the command deck from the access way.

'Bwaaaaah-Baaaaang'. A massive explosion ripped through the ship somewhere. 'Below decks', 'maybe hangars' the young officer thought to himself. Raising his
voice to shout, though it came out more like a scream: 'What the hell is going on?!' His scream caught the attention of the ships captain, his close friend
and mentor, Reserve-Kapitain Gerd Albrecht. 'Control yourself, Reinhardt. Enemy attack formations on our port side, high.' The captain gestured at a command
terminal nearby, 'make yourself useful man.' Turning on the officers at the terminal facing the front of the bridge, he swiftly moved on: 'Right, batteries
two and three, target the front wave and...'

'Sir...SIR!' Another series of explosions ripped through the ship. The junior officer who had shouted out, thrown on the ground, clambered back to his feet.
'Sir, Flight Deck Officer reports hangar doors destroyed, unable to launch any...' Another explosion sent the boy flying. This time he was not so lucky as he
crashed into the bulkhead with a sickening, wet, crack and flopped onto the steel deck, dead.

Reinhardt, who had been looking directly at the young officer, fought to hold back the nausea. He had little enough time to dwell on the sight before him.
Yet another volley of missiles found their mark against the ship's hull, tearing deep gashes across the armored plate. Alarms and klaxons howled away in a
horrendous cacophony of misery.

'Incoming. Proximity Alert. Incoming. Proximity Alert.' The cold, metallic, voice hardly did it justice Reinhardt thought to himself as he glanced out into
the coldness of space beyond the armored bridge viewing window. Bearing down on them in that moment of breathless, eerie, silence came a wing of heavy bombers,
their guns still glowing from their last pass. In a way, it was beautiful. 'Proximity Alert. Incoming. Proximity Alert.'

'Someone silence that damn thing.' The shout came from the captain. A moment, another, and still: 'Incoming. Proximity Alert.' Then he roared: 'In Gottes
Namen! I SAID SILENCE IT.' Fumbling clumsily at the panel in front of him, Reinhardt complied, and the bridge was deathly quiet. He watched the display;
300 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters...'

The sensation was indescribable. Silence and yet boundless noise; fiery warmth and yet the freezing cold of space around him. The explosion was
cataclysmic. The nuclear volley tore through the armored hull like a child tears away wrapping paper from a long awaited toy. The hull wailed and buckled,
and as the air rushed out, the fire came rushing in. Reinhardt could hear nothing, could feel nothing. Looking around, he hardly knew where he was - it no
longer looked like a Rheinland battleship. Half the bridge had blown away and been crushed in on itself, and the rest was torn and twisted. They were dead in
space. Strewn about lay a half dozen burned and battered corpses, and amongst them a handful of injured survivors trying to work out if they were still alive.
Pinned against a bulkhead, torn clean in half across the torso, was Kapitan Albrecht. Trying to regain himself, he turned to the officer he had seen beside
him moments before the explosion- a staff officer by the name of Seifert.

'It...It...looks...like you are in command now, Herr Seifert.' Reinhardt almost chocked on the words, unable to tear his eyes away from his uncle's corpse.
'Herr Seifert?'Blinking, once, twice, and shaking his head, he turned to look at Herr Seifert. He was immediately, and violently, sick. Where once had been
the Marine-offizier's face was a burned, twisted mass of blood and metal.

He just stood there. At least 10 seconds went by in silence. Only the sound of stirring behind him, one of the survivors clumsily picking himself up onto his
feet, roused him to action. Turning around he surveyed the scene. Only one thing to do. Only one thing to do! He lurched toward the Kaptain's post, steadying
himself against a buckled beam as he did so. Reaching for the intercom control, the painful feedback in his blown out ear-drum let him know well enough that
he was broadcasting, he just hoped there was anyone left alive on the ship to hear him.

'All stations... any man still living, man the nearest post you can find. We're going home. For the Vaterland.'

Badly wounded himself, Reinhardt was admitted to the closest Military Medical Hospital upon reaching safe orbit, where he was treated for severe internal injuries, major
burns across sides and back, the loss of his biological right eye (replaced by cybernetics), as well as chronic nerve damage to his right hand and leg. With no further
directives; while the repairs to the RNC Falkengraf began - the damage having being so serious, it necessitated a virtually complete rebuild of the ship - Reinhardt
submitted his report, and application to the First Fleet Capital Command Training Programme.

Current Status: Recuperating from injuries sustained in line of duty, Light duties with Reserve forces. Awaiting further process/Orders.

EXCERPT:

Structural reinforcements started today: 4. Battery Position 3 repair schedule filed at 1534 hours, ship time. 'Herr von Ehrenberg, I really must insi...'
New adaptor circuit kits delivered: 53 of the necessary 113. Neon-stabilizing cells requested by the quarter-master, delivery schedule unknown. H-Fuel
loading cells and stabilization equipment delivered to shipyard, awaiting transp... A firm, but gentle, hand pulled the data-padd out of Reinhardt's hands,
interrupting his reverie. Annoyed, he looked up to see the staff doctor responsible for his care: an aging professional in his late fifties, with small, beady
but caring eyes and a few more worry-lines than were perhaps necessary.

'Yes, what is it Herr Doctor?' Reinhardt did not conceal his impatience. 'Well?'

'I really must insist Herr von Ehrenberg..., Reinhardt, you must rest - this constant exertion - it simply isn't conducive to your recovery. Your optical
nerve- well, it needs to recover from... well, that thing.' While he spoke, the doctor gestured at the cybernetic implant which had been surgically
implanted to replace Reinhardt's right eye. 'The less time you spend reading, even no-doubt important', he glanced down at the padd he had taken from his
patient, '...repair status reports, can wait.' The look on his face was stern, belying the amusement the old doctor felt - he'd treated more than a few
Militar officers, the capital ship officers were often the most stubborn. Always worrying about their ships; the thought briefly passed through his mind, as
it had many times before, as he began to gather together the padds strewn across the bed and side-table.

Reinhardt watched the doctor gather his pads in silent thought. He absentmindedly picked up the closest data-padd and glanced at the contents:
Green paint for secondary hull ordered from shipyard, delivery in 3 days, 1350 tonnes Paint: Type Green A-52/RM. A snort escaped the Rheinlander by way of
a laugh. 'Perhaps you are right Herr Doctor, perhaps you are right. But if I cannot read... will you let me walk the grounds yet?'

The old doctor paused for a moment, and then nodded slowly. 'Not today, but tomorrow... and you must turn the implant off, at least while you are in the
sunlight. You will need a few more days... perhaps a week, before...'

'That is acceptable Herr Doctor.'

Without another word, placing the padds on the desk along the wall, the doctor left the room to continue his rounds. A few minutes passed, Reinhardt
stared out of the window, watching the snow fall gently onto the far hills of New Berlin. He was again interrupted in his thoughts by the sound of the door.
He was about the turn on the Doctor again, when he realized the sillhoutte in the door was no medical professional, but a pilot who had flown in his wing
aboard the Falkengraf.

'Alfi!' He was happy to see the man. Though his time aboard ship had not been long, Pilot Alfred Furch had made him feel right at home immediately. The two
had become close, and flown most of their missions together.

'Good to see you Reinhardt. You're looking... more alive.' The young man chuckled softly as he examined his bed-ridden comrade. 'How do you feel?'

'As you say; Alive.' Reinhardt too laughed; 'impatient, more than anything, really. Everything aches', that much was certainly true, 'but I'm keen to be
up and about again. I want to fly again, dammit!'

While his friend had been speaking, Alfred had pulled up a chair from the nearby desk and settled in it now. Looking up at Reinhardt again, he smiled;
half-gesturing and half-indicating he tossed the flowers he had bought in the hospital lobby on the nightstand. 'Fur dich...', the paused for a moment while
the flowers settled, 'I bet. I don't want to make your mood worse, but I fly again today... I am assigned to Fliegerjagtkommando 131, Schwerin, Munich system!'

'Lucky Schwein!' Reinhardt beamed, despite his impatience to be out there again himself, he was truly happy for his friend - Alfi was a good pilot. Even as he
made his exclamation, he could not help notice the brand new insignia on Alfred's well made grey-green uniform jacket. Without missing a beat, he continued:
'Oh! And promoted to Fähnrich, no less!' His smile turned devlish, 'Couldn't have happened to a worse person! Ha!'

'Danke. Danke. I'm sure they regret it already at the Hauptquartier.' The men chuckled together for a few moments, before Reinhardt reached out and patted on
his friend's arm. 'But seriously: well done, you really DO deserve it. Now if I can just get out of this damned hospital while Doctor Brechtel isn't looking,
maybe I can sneak into the first fleet. Ha.'

'Still no word from the academy about your application?'

'Not yet. It has only been a few days. Even if they don't give me the Falkengraf, at least I hope they let me get out there again... Light duty with the
Reserve-Dienst is not exactly what I had in mind...' Reinhardt began to shift uncomfortably in his bed again, he really was starting to go stir crazy.

'Have no doubt my friend.' Alfi's tone was soft, reassuring, 'The bureaucrazy, heh, well the bureaucracy may be slow but it always gets there in the end.
You'll be up there again in no time.' The young man's face hardened slightly, dark thoughts passing across face like a flash of anger for a few moments,
'Besides, no doubt you're looking forward to getting revenge on those Bundschuh Hunde!'

Reinhardt hesitated a few seconds, mulling over his reply. It was true, he didn't exactly have fond memories of those horrible seconds in the Westerwald,
those moments of fire and ice; but in the end he could not find it in himself to ignore the lessons his grandfather had taught him, and hate those men out
there, whoever they were. 'Revenge? No, not revenge, Alfi. I think... I think I prefer to fight my enemies without hatred.'

The silence that followed his words hung in the air. Reinhardt looked at his young friend, looking for any sign of offence; Alfred met his gaze with his
pale blue eyes. If he liked or disliked what he had heard, the pilot gave no indication of his feelings on his face. Instead, he simply nodded.

Rising from his chair. Making a general motion with his clasped arms toward the bed, he continued: 'I hope you make a full recovery soon, mein Bruder. I
must go, I'm due to depart for Munich within the hour... I wanted to come see you before I went.'

'Thank you, mein Freund. Good hunting out there.'

Alfred smiled and headed for the door. Pausing on the threshold, he turned back. 'I'll put in a request you be returned to light duty. The least I can do.'
With a nod, he left the room.

Red Hessian Army. In addition to this, protracted emnity (and a Trade Embargo) with the Kusari over the Sigmas is on-going.

► Link to your reports: Not clear what this means exactly? Forums reports/in game sanctions? If so, none at all.

► Reason for joining?: Always wanted to fly Rheinland. Specifically the first thing I did after Disco DL was set up a Rheinland BS; after reading forums I realized I rather went about it the wrong way, decided to fix that by making and justifying a proper Rheinland character.

I know of the current conflict with Kusari over Sigma 21. I also believe that the GMG is a part of this conflict but am not totally sure. Otherwise the Dresden system seems to have been mostly ceded to the Red Hessians. Though I do believe that there is still some conflict going on against them, just that Rheinland seems to be purely on the defensive there (last big activity of them that I saw was them blasting a base in Omega 7 with some Coalition support).
There also seems to have been some active conflict against the Corsairs in Omicron Xi before the war with Kusari/GMG started which went well for Rheinland.
