Generally speaking I highly encourage people who aren't that good at snub combat to go sign up for events in places they don't usually hang out or on sides they don't usually fight for, spend the eight mill to make a VHF or whatever you think you need to improve in, and go get yourself brutalized consequence-free. You might get a kill or two, you might have fun, you'll definitely learn a thing or two (especially if you record the fight for your own purposes and watch it back later to learn from your mistakes), and the event will be more lively for everyone. Don't worry about suckin' because you're there and you're contributing to the brawl even if you eat your own mine or get dusted by a cannonball ten minutes in.

Mind you, do as I say, not as I do. I have a bad habit of sleeping through these things. (Y'all need to stop doing events during my prime catch-up-on-the-previous-week's-missed-sleep time.)

Retired, permanently.

Snub events are the prime example of snubs being anti fun. It's just dudes in top tier fighters obliterating the other side that doesn't have access to a top tier fighter, or just one side has wesker and his posse stacked on it.

Movement, spatial awareness, and understanding your ship are the attributes to winning cap pvp - aim is pretty much handled by TS, although vs more skilled players blindfiring can come into play.

I feel like the problem with Snub pvp is, comparatively at least, it places too much emphasis on aim over other pvp characteristics. People will say that movement is also an important part of Snub pvp - and that's not entirely wrong - but if you want to make any headway in a pvp encounter you've got to turn and shoot, and a lot of people find FL's aim mechanics in fighters infuriating (for a good couple years I did).

I think the answer to making fighter pvp more fun and accessible isn't torps and missiles (although, bringing back aux slots and having different variations of MR, Escopeta, Tartarus etc would be cool), but instead making it easier to aim fighter guns. I would propose adding +200m/s to all fighter guns. That is the first step.

Otherwise, like I said largely fighter pvp hasn't changed at all except for the minority of players who study the mechanics and conn all day, rather than players who haven't managed to get over that hurdle yet.

+200ms to every fighter gun would make pretty much every single player gravitate towards as high damage per shot gun that they can find

magmas would become practically hitscan and id be able to delete someones hull in two passes with minimal effort, and average joe wouldnt pose any threat to me with his 950ms flashpoints because ill juse use the big movement and sit behind his ass 24/7 (moral of this story is that duels will be even more inaccessible to people and id have even fewer lads to duel with)

increasing the speed of guns wont fix the issue, itll just make people who cant aim or move die to the people that can even faster

there arent enough good pvpers for conn 24/7 training to be required. i dont play nowhere near enough to annoy people, and the last few """"""ace""""""" pvpers probably dont either

you dont have to be "good" anymore, just "good enough". dont eat your own nuke every 4 seconds and occassionaly land a couple shots in on the target, and if you miraculously happen to find a duel as long as you groupfight now and then you shouldnt have much issue having fun there (unless you just dont like the game mechanics which is perfectly understandable)

is it so hard to put a smidgens of effort into tryna learn how to move the mouse and press the buttons and right click so at the very least you know what to do, even if you arent exactly a master at it

-typed on phone at 1 39 am super tired good night friends

Nobody worries, Rhein Papa is "Bäke". Time to get Rhein back on its track it seems.

All that Rhein need is ein gut Kaiser, so, here i am.
