Public Announcement

Shock, displeasure, disappointment. These words describe the initial feelings of the representatives of the Parisian Assembly upon the declaration of war by the Empire of Kusari against the Confederacy of Gallia. Needless to say the Confederal Defense forces responded immediately and took appropriate measures, but since the Empire decided to spread their propaganda publicly in an attempt to defame us, we found it appropriate to respond in kind, and inform the public about our stance.

The Confederacy of Gallia denies the accusations of the Empire of Kusari about the royalists of the Grand Duchy of Burgundy avoiding repercussions for their actions under the reign of the Kingdom of Gallia. The two other member nations, which opposed the Kingdom in the past, would have certainly not allowed such. Rather we agreed to internally review and judge the cases of, then apply consequences on those who returned to Gallia from the frontlines, and hunt those down who decided to flee to the Enclave in the Hebrides instead. This procedure was agreed upon by representatives actually relevant participants of the Gallic Conquest during negotiations held last year. The Empire questioning this process questions the judgement of all three member nations of the Confederacy, as well as said relevant participants beside us, infringing upon the internal matters of a foreign nation while doing so.

Furthermore, the Confederacy of Gallia denies the accusations of the Empire of Kusari about possession of weapons of mass destruction. To demonstrate our dedication to peace, the Confederal Defense Forces took special care of dismantling any weaponry of such kind from previously Valor-class and Triumph-class ships during their upgrade to Remembrance-class and Gallant-class, respectively, finding it quite important not to project the appearance of what members of the Leeds resistance once had once described as a "war crime with engines". Knowing there may still be capital ships with operational weapons of mass destruction outside Gallia in the possession of the Enclave, the Confederacy also took care to instruct all pilots to report such sightings to military forces immediately.

Once again the Confederacy of Gallia denies the accusations of the Empire of Kusari about any intention of further hostile actions against any Sirian nation. Most of our nation actively fought against the regime that started the war over eight years ago, and forced into exile all those who are still willing to continue the fight. We deny all accusations of fanaticism from those who themselves behave like fanatics. We deny all accusations of invasive intents from those who themselves invaded our home.

The Confederacy of Gallia condemns the Empire of Kusari for its incompetence. Those with at least a half brain could figure out the difference between the Confederacy of Gallia and the Gallic Royal Enclave, that the former being the new post-war regime of Gallia determined to cease all hostilities against those the Kingdom of Gallia unnecessarily attacked, while the latter is the formation of all those willing to continue the war the Kingdom started.

The Confederacy of Gallia condemns the Empire of Kusari for its recklessness. After the war most of the participants of this long lasting conflict figured out the above difference and sat down to negotiate with the Confederacy about consequences, repercussions and future endeavors. Among those, who've chosen diplomacy over continued or restarted hostilities, were the Kingdom of Bretonia as well, the same house the Empire of Kusari is now trying to avenge. And yet the Empire chose not to confront the Confederacy to discuss their issues, nor present any evidence to support their accusations before declaring war.

The Confederacy of Gallia condemns the Empire of Kusari for its dishonesty. The above mentioned negotiations occured last year. The Empire of Kusari communicated no care about the sins of the Kingdom with us, nor interest in taking revenge on anyone for them. Even three months ago the Empire expressed its interest in economic and military cooperation, and while others were not hesitant to voice their discontent with the past of Gallia, Kusari hid theirs behind lies.

The Confederacy of Gallia condemns the Empire of Kusari for its pride. The Parisian Assembly found the term "pride" to be more appropriate than "honor" to describe the Empire's belief to be a suitable, morally high savior of Sirius to deliver justice against a perceived, but actually non-existent threat from the Confederacy. We would have found this pride, or ego, to be more useful than harmful should the Empire have directed its anger at the correct target.

The Empire of Kusari still deciding to proceed with their declaration of war despite being notified of their wrongdoings listed above through private communication channels further reinforces all our points about incompetence, recklessness, dishonesty, and pride. It also questions the trustworthiness and reliability of the regime, and whether it is indeed Gallia and not Kusari actually endangering the stability within the region.

Aside from this common public notice, each state of the Confederacy of Gallia decided to share the following thoughts with us individually:

"We have fought for over three decades to liberate the people of Gallia from the tyranny of King Charles. We have worked hard to eradicate the anti-Sirian sentiment from among ourselves. We have successfully exiled the still belligerent royalists to the Hebrides, who now call themselves the Enclave. And we will not let all these achievements ruined just because an ignorant neighbor cannot figure out the difference between them and us." - Quentin Besson, on behalf of the Republic of Gallia

"By the time the Gallic Royal Navy entered Sirius the Kusari Naval Forces have already broken through the gates of Leeds. Out of all Sirian nations, Kusari has the least amount of legitimacy to stand up and avenge those lives lost in Bretonia. We may condemn the sins of the old Royal Navy, but I can assure you we can be just as fierce if we are to defend our own home. "Out of all gauls, the people of the Minarchy has suffered the most under the Gallic Royal Navy. That Kusari takes revenge on us for their sins is flower at best, insulting at worst. We have already learned through the example of the Kingdom of Gallia where a proud nation with an excessive amount of superiority complex and an absolute dictatorship ruling over brainwashed masses can lead. If it is Kusari's turn to learn, we shall teach them a lesson they will not forget for a good while." - Antoine Alphonse Louvellaine, on behalf of the Minarchy of Provence

With that said, I would like to reassure everyone that the Confederal Defense Forces, the Office of Confederal Intelligence and the Confederal Gendarmerie will do everything to the best of their abilities to defend the Confederacy of Gallia and everyone within it from the aggression of these hostile invaders.

A few words to those, who wish to fight for our home beside our armed forces : There is much for you to do. Organise yourselves, mount operations in the traditional Marine fashion, accomplish your objectives and protect your homes as we should have done all these years ago. Perhaps the fate of the galaxy is no longer at stake, but something far more important is, nowadays : Gallia.

And lastly, to those of other nations observing from further afar : remind yourselves what transpired the last time a mindless aggressor with shallow excuses decided to infringe upon the sovereignty of an other, and remember to where it led and what it caused. Then make your judgement accordingly.
