' Wrote:What Linkus said. You don't own Sigma 13 so you cannot replace a base with one of your own. This sounds like an oorp power grab and looks bad for your faction.
I am all for an evolving game but to remove a base from a faction because you don't like it is going way to far.
I mean I don't like Xenos but I don't want their bases removed from the game.
Calm down gentlemen, my suggestion went along side with the mentioned events. Now the ones that really hang around Yanagi Depot is the Harvesters, and I wouldn't want to be far from viewing their roleplay at all. It just slipped my mind around 2 am in the morning the good of the station being there even after the debris is planned to be cleaned. Also the "power grab" comment, the most I've stated is to show where the population lived, the GMG really is not all there since there has not really been anyone interested in its roleplay. Now what is so power grab about that? No we do not own Sigma-13, but it is the homeland for the npc faction therefore our roleplay concerning the faction has already been written. Now please view the rest of the information I have provided and ask questions or state if anything in it is missing.
Here's another problem: its the only place for pirates to land in the Sigmas. Off the top of my head, you have 2 GMG bases, an ALG base, an OSC base, and a Cryer base. I know, the Outcasts can capture Atka! (joke) But seriously, if Yanagi was to go boom, I'd like to see something like FP7 rebuilt, or an OC base inbetween the two planets by the O-Beta JH, or a Corsair one by the Sig 19-17 JH or something.

Yeah, why don't we rebuild FP7? It's been... what, 15 years? I think the Zoners should get their lazy behinds out there and set up another station. Get a Juggernaut out there to defend the place as it's under construction, etc.
Also, couldn't the GMG just set up a base out amidst the gas miners, rather than demolishing Yanagi and setting up shop amidst the swarms of Wild?
If I understand the rumors and news correctly, what I have pieced together is that GMG members come from a variety of different backgrounds and planets. The GMG missions in the past have been very long term, with lengths measured in years and not months. So GMG members would in the past have returned to their planet of origin when they got back from these long missions. With mission times becoming shorter, and consequently the time in between missions gets shorter, meaning that they would be less likely to return to their planet of origin if it were far away, hence the recent development of GMG members getting residences on Honshu. I would also assume that some live full time on the depots such as Naha.
Where there are debris fields you find the Junkers. As any other factions, I'd like to imagine that GMG sees the Junkers as they want to look like : salvagers, harmless and just good to do the dirty job.
Yanagi is the most important strategic base for the expansion of the Junkers in Kusari. There is no available place elsewhere that can cover their activities. The Hogoshas hold firmly the underground world in Kusari and no Junkers can hope to fly safely inside the Kusari space.
This is the general view about the Junker presence in Sigma-13. Remove Yanagi depot and you remove from the Junker faction one of their main goal.
Now, if we consider the player characters activities.
No offence to the Harvester I respect, but they never claimed to be Junkers. They use the Junker ID/tag because they have no choice if they want to follow the server rules. However, harvesting/salvaging have something similar and efficient. They use, like all the unlawful factions, the Junker bases because they are the perfect and logical choice. The player-characters Junkers accept them because they are more war efficient than most of them, and they can protect them.
The truth is that there is no Junker player faction that can hold this strategic base = no real junkers PC activities. It doesn't mean that they cannot. Imagine, if a Junker group start to gently tax everyone that come to 10k from Yanagi. They will become the richest pirates of Sirius.
I hope the future will explain the secret role of the Junkers in all the major events of Sirius, even if I have my own dream about it.
Last word, if a home for GMG exist, a real home, it should be their system guard, and not Sigma13/19 which are only their resource areas.
