have you guys learned nothing from the past ten years of fake news and misleading writing?

That being said, what eigos suggest in the original message should have been titled "patron for modeler/content creator", as our definition for Developer has nuances of administration and content selection in the mod.
In this thread: mass overreaction.

Eigos has said that he can dedicate more time to creating content if he has the means to do so. He hasn't said he would stop his current activities if he doesn't. As others have said, this could already be happening under the table (we know that some devs have taken commissions for modelling) and there's nothing to monitor/police it. As least this is more upfront and open about it

He's also giving up his time and skills to create content - we're very fortunate as a group that we do have so many devs/admins/moderators willing to do this for free. Some of you here are telling devs to go away if they don't want to do extra work for free and that that they are corrupt. The expectation that everything should be given to us for free can be a little toxic to be honest, as evidenced in this thread.

If you have the time/skills/means to do this work for free then that's great, but maybe Eigos doesn't - why are you so eager to get rid of a resource from our already dwindling group?

If you don't agree with it then don't donate...
