This is not childish banter. This is an answer to the disrespect against the effort and heartblood people put into this damn 15 years old game, mod, server and community. This is exactly the disrespect we've been encountered with in the last 24 hours by people who have absolutely forgotten what their place is.
People are here not just to have some random pews in Connecticut. Discovery is a community of trials. This is not a game a casual gamer plays, because casual players don't stick to the same game for months and years and return to it after years to stay for months and years. Love it or hate it, but Discovery is not just a place for nerds to be nerds. This community is a perfect example of real life communities and how to deal with them. You have some people who enjoy their pixel powers here. You have people who go weird lengths to ensure someone else loses their pixel powers. But you also have people who stay here and spend their spare time away from real life to tell stories. To build something. Characters, factions, both inRP and ooRP. People group up, become friends, become enemies, vice versa over the years. Some people have been here ten years ago. Some people here haven't been able to write a single english sentence ten years ago. Some people learned english because of this community and met people from all over the world (and serbia) and learned about other cultures. Some people have developed certain skills, have moved into certain professions because they grew up with Freelancer/Discovery over years. People have made friends here and play with these friends not just Discovery. They sit in voice chats with another and have fun and work towards something they find funny.
Like it or not, but Discovery allows to work towards certain goals that are trials on their own. The compromises one needs to endure to achieve certain things, the experiences people make this way. To me, people who genuinly ask for a fresh restart are just the same as the people who are so eager to force other people out of this community because they can't handle their own egos. People who absolutely disregard the effort people put into the the mod, the forum content, the community and their creations. Absolutely disgusting.
If you want a fresh restart, leave and have your restart somewhere else. Otherwise you're not different from the people who rather cause damage to the entire community for the sake of ego and power games. Just because one guy doesn't have the patience and resilience to do their own thing in a rather harsh community doesn't mean the community needs to suffer for it.
When the world is against you, maybe you are the issue.

Well I hope you are more proud for achieving pixel glory, but perhaps others have other passions that desire to involve themselves, especially when this place feels constantly unstable?
If you have more posts on the forum around than me it doesn't mean your so called "achievements" are any more worth it. I invested myself in this community for a long time, and I can tell you it felt better before, and it was great. People come and people go and your condescending attitude proves quite the opposite of what you want so hard to represent and fight for.

It's not the entire dev team vs the admin team, it's not even that. It's an issue that two or four people need to figure out their issues and find a middle ground.
I just wish the game wasn't a popularity contest, that Oorp dislikes didn't impact the game, and that people would RP in good faith without trying to find ways to power-trip each other. Not every question is an attack that deserves to be heckled. Not every action is stupid because you don't like someone.

Everyone's getting a tad too excited with their favorite pastime of accusing everyone else of being bad people. Which is coincidentally something most people are incapable of accepting about themselves. This is no way to go into the next year. So why not switch it around a bit? I'll start.
The people of discovery aren't all that bad. Once you get over the infernal smell of sulfur, you'll find that their horns are most majestic, and that the skipping of their cloven hooves is pleasantly rhythmic!
