So is PvE, since that's as big a game element now.

It's a roleplay event, not a PvP event.
The LN ships are being moved to Bretonia, this is an event to see and be part of that moving ingame, instead of the ships just warping around during patches

What is the point in the assailants then? This sounds like on rails but with craftier wording. I'm just struggling to figure out what the objective of a hostile ID would be here other than scoring cheap blues.

And what´s problem with that? Since when fighting just for fun of it and to simply make people log casually stopped to be a thing? We are in "results of PvP events must always matter, no fights just for fun anymore" era now or what?

(04-03-2019, 02:31 PM)Lythrilux Wrote: It's not that. Call me a sceptic but given the rumours people that the Hypergate is to be used as a sucker punch to instantaneously end the Gallic War in a single moment, with a Sirian victory, and how the Dev team want to end the war ASAP, I find myself concerned about the direction that this will go in. On further inspection, this seems like a test-bed for the recently added titan content. Maybe the second part of this series will provide the chance for Gallia to push back. I can't say I'm entirely privy to what the Devs are planning, however, given what happened in the last Official event in NL that Gallia was a part of, I can't help but be suspicious.

It's not that I'm against simply logging in for events or whatever where there's nothing to be gained other than pews (I'm actually planning such things myself right now), and not everything has to always revolve around gain/lose, it's just that the lack of transparency in this comes across as semi-concerning given the history.

Well its all a little weird the way its been going. The irony of that kind of resolution would be something. Gallia made to win for years, then suddenly made to lose. I always like to remind that I'm cool with whoever wins as long as its was somewhat fair...? Everything looking the way it has for so long, if a sudden miraculous turn around occurs that is beyond what's actually realistic, it will not be a good way to resolve the conflict, even if the side I support wins. That's not how I would have liked to see us win.

Quite frankly, conventionally, Bretonia as is can't win on its own, but I suppose with its re-acquirement of shipyard, it could justify staying in the war a while yet. But to suddenly have the Gauls gone? Capt. Morgan made a good suggestion for a big counter offensive, something that should have been planned a long time ago in my eyes. But even if every attacking battlegroup was successful, can they be justifiably driven all the way back to Tau-23 or Languedoc? This whole time I've been thinking its not likley. Only after years more of war would they be driven out. A major offensive at this time would likely only succceed in driving the battle back to Leeds, or Tau-31 for a while. As much as I'd like the war to be over soon, that realistically means Bretonia's loss, not its victory. Unrealisitic miracles that will magically let Southampton just pop back where it was like none of it has been happening isn't very creative.

Battle events could be used to justify a push back, or at least justify an end to the New London siege one way or the other.

I like this event idea, its a step in a good direction. Its better than big shifts of NPC assets without anything happening in game to back them up. I know not everything can have a back up event but in most cases we can, we should! Only one more step in setting a destroyable objective, or requiring Marines be delivered to a station by Freighter runs, and we'll have ourselves some real interesting events. RP events like this will be good to set up battles though.

This says everything that has to be said in regards of the current unfair and unrealistic events against the Gallics. Personally, as a hardcore GRN player, i lost any sort of motivation to even log for your events about this war, knowing that now the devs are editing the lores as it pleases them to turn what looked like a merciless defeat into a miraculous push back and win. I lost any sort of motivation on doing ANYTHING related to this, since no matter much RP is involved (Looking back in time, people wanted to surrender, and according to the same people the devs said "no"), making player effort nothing but dust. Selecting only a certain part of RP, and leaving the other part into shadows, not even giving a chance for some sort of retaliation. If that's how you plan on pushing Gallia back, then boys and girls, you can pre plan NPC events and watch NPCs shooting at each other instead of player activity, since it means nothing to you.

I like this event. I will bring my cruiser.

MGTOW - Man Going Their Own Way

MGTOW is freedom. Search MGTOW on Youtube and look for great content creators like Johnny Mgtow, Hammer Hand, Undead Chronic, Sandman, Man 101, Happy Hamble Hermit etc.

It's never too late to free yourself from plantation!

I like this. As a consequence, =DSE- will be RP'ing along side the Liberty Armada. When you make it through the Hypergate lads, make certain to stop off at =DSE-'s base in Poole, Dorset Station. We are building the trade lane to Plymouth Outpost, Ageira's base of operations, from Carnarfon.
Grab a a coffee and do-nuts. Even got Liberty ale should you prefer. Don't take it all though!
