Details of the Project:

The Skagerrak project consists of repairing and upgrading the recently captured LNS-Ontario battleship by the joint forces of the Unioners and Captain Yann Blackwings. The battleship having suffered damage in several sections during its capture then it becomes necessary to carry out essential repairs. Straight out of Captain Blackwings' head, the LNS-Ontario, which will be renamed Skagerrak, is the last-generation battleship of Liberty's shipyards.

However, the Captain plans to use it as a warship but also as a mobile base including all the equipment to actively fight enemies, endure the extremely harsh conditions of space and be able to move in its surroundings for months without stops if necessary. Significant transformations and changes must therefore be made to succeed.

Several parts of the ships must be changed. A list of these has been established by the different engineers and many ressources are out into this operation. The ships is quite vulnerable to the attacks during its repairs but the Unioners and other parties deployed several forces. Only few people with the whole organizations are really aware of the Project.

The Project through active cooperation between different groups with varied and complementary skills must build a vessel to which the difficulties of realization had been very large, often preventing the unrealization of similar projects. The Skagerrak is a unique vessel and is the fruit of both military and scientific genius, but also of the ideal and the human dream.

General repairs

Commodities and informations:

In order for the Skaggerak to be fully operational again and ready for its future deep space operations, basic repairs must be made. They consist of reinforcing the armor and filling the many breachs in the ship's hull. Following the boarding operation, the interior of the ship was sometimes seriously damaged because of the violent fights.

The main internal systems are thus disabled. These repairs are very thorough and time consuming. They also require special attention. The Overlord is a very sophisticated battleship class. In addition these repairs require a range of very precise resources difficult to access as well as very competent engineers.

Reactor Overhaul:

The current main reactor works on the antimatter initiated fast-fission but it is not able to hold long trips within space.

The addition of an external module of Thorium Mox coupled with Helium will produce more energy for equivalent consumption. Nuclear devices will complete the system. The remaining elements of the disintegration will thus become by adding new energy, radioactive and will disintegrate to produce additional energy in large quantities.

As a result, reactor protection needs to be reinforced. Gadolinium has been chosen for its neutron absorbing properties, which are mass produced in nuclear reactions.

Engines Overhaul:

The Skagerrak engine is a XV-999 tachyon focused plasma propulsion engine.

Built by Juneau shipyards in cooperation with Ageira, it is used for a fast, flexible move for a long time. With the improvement of the engine reactor, it will be able to offer a much longer displacement while keeping the main basic characteristics.

The improvements are mainly focused on the transmissions and the armor of this one as well as its reliability. If this operation wants to be realized, the engineers need specific methods but also a drydock.
