Bug or feature?

Ok, so lately my net has been lagging much more then lately... as I'm sure my constant disconects show.. however.. tonight this new thing popped up...

I think the server is threatening to kick me cause of lag, but never does.

Which is good. Cause such a feature would completely kill Freelancer for me.

So if this is supposed to kick those who lag, can it be turned off? it will make it so those stuck on dialup or slow connections can't play. :(

I have got severe lag once or twice with that !kick message. I never lagged that bad before update.

If you're running an exorbitant amount of online applications, you'll probably lag so bad that it is a detriment to the server to try and contact you. This is when you are kicked.

It happened to me once. I remember. I was torrenting some Guild Wars Soundtracks, downloading Service Pack 1, had Skype, AIM, and Apple Downloader all running. Lagged up a storm.

Happens to me during extreme lag times.

Rarely during large battles, though, which is good.

I turned off aim next time I joined the server and it remedied the problem real fast.

I'm a Laggstralian and never seen this notice once, even though on a good day my ping is up around 350+ms on a bad day is about double.:mellow:

We're called ANZLAG-gers, and yeah, I don't get that issue. Ping stays around 300-450 m/s.

ANZLAG actually helps quite a bit in combat, depending on how mild it is.

Super-anzlag is bad though.
