I've been thinking about this for a while now, and have had a few ideas on how to go about it. The idea here is to scatter them around Sirius, off the sides of lanes, near bases/planets, and so on for a bit of world building. Maybe even allow players and factions to submit their own for credits. I had a bit of inspiration earlier today, and here's what I've come up with so far. I still want to add a bit more, connect the two sides with a bit more tech, but I think it's far along enough to show off.

Skorak and I had similar ideas. What we wanted to do is have a station like The Ring around the whole New Berlin planet.

In space rangers 2, there are rings like that around the planet with the huge panel that was displaying the news and so on.



Really cool idea, though I'm wondering if we could have something like that in our game. Like would it be possible to put a gif on that panel?

No, unfortunately FL doesn't support GIFs for textures.

Just a random test card. I don't exactly have a pile of pre-made ads sitting around, and a test card was good enough for this.

We could get written advertisements when people come to stations, via pop up messages, just like when you enter systems.

Imagine flying through Pueblo Station, and non-intrusive temporary text appears "Ageira Technologies, connecting Sirius since 44 A.S.", etc.

Like the ones you get when you enter a Freeport NFZ? That's not a bad idea, particularly for Ageira, since the ship's computer probably runs Ageira software.
