Groshyr, I'd actually be OK with Roussillon becoming Tau-115. Though in that case, Brittany/Orkney would need to become some other Tau. And Edinburgh too (Tau-E, where E could stay for "Edinburgh" or "Enclave", with planet Gaia). Though that'd defeat the purpose of renaming, I guess. Basically, as much as I like some of the old names, I saw no viable options other than to keep things as is.

There is no "back" in that case though, Roussillon was never renamed since its implementation as Roussillon in 2012 January.

The new names confuse me as a relative newbie to Disco... But I like that they reflect the years of RP (good or bad, doesn't matter, it's still effort). So it's a hard pick.


Also regarding planet Manhattan and naming scheme... I think they did it to make a point how Manhattan is a special place where all the elites live their luxurious and corrupted orange dreams, while everybody else in the New York system is either a poor miner, scrapper, crook, criminal or a terrorist...

It's a slippery slope for me. Changes in power happen all the time. System's changes hands, planets get taken over, systems get forcefully taken over. Now do you expect your star chart in your battleship or snubcraft to change? Odds are no because this isn't windows or iOS where updates happen frequently.

However i feel the changes represent the game moving forward. There should be substantial reason for a system name to be changed.
