Why would I bug your hangar? I've dealt with enough Hackers in my day to know how pointless that would be. One does not target an enemy's strongest defenses to attack.
I'm sure we can hire corpses if they can pilot ships. Thank you though, I'm happy to be back. My old Dorado doesn't have the best generator since I can't really go to Orbital for repairs, but it's mine and that's what matters.
I think you should let my old identity stay dead though, thank you. I can't go into details but if they start asking about what happened after I woke up it would be bad. Just a fresh one with the same...name...age...details...you know...would be enough.
I want to find my old Osprey, so I'm heading to New Westminster now that my Dorado is registered. Hopefully the tides haven't washed it away, or destroyed it.
Hello Miss Martinez. I'm needing somebody to do an overhaul on a ship and I heard you were the best person for the job. I have an Osprey that has been sitting in a lake on New Westminster for the last 5 years and I need it repaired. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know what it needs, but the entire ship is waterlogged. The only dry part is the cockpit. It seems to be in okay shape considering where it was. This ship is important to me, so if Aquila could handle refurbishing it I would be grateful. And willing to pay.
The ship is a previous model Osprey, so it also needs exterior upgrades if they can be fitted. If this is possible, please let me know. I towed the ship back to Canberra so you can do an inspection on it before making a decision. It's in the docking bay in the market district, just look for the seaweed covered ship, really hard to miss.
It's not good. About a half-step shy of a total rebuild. The systems are fried, there's been water damage to structure and plating, and I got hit with a fish.
I'll bring over the itemized bill when I'm done with the evaluation. Meanwhile, did you need anything off the ship's memory? Some of that's salvageable as is, though we'll be replacing it with a new system.
I'm sorry about the fish, I should have expected at least one to find its way in but at the same time I didn't think about it. I understand it's a tall order but whatever needs to be done to get my ship back. It was my first fighter by the way.
There's only two things off the memory I should need, guncam footage of the Zwickau Incident and whatever the ship recorded after I landed it for the last time.
I'll treat you and your crew for a free ride on the Bobcaygeon for the trouble.
Weaver bumped this up to me for direct outreach. It seems the Cadiz Cartel disbanded right around the time their ambassador left. These events are probably directly related.
Maltese governance is currently under some dispute with the Cartel's dissolution, but at least one of the competing parties (one focused primarily on military research, apparently) seems inclined to leave us alone as long as we stay out of the hostilities.
So there's a bit of good news there.
I recommend maintaining a defensive posture in the coming war. We have approximately two percent of the population of Crayter, and cannot realistically fight a war in our current state. I'm also told the effects of another war on civilian morale would be disastrous, especially a war against a party that has thus far done us no harm. We have to see to our own peoples' safety first.
Oh, and I also recommend treating these "republic" insurrectionists as an internal Maltese matter. Not in the sense of "it's your problem, deal with it" but rather, "it's not our situation, we don't want to interfere." I am aware of your sympathies, but it is as Weaver said - we have a job to do, to look after the people of Natio Octavarium.
Minister Combs recently handled the acquisition of a pair of Gallic transports. I understand that one is for the Fleet to use as a troop transport.
It should go without saying that the Commission should inspect the ship thoroughly before its use. And while the other was on behalf of a civilian, as I understand it, it would be recommended that we apply the the same scrutiny to both.
Some are not yet convinced the war is over, after all.
That is a prudent suggestion. I'd like to assign a team of engineers to assist the Commission in their inspection. They need to familiarize themselves with the ship, and tearing it apart looking for bugs would accomplish that nicely. We may want to replace the software with something more familiar and secure as well.
As you might've guessed, we left a few things out of the CORINTHIAN report. We didn't want to leave you in the dark, it just took too long to confirm our speculation.
My people have been evaluating those narcrahtite samples our haulers have been bringing in. We believe the armor of Canberra made use of this material. This would explain why the durability is beyond what many Sirian stations demonstrate; the rounded reactive armor doesn't account for everything.
This might also explain why the edgeworld Zoners are so interested in the stuff.
That said, I can't recommend using much. We don't have a reliable source. Might be smart to learn how to break through narcrahtite plating, though.
