Junker with a Cheetah truster....

Being friendly with the Outcasts and, well, a Junker and all.... I can easily see the guy spotting one on a workbench in a station somewhere, admiring it....caressing it with his oily fingers...deciding to "aqquire" one [or just trade for one with 'em]....so would it be fair enough RPwise to have one?

your purchase of the cheetah thruster depends. on normal occasions id say no, becuase for one, its an uber piece of equipment, and would be pretty restricted to outcasts and their closest allies. however, if you had a decent RP explaining how you came to buy/get hold of/steal or whatever the cheetah thruster, i might say yes.

You would think thrusters would be considered the same as armour, or some weapons (AKA supernova) and be free for all.

BTW- what makes this thruster so uber? does it have higher speed then other thrusters?

Why would anyone even want a cheetah thruster?

It's only slightly better than the enhanced thruster.

Cheetah thruster: 24 million credits. 110 drain.
Enhanced thruster: 850,000 credits, 115 drain.

waste of money IMO.

not to mention, you get a very large repair bill, say if you went into a system which has radiation damage, such as omega 41 or summit...

Well my character can't afford one yet, just seeking opinions before making any plans.....I just figured it was so much the kind of thing a Junker would dig...but then again, as you say its very "Uberness" is sort of at odds with a Junkers "fix and make do" mindset.......and I am trying to keep him and his ship in character with the weps and what have you...TVM for the input, Guys.

I would say no but I do see bounty hunters sporting them do people really need consent to have them?
