Following the events that resulted in the Cult of Technology's vault being unlocked and pillaged in an uncharted Liberty system adjacent to Kepler, Ingenuus took it upon themselves to learn all they could about the abandoned station. After rummaging through sever thousand files, Doctor James Erzie found an amount of information on some unknown weaponry that was in the database. Some of the files were encrypted, while others laid completely unprotected.

With blueprints to many of these weapons, it was only a matter of time before Ingenuus was able to facbricate them, however, they weren't in the weapons production business on a factory level, nor did they have intentions of doing so. With this in mind, they proceeded to use the Angurvadal as a test bed as its power supply and auxiliary power supply were more than sufficient to power any of the weapons they created.

Ingenuus began shipping a small amount of essential supplies to Port Tacoya (x.x.x.x.x.x) to support the construction of these newfound technological pieces. While each piece was being assembled, they were compartmentalized to allow for their transport from Port Tacoya to Wolfsburg Shipyard; where the Angurvadal set its moor. Each of these modules simply needed an external mounting process, and they were ready for use. This complicated things to a small extent, as the distance was colossal, and the risk of misplacement was rather high. With cloaking technology, however, the transport of these cannons was simple, as long as the pilot was patient enough.

Once the prototypes arrived, it became clear that the execution of the designs was shoddy, and multiple failures caused catastrophic failure on many components. This feedback and diagnostics revealed key components missed, and new prototypes were shipped in their stead. These new prototypes did successfully amend most of the issues with these extensively complex weaponry, like the issue of EMP dispersion of the electromagnetic flaks. While the weapons were effective at certain specific aspects, they lacked in others. The Kinetic weaponry could not be properly accelerated to be effective against shields, and the Gale cannons simply took greater power than the punch they delivered. These trade-offs were welcome in most cases, because they bridged the shortcomings of the Angurvadal's combat potential.

After extensive testing, the weaponry was ready for field use. Much of this would be tempered in battle as the crew learned to use them more efficiently. But that's a story for another day.

Following the events of construction and inevitable proof of concept construction, attention was given to the further encrypted files. After elaborate efforts of many individuals, the next file had finally been decrypted.

The Volley Cannon

The Volley is a multi-shot, "shotgun"-type battleship defense weapon, designed to keep smaller vessels away from the mighty Valor class. The Gallic capital ship doctrine focuses heavily on grand battleship warfleets, but the heavy, slow weaponry on these ships leaves them somewhat vulnerable to smaller, very close vessels. The Volley was intended to alleviate this problem, but the doctrines have since changed to focus more on light support. Although a number of these weapons were produced, their fate is unknown.

Using materials left-over materials from the previous project and additional alloy from Ames Research station, Ingenuus constructed a single proof of concept of this weapon, to be mounted on the Angurvadal once again, since it is the only test bed for battleship weaponry. Results were inconclusive, and the weapon is undergoing continuous testing.

Catastrophic Failures and Starting Over

After continuous stress testing, poor execution during production or transport revealed a flaw in the production of the Battleship Kinetic Turret. During one field test, the auto-loading mechanism failed, causing the ammunition to shell off in the body of the turret chassis. This catastrophic failure has fully destroyed the weapon, and thus required immediate replacement.

After continuous stress testing, it was revealed that the construction process amendments paid off, and after several diagnostic tests, it became apparent that it was necessary to outfit the Angurvadal with multiple chassis, and thus production began once more. Ingenuus shipped the essential supplies to Port Tacoya once again to support the construction of yet another Kinetic Turret. Made in the same compartmentalized fashion, they were transported from Port Tacoya to Wolfsburg Shipyard. After the mounting process, and they were ready for use, but at the expense of some rather cumbersome looks.

With a maiden voyage and mission to aid the Hessians in progress, Ingenuus took the time to construct additional pylons - primarily facilitating weapon racks for standardized hardpoints for additional experimental weaponry to be used on. Further data had been decrypted, and with it a new challenge. All previous weapons had been on the battleship's heaviest and lightest hardpoints - and these new weapons would be on a separate size mount entirely.

The following data was decrypted from the copied material:

Very little is known about this weapon other than its name: "Thumper." Although it's clearly designed for use on human capital vessels, its origin is unknown. This weapon has a high firing rate, optimized for hitting smaller targets.

With ample supply lanes created to facilitate production, and the recent expansions to Port Tacoya, many experimental trials were attempted in its assembly, and one efficient way to finally be completed. The design idea was clear - make a high-velocity primary weapon with matching range, no matter how inefficient. The result has yet to be tested, but the prototypes were completed with general ease, with basically no data to pool off of other than their design schematics, it was up to Ingenuus to create new documentation for their use.

Congruently, Ingenuus produced a spare Volley cannon, in lue of the catastrophe that took the other heavy weapons clean off, the chief engineer on the Angurvadal thought it was prudent to produce spare modules to reduce downtime, to which Doctor Erzie agreed, and authorized its construction. All weapons were shipped to Ronneburg Base, where the Angurvadal briefly moored to move them into the hold.

Foreseen Consequences

With the supply lines established through Hessian space to Ronneburg, and other supply lines from Lanzarote station to the same - material movement for Ingenuus has been optimal. The Angurvadal traded blows with a few Corsairs, using the asteroid field to their advantage, however, not without taking critical damage to one Volley cannon, and significant damage to the other after its replacement. Due to the new demand for these cannons given their combat range effectiveness, Doctor Erzie commissioned the construction of a modified version with additional exterior armor plating, and had two replacement models made and shipped the Ronneburg.

Using plating previously slated for the Angurvadal's construction on Wolfsburg, these modifications were made, and the weapons moved as quickly as possible, where transports moved to install them directly on the hull, exchanging them for the damaged cannons. This was an optimal response, given many of these consequences were unforeseen - others were, however, well within view. After this fact, Ingenuus took the liberty of moving excess materials to Wolfsburg, allowing for the hasty assembly of modified replacement components ready for the next time the Angurvadal would moor.

Through the Auxesian Affiliate Network, Doctor Erzie was requested by Keeper Leviathan to create copies of weapons already produced and used on the Angurvadal. The EMP flaks initially constructed had harnessed their interest, and with it, Ingenuus had the idea of profit as well. Using a significant number of surplus supplies recently delivered to Livadia Shipyard, they ordered the construction of two units as requested.

With haste, they were completed, tested, and then shipped using the first flight of the prototype Ingenuus Intergalatic Cargo Shuttle. Which features in essence, a sophisticated jump drive system, connected to basic propulsion, designed to be controlled by a single operator. While the cargo limitations of this vessel is basically limited to equipment alone, it serves as an excellent alternative when running parts to and from the Edge Worlds.

Following its entrance into the Inverness system, the operator sent it to Valravn Citadel - where it would be mounted on its desired client.
