I wish we were writing to our long-time allies under better circumstances, but as you undoubtedly know, we have entered a state of war with the Kingdom of Bretonia. We do hope we can maintain our good relations as I do not believe you held the Bretonian Crown in high regard before this incident, and I very much doubt you approve of their aggression towards us unlike some of our allies.
Of course, our good relations will from this point be a secret with in the confines of Bretonia, but rest assured that the Guild still considers Gateway to be an ally.
This is some heavy news, and it brings tidings of how streched Bretonia mush be now, to resort o such extreme measures. While we can't, unfortunately, help you much in Bretonia, but do let us know if there's anything we can do to help you outside of the Crowns sight, aft all, we've managed to maintain contact with Falkland Station all this time since Gallia invaded the Taus, so I'm sure we can continue to do some discreet business in the edge worlds. We'll try to use what little politcal power we've got to lobby for you, but the Crown still manages a lot of the Government, especially in this war. But please, do not hesitate to call us if we can help with anything.
Till the day we can be together again, Ryan Boreal,
Vice-President of Gateway Shipping, Inc.
Thank you for your positive response and assurances.
I would like to discuss a contingency plan, a maneuver to address a situation we're still fighting to avoid.
While the conflict is currently still in full swing, the Bretonian assault is fearsome and we must make plans for a future in which Aland defense falters and the station is taken by the Crown. This would leave the fate of its sister station, Falster, in uncertainty.
Unless the capture coincides with a peace treaty with the Crown, they are likely to give administrative control of the station to one of the crown corporations, Bowex or BMM.
We wish to avoid such a scenario, and are offering Gateway the station's administration in the case of forceful seizure of Aland without a simultaneous peace treaty that would leave Falster in the Guild's hands. While the Crown would likely prefer their in-house companies managing the station, it seems unlikely that they would attempt nationalization if you've already obtained administrative control. After all, their war goal is Aland and not Falster.
If you're interested in such a plan, it may be wise to have Gateway personnel already on board the station - a big ask, I know, as the station is currently under attack. If you would agree to that, it would be best to smuggle said personnel in on IMG or ALG ships bound from Rheinland; if that's considered too dangerous, we could still manage a handover during a Bretonian boarding of Aland, although we would have to act very quickly.
Please let me know if Gateway Shipping is interested,
My name is Alan Shepard, the CEO of Gateway Shipping Inc. Since Ryan Boreal, our 2ic. is away from his own office I automatically received Your request on my table. This request initiated a series of discussions about our common future because it raises serious security issues. Sirius is changing and it is difficult to stay the same for everyone, there will be serious changes for Gateway Shipping Inc. too.
As long as the Bretonian government does not give a concrete answer regarding to Aland's and Falster's future, I consider this offer to be speculation and manipulation but we all know that these two things are motivating everything now. I believe IMG needs all the help in the situation but the transfer of full control would only be enough to save the base and saving the lives of personnel. Is difficult to judge the outcome of this action. if IMG give up the base in favor of Gateway, and You enter into a peace treaty with Bretonia, in the end game, the base will no longer be reclaimed by IMG.
... furthermore ... "this action will not really appeal to our other allies" ... those who were supporting us during the war and they did not hide in the cloak of neutrality.
Currently, every square meter is dangerous and full of spies and saboteurs. The final decision will not be made here and now. I hope I was clear, understandable and friendly. We will continue to discuss it on an encrypted channel. One of our Blackwing squadron agent is about to visit you soon... and further informs you.
In the meantime, we are waiting for your answer and details of the plans.
