mining isn't safe and carrying the ore or any cargo isn't safe either. the real problems is the few number of players, and even mainly the pirates tactics ... always the same that is on a trade lane pew pew and expect the trader to pass. if the pirate goes more active and less passive, i mean not wait for the trader but go hunting the trader or miner, i bet that would be much more enconters!

I can vouch for this. I used to fly a Hegemon called "The.False.Miner" which had a Freelancer IFF and an Pirate ID. I would fly into mine fields and meet miners and traders who didn't suspect a thing until it was too late.

Edit: Of course, you can temporarily disable players' ability to dock to a PoB by triggering its shield. You should use that for piracy.

Mining will alwais be safe on empty server .Stop trying fixing problems that were caused by empty server ,fix empty server problem and this and similar problems caused by this will fix its self .

There are bases near mining zones(15k-20k of distance) that allow to sell ore 2500 - 3300 per unit. This is one of the fastest ways to gain money currently. You can get around 7 000 000 per trip which takes 8-10 minutes overall. Also incredibly safe.

I propose we cut those incomes by half in order to incentivize miners to sell ore on the other side of the Sirius. That will increase amount of interactions between players.

If you're trying to pirate miners in a field you're not a very smart pirate. Miners would never be one to fly their mining ships across the map except maybe some newbies in Hegamons. You want to pirate better you catch the traders hauling the ore from the base to a drop. Bases can only hold so much so it will need traders to haul which usually means bigger ships with more cargo. Anyone with any common sense would know the traders would be the better profit as far as piracy prices. Either way if you are crying because you don't make enough as a pirate then you really have no concept of this game world. Piracy has never been a way to make billions especially on a dead ass server. You want money get off your ass and work for it as a trader, piracy is mainly done for fun and pvp not profit.

(besides if you only pirate miners and chase them off all the time, you reduce the amount of ore being mined and bought from a pob by fat juicy trader ships.)
